P.S. I've updated your info on the first page and always good to see fellow Fed (and Spectrum) fans on board

britbox said:Slasher, looks good. I think that would be really useful info for the WTA board and much appreciated by all board regulars. I think this would best be in the WTA section, maybe as a pinned post.
britbox said:No worries Slasher - in your own time, all appreciated. Do you think it would be best to set up a thread in the Castle Forum initially for you to play around with and then later move it across into the WTA?
Clay Death said:and what can we say about general masterclass. he is widely regarded as the greatest poster in the world. lets open our arms and welcome him.
I have come up with an intriguing idea for general masterclass that we need to discuss today.
is it possible for him to have his own section that he can moderate? we will call it "The Masterclass Tennis Corner". he can let it evolve in any form, shape, or fashion he sees fit or desires.
we will all help support it and get it off the ground. here people will come with their tennis questions and the like. we can even try to get a real life retired tennis pro as a guest at "the masterclass tennis corner" once in a blue moon.
it will be like a relaxed talk show with all of us helping in anyway we can. its an innovative idea whose time has come.
we are all very busy and so is general masterclass so we will just do what we can. no explosice growth is to be expected. we will just let things take their own natural course.

Thank you. It was a bit of a hassle but now I'm here.

LOL I'm a world class citizen. But I'll show you one of my haunts.
And I'm not a fan of any particular player, but am a fan of great tennis, so I usually start with the legends since they played the greatest tennis for the most part.
They will be in my signature once I figure out how to do that.

masterclass said:Good day folks. Some info I posted in one of the other forums...
Jimmy Connors. 16 straight years in the top 10 (1973-1988), 17 in the top 20 (1973-1989).
Ivan Lendl had 13 straight years in the top 10 (1980-1992), 15 in the top 20 (1979-1993).
Pete Sampras had 12 straight years in the top 10 (1990-2001), 13 in the top 20 (1990-2002).
Andre Agassi had a total of 16 years in the top 10, but not consecutively. He fell out of the top 20 in 1993 and 1997. (1988-1992), (1994-1996), (1998-2005)
Among active players:
Roger Federer has 11 straight years (2002-2012) in the top 10 and 10 in the top 3.
Rafael Nadal has 8 straight years (2005-2012) in the top 10 and also top 4.
-----------------
And credit goes to Sir Litotes or Markus, who further put this in terms of weeks:
Jimmy Connors has the record - 788 straight weeks from (week beginning) 27/8-1973 to (week beginning) 26/9-88.
Ivan Lendl is second. His numbers are not verified, I do not know exactly when he entered, but an estimation gives him 626 weeks from 19/5-80 to 11/5-92
Pete Sampras is 3rd on 565 weeks, 10/9-90 - 2/7-01
Roger Federer is 4th, and will become 3rd very soon, currently on 562 weeks, 14/10-02 - today
Stefan Edberg is 5th on 493 weeks, 9/9-85 - 13/2-95
....
Rafael Nadal is 8th on 430 weeks.

Thanks for the kind words and the idea General. Masterclass Tennis Corner sounds like a good idea. I'll have to think about it. Thanks.
