I think you're right. At this point, I don't see Federer or Nadal winning. It won't surprise me if neither of them even reach the final.

It will be quite a statement on the current state of tennis if Murray and Djokovic will have contested 3 out of 4 GS finals this year.

That's awesome, General. Ten years ago, I bet none of them would have thought this would happen at their current age.

(But where are the young guys?)

It's new imperatives of the sport general tented.

Supreme fitness is the next frontier.

That and the other trends that I have mentioned in the other thread at our discussion page.

Que pasa general Ashwin.

Wow. Unbelievable stuff.

Our sport is too civilized for something like that to happen.

That's hilarious! Real castle storming stuff. I imagine Roger often felt like hitting Rafa, but he wouldn't have the stones... :D

Que pasa kieran.

Glad to see Jamie Murray snag the doubles crown in gstaad.

And what can I say about Anderson. He is always short on testicular fortitude.

the sport is changing. this is one of the trends that we need to mention in our "tennis mega trends" thread general:

average age of a touring pro in the top 100 is greater than 26 now. it may even be approaching 27-28.

we need to research this and double check it.

so what does it mean?

it means that it is a lot harder for a rookie to make it big in our sport. you need a lot of experience to amount to anything.

there are always exceptions but those are very rare now.

jerzy is one of the exceptions.

this the "Kastles Stadium" in Washington DC.

Washington Kastles--world team tennis--team plays here.

cool looking tennis court.

guys I have a good feeling about tommy at the u.s. open. I think he is going deep there. he can be very tough on the hard courts.

clay did not quite work out for him in the last 2 events but I think he is going to make up for that on the hard courts.

The badminton brawl is a classic.

Here's another good one between Jim Everett and Jim Rome.

good heavens. that was good baron.

I am sure there was a lawsuit there somewhere for that assault.

keep them coming.

the castle is slow but we knew it would be. these things take time.

people are a bit apprehensive at first about new places.

now that t4u is deader than a graveyard, we may start seeing a few folks looking our way in terms of a permanent move. hopefully anyway.

it is a far better alternative than for them to just sit there and jack off to absolutely nothing.

here our discussion pages are quite lively and this is the fastest growing forum in the world. and there is something for everyone here. we even have games here.

time to hit the sack. see you all tomorrow.

where the hell is general masterclass? I have not seen him since the great biblical flood.

we need his masterclass analysis of the rogers cup in montreal.

Greetings Castlesians,

We've been enjoying the summer here and have had many little trips when we get the chance, so not too much time for tennis talk lately.

I did notice on MTF that another Nadal fan, the irrepressible trolling comedian TopSpinDoctor, is in the permaban process. He was banned on his birthday 7/25 and he gets one chance to return to action on his next birthday. I believe if after he returns, he commits another violation, he will get permanently banned.

How did he get banned on his birthday? He was probably defending himself after being attacked left and right by the usual brainless, boneless, boorish, bickering bunch of buffoons who live their lives at the toxic waste dump. Unfortunately, their kind lives and thrives on every forum that gets popular or looks like it is about to get popular (e.g. T4U).

TopSpinDoctor actually has an excellent knowledge of tennis when he is being serious. But at MTF he was rarely serious in recent times, especially after hitting the bottle. Be on the lookout for him.

As for Rafael Nadal, rumors have it that he will play in Montreal, but that if he goes deep in the tournament, he may skip Cincinnati. I think that would be a good move. It looks like his rest since Wimbledon is paying benefits.

It looks like his knee is better based on this frolicking on his boat.

Respectfully,
masterclass

I'm glad Rafa's having fun, but can you imagine if photographers followed you around everywhere, including while on holiday? Lots of people want to be famous, but I think it would be dreadful.

The background was that Jim Everett was a quarterback with the Rams and took a sack (tackle) and went down without actually being hit. Jim Rome, had then started labelling him a sissy and calling him Chris Everett (after Chris Evert)
