Morning Nekro, CD, Nikki and the others.

Ready for Day 3 Day 4 of the US Open? What matches do you guys plan to watch?

Work paid off for me, as I have managed to reconstitute the 1973 official rankings with their exact points and correct all the errors ATP made back then. The first of the years is done, I am confident I can do the same for the next years and solve the Vilas Mystery.:D

andy should have been given a chance to play his match yesterday afternoon.

he is the defending champion.

I am pissed. organizers are imbeciles. selfish imbeciles.

essentially 3 days have come and gone and the defending champion has yet to get on the court.

It's ridiculous. How can they have Andy this late when the women's defending champion is done and over with her 1st round match and was supposed to play her 2nd tonight?

What is their logic behind this? I'd seriously like to know. What about his UK fans? It's not 1am for them. It's literally Thursday for them which is the 4th day of the tournament. Do you not feel this is highly biased? I mean what other explanation does anyone have on this?

USTA are notoriously bad at running this tournament. It's been going on for years. I don't understand how anyone responsible for scheduling still has a job. Year after year there is some kind of scheduling fiasco that could have been avoided if better decisions had been made. And to answer everyone's question, all American players don't get preferential treatment. I've seen some really bad choices made because the USO is all about ratings and putting the big draw names in as many night matches (during the early rounds) as they can.

Because of the rain yesterday, they are behind. Today you'll see Serena/Fed on in the afternoon, but that's not really what they want. During the week they prefer to put them on the night session during primetime. CBS owns the rights for the weekend schedule and you'll see all the top names get day matches on Sat, Sun and Labor Day.

Thanks CD. I was at a concert last night and missed all the evening action w/ Delpo, Andy and Blake's removal from tennis altogether. How was Andy and Delpo's form?

delpo started to find his range eventually in that match.

I think he is going to be tough to beat. first match tends to be tricky at times at slams.

on the other side of the ledger, GGL played quite well.

blake gave his all but what can you do against that serve. dr ivo had around 40 aces.

andy was ok considering it was his first match. he will try improve and get a little sharper with each additional match.

llodra was never going to be able to challenge him anyway. he just does not have enough game.

anyway which concert did you go to the other night? how was it?

Indeed.

The next time I go, I wanna visit this city. It looks like from a fantasy movie with the waterfall.

I saw the Ramsey Lewis Electric Band and Natalie Cole last night. Too awesome for words. I only have one show left of the summer series. Tomorrow night is Alabama.

I'm sure Andy will improve General CD. IMO, DP always tends to start a little slow in a tournament. I'm glad Blake put up a fight for his final tennis match. It would have been nice if he could have made it to the weekend, but I guess that's alot to ask for.

Nice.
Once we stayed not too far away from there. If I had known about the waterfall, I would have visited it. :)

He's been pissed off and going at Sid (me) a long time. What he needs is to get a happy life,i don't think he has one.I think with his pc it's the only way to get his kicks in life. He's a very sad man with nothing better to do.I know he's no wife & he's told me so in the past.I'm lucky,i have a wonderfull wife & a good home to come home to.I don't go in for Patriotism as such, but i do like to see tennis players from the uk win.My dad was a paddy & my mum is English,i understand Patriotism more them most.Seen some rucks in my family when i was younger,so Patriotism means next to nothing to me.For sure he does doesn't like Andy, anytime things are said he put's him down.

Hi Siddy, a marriage doesn't necessarily ensure happiness because there are a lot of broken and unhappy marriages. And single people aren't necessarily unhappy because they don't have wives/husbands/kids etc. I am single and so is herc and I am very sure I am very happy. I love my life and enjoy every moment of it and I don't care at all if I have a husband/boyfriend etc. Life is too big and it's very different for each person so that's not what it's about because happiness is relative and a subjective matter. I am very happy though that you have such a wonderful family.

It's who Babb is in general. If he were married and had children he still would have been the same person because he loves who he is and thinks he's right about things he feels strongly about - that is, even if he's wrong on all accounts and the only person who can change that is Babb himself. I see him as a person who has stopped evolving. Who is unable to move on - unable to let go and tends to carry all his problems forever. He has a lot of deeply rooted problems that will take a few lifetime to solve because his progress is so slow. Anyway, not worth talking about it, really but he is also very biased (part of his problem) and this is not the first time he's flying off the handle at the mention of wrong scheduling by USTA. You can go back to that thread and see that he's still reacting to the side matter and still unable to see the main point. It's not about if the first round matches got done by the end of day 3 as scheduled anyway but the fact that Andy, the defending champion, was scheduled to play on day 3, while he should have played on day 2 - evening session. I've been dealing with him for a long time now to know for a fact that, he's very touchy about both the USO and French Open. If you tell him that the French crowd are notorious and lack decency, he'd react to that as well and wouldn't let it go for years or maybe forever. He's not willing to listen to any criticism when it comes to his favourte tournaments but he's perfectly happy with bitching about Wimbledon or anything he dislikes. It's just all too predictable.

The Americans dominate the TV slot and that was my point. I'd like to see other matches and not just the ending or the beginning of a match that doesn't have an American name. It's not something new. It's been happening for years now. And there are certain popular players and by that I don't only mean Americans, who get favourable schedules at the USO. I have no interest watching either Federer or Serena slaughtering their opponents during a night session. Unless the match has a significant potential to be competitive, I'd put the likes of Federer, Nadal, Serena, Nole etc. in the day session.

they are playing the final on Monday general sid.

That's another disturbing factor about USO. If Andy makes the final, then I'll have to now take Monday off too which I find highly inconvenient. If they were to finish on Sunday like the rest of the world then this would have not been an issue. And who bloody wants to see the Men's final on a Monday? It is extremely anti-climax if anything. Why not have a Sunday start and finish it on Sunday too? Just mind boggling stuff.

dr ivo does it.

it took 5 sets and nearly 40 aces to derail blake.

what a match.

Poor Blake but at least he went out with a memorable match. Ivo did good to come back and win. I felt very sorry for Blake but it is what it is. Not everyone gets to go out with a bang.

Isner and Monfils are tied at 3 all in the H2H. The last two wins have gone in Monfils favour so big task ahead for John boy. He must keep the match short and simple in order to stay fresh and healthy. I may be able to catch a bit since it's been scheduled later this afternoon.
