G'day Castleodians,

Bit of fun for the day... Q&A if you were stranded on a desert island.

You get to take the following allowances...

1. ONE Music Album (can't be a greatest hits)
2. THREE Movies
3. ONE Non-Fiction Book
4. ONE Fiction Book
5. A Pre-packed Meal (Starter, Main & Dessert)
6. A companion. (somebody in the public eye, not a wife, g/f etc...)

What do you take with you, 1-6.

This is really a tough one.

1. One of the Muse Albums that also has at least one instrumental number. If not then I'll take one of Mozart or Beethoven but I'd love to hear a human voice though since I'll be stranded. Oh well but it's a very tough one you must admit.

2. Shawshank Redemption (for motivation purpose as I'll need ways to figure out how to get out of there), Hangover (gotta laugh), 2001: A Space Odyssey (love sci-fi and I can watch this over and over again).

3. I love Quantum Physics so it will have to be either Atoms, Einstein, and the Universe by Dr. Robert Piccioni or The Self-Aware Universe or God Is Not Dead: What Quantum Physics Tells Us about Our Origins and How We Should Live by Dr. Amit Goswami. (these books I have yet to read so they are on my list)

4. As to Fiction, it would have to be The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. Just blew me away.

5. You didn't mention either coffee or alcohol. How rude! Just so know you I gotta have both. Starter I'd just prefer a plain salad. Main course would be Italian but not pizza perhaps shrimp risotto, and either tiramisu or napoleon as dessert. Some French wine along with it and a cup coffee right after. I am going all out here folks!

6. This is the best one. I don't care for sex with strangers so I'll go with Buddha. He can teach me how to properly mediate and even when I'll be stranded in an island, I'll be able to go wherever I want through my mind and experience different realms. Nothing is more exciting than that! Besides, I'll get to learn so much from him. And if I can have two people then I am more than happy to take my Andy with me. :)

Have I successfully gone overboard with this? But you asked. And I merely complied. :p

Good one, brother!

1. Don Giovanni, by Mozart (it's a 3 disc boxset but I'm sure I can smuggle it all in).
2. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
3. St Augustine's Confessions
4. Don Quixote
5. Veggie soup, Duck a l'orange, bread & butter pudding
6. I could go highbrow and would love to say a saint or Oscar Wilde, but I reckon on a desert island you'd want some fun, so Winona Ryder or Ava Gardner.

it's a 2 week u.s. open party Emma.

it's the last slam of 2013.

you are not going anywhere.

Oh, I'll be around but I just don't want to be around as much. I'll be around much more after it is all over. I get distracted when I read negative posts about Murray during, say, a Major - doesn't matter where I read them here, there, or everywhere I guess. .

you should see what they say about nadal at some of the boards. especially at MTF.

nobody intelligent pays any mind to it.

But you did pay attention to Alex's posts when he was posting drivel, innit. It's hard to ignore everything unless I take myself to either Buddha or a robot level in order to not let anything touch me.

But it has nothing to do with this forum. This is more than fine. I just don't like getting distracted when I want to concentrate on Andy and Andy only. I can't explain it but this is how it is.

My most safe and positive zone is behind the sofa though when Andy's playing and watch from there! lolol

Behind the sofa is the best place for me to watch Andy's tennis especially during a Slam. I have a nail filer, paper, coffee, a pillow (in case the match turns out to be a very long one), remote, a blanket. Blanket because when Andy falls behind like 2-6, 1-5 in a Major against a capable player like Cilic, I feel terribly cold and oh, my cell phone in case I need to call 911 due to heavily body and mental reactions during the match. You can see how well equipped I am for Andy's matches that has the word 'roller coaster' written all over it! No forum can prepare me like that, you see.

I was looking at a bbc sports site. looks like Sampras has tipped andy murray to win the title in new York:

Andy Murray: US Open champion 'mentally better' - Pete Sampras
By David McDaid
BBC Scotland Comments (68)
Andy Murray will cope well with his unfamiliar role as defending champion at the US Open, according to 14-time Grand Slam winner Pete Sampras.

Murray won his first major in New York last year, and returns to Flushing Meadows later this month as Wimbledon champion too.

"I think it's a little bit different when you're the man to beat, but you get used to that," said Sampras.

"I think mentally he's a bit better now."

Murray beat Novak Djokovic in five sets to win last year's US Open, added Olympic gold with a straight-sets victory over Roger Federer at London 2012 and won Wimbledon last month with another triumph over Djokovic.

Sampras, 41, added: "Now he feels like he belongs, like he's up there with Roger Federer, up there with Rafa Nadal. He's on his way to doing great things."

That was a lovely read though felt short. I don't think he's tipping Andy though but maybe in a round about way. He's just explaining where Andy is mentally these days and he's pretty spot on. Thanks herc. It's always great to read Sampras' view. His book is one of the best I've ever read from a pro. It gave me chills at times.
