Just being objective and constructive, herc. I hope you don't mind. I am very happy for you. You've been a great supporter of Nadal and for the most part, you've paid great respect to all the players and that takes a big heart. Nadal played well enough to win this title and that's fair to say.

affirmative lady emma.

clay warrior played his heart out at both of these masters events.

he wanted so much to make an impression at these 2 events.

his team and his family must be so proud of him.

and all of spain is proud of him.

how is this for a coincidence:

only other Spaniard to win cinci (moya in 2002) is also from Mallorca.

By becoming the second Spaniard to win in Cincinnati (Moya in 2002), Nadal receives $583,800 in prize money and 1000 Emirates ATP Ranking points. The result means that he will return to World No. 2 on Monday.

Fellow Warriors,

School starts tomorrow. So, my PPD (posts per day) will decrease.
However, I will chime in whenever possible.

Good luck to all your favorites at USO.

does anyone know how often this Montreal/cinci double has been achieved before?

looks nadal is 1/2 way there to making it happen.

Four times. Rafter, Roddick, Agassi and Nadal.

interesting stuff general GSM. thanks for sharing this info.

so andy Roddick and rafter would also go on to capture the u.s. open also.

now it is nadal`s turn to make some magic at flushing meadows.

How are you folks today?

Good Enrique. My gut feeling is Nadal won't win the US Open and it will be either Murray or Djokovic.

Did britbox wake up in the middle of the night just to say that? lololol :p

Folks are alright, Javi, So what kind of protein shakes are you making today to attract the ladies? :p

Lol, yeah.. I was having nightmares about Rafa winning the US Open.

lot of people are having nightmares about the clay warrior right about now.

he has turned the tennis world upside down in a matter of 2 weeks.

and I would venture to say that he is not even playing all that well.

roger had 44 unforced errors and was still in the hunt against him in cincy. dynamitrov took a set from him.

nadal can return better, play smarter, and focus better. he could put it all together at flushing meadows. that is what it will take in new York.

best of 5 sets environment favors him on the average.

He must have his online status set to hidden. Hunting is very popular with the ladies and we've had to up his PM inbox by 10,000 for fan mail alone. I believe he was getting so swamped by PMs he turned his online visibility to off until he could hire a secretary to deal with the situation.

Good Enrique. My gut feeling is Nadal won't win the US Open and it will be either Murray or Djokovic.

Who do you hope is gonna win the US Open pal?

And how long do you think Rafa will hold on to the #1 ranking? (it's almost inevitable that he's going to snatch it at some point)

I "hope" Federer wins the US Open, but realistically it's more likely to be Djoko, Murray or Nadal.

If and when Fed gets rolled, I'd usually be rooting for Murray.

But... my prediction is that Djokovic takes the honours.

Nadal will likely take the #1 either before the year is out or straight after the AO. I think he'll hold it for the most part of next year.

I have been out on the road all day.

I am just now walking in the house.

it is slow here lady emma. it will take at least a year to get something going here.

locals don't really care much about us or the castle so it will take a while here.

that was betty`s complaint. she said she felt totally and completely ignored here. nikki is gone too.

here is the way I look at it: if people are willing to come into your place and chill with you a little bit, then it is our responsibility to welcome them, meet them, and greet them.

a simple post to say hello to somebody takes less than 2 seconds.

people hardly ever go back to places where nobody bothers to speak to them. and why the hell should they.

now baron britbox and I are trying to set a bit of an example here so we will see if others follow.

everybody simply must be interested in growing the whole forum otherwise it is not going to happen.

we have around 172 members. now that is not too shabby considering how young this forum is but clearly if we are to embark on sustained growth then every single has person has to buy into baron`s vision.

and every single person has to do their part. that is how you make it interesting and that is how you make it grow.

It will happen via a Top-Down system.

1. Build a site with rich content that people want to visit. - Blogs, News etc...
2. Develop the social media side to interact with people.
3. A percentage will end up filtering through to the discussion forums.
4. A percentage of (3) will be interested in the chat thread.

You only really need 25 users who actively want to engage in a chat thread to make it a busy and then you'll probably have double that number again, who would pop in less frequently.

I think the overall figures for (3) to make (4) self-sustainable would be around 400-450. Which probably won't be that far away (about 6 months is my guess). We delete spam bot signups immediately, so our user numbers might be not be massive on the forums but they are real accounts.
