does anyone know how often this Montreal/cinci double has been achieved before?

looks nadal is 1/2 way there to making it happen.

I know Andy Roddick did a triple in 2003.

He won Montreal - Cincy and the US Open.

Four times. Rafter, Roddick, Agassi and Nadal.

Good Enrique. My gut feeling is Nadal won't win the US Open and it will be either Murray or Djokovic.

Who do you hope is gonna win the US Open pal?

And how long do you think Rafa will hold on to the #1 ranking? (it's almost inevitable that he's going to snatch it at some point)

The only other player who really cares about the No. 1 ranking is Djokovic so it's a battle that involve only two players. Murray doesn't give a damn and Federer is now a bit too old to chase the # 1 ranking. This helps these two players to fight it out since they don't always have to play the likes of Murray or Del Potro etc.

On a separate note, looks like Nadal's lengthy time off works like magic for him. In 2010 he went on a tear after getting beaten by Soderling in RG 2009 and went on to have the best year of his career so far. And this year it's turning out to be this same.

Congratulations to his fans however. I did not fancy Isner's chances in the final today as much; after all, he had beaten a couple of true hard-courters to make the final and it's just an impossible task to beat all 3 of them back to back to back without any day rest in between. Federer is truly olderer these days and Berdych is more lethal in Slams IMO. but not always. With Murray being out early, this side of the draw really opened up for Nadal.

It was interesting to note that Nadal also had Berdych and Federer in Indian Wells before meeting with Del Potro in the final who was coming off a back to back win over the No. 1 and 2 players.

Raonic also had nothing left in the tank in the final just in Toronto. Isner would have been deadlier for Nadal had he been on that side and either Federer or Berdych was on the other side. While Nadal really played in all his matches, he was also slightly lucky to have met with players who weren't genuine threat to him at that final stage. I'll give the win he had over Nole but I do feel Nole is a lot jaded these days since he didn't have the luxury to take a lengthy time off. It's a very taxing game after all especially nowadays.

let's see if rafito can overcome this hex.

I trust baron britbox is a gentleman whose intentions aren't questionable; therefore, he doesn't carry this hex you speak of. :)

Nadal carries his own hex. lolol :p

Nadal pretty much owns Murray. Saying that Murray getting out early, opened the draw
for Nadal is ridiculous.

I am not making this a Nadal vs Murray thing as that was not my point but of course, from a general fan's perspective, Murray is much more lethal than Federer (or Berdych who tends to worship Nadal a bit much) on hard courts and against Nadal at this point. After all, we are talking about a Murray who now has 2 Slams behind him and who also has the last win over Nadal in 2011 in Tokyo, where I remember him reducing Nadal to 4 points only in the final set. He basically bageled him there. Keep also in mind that Nadal has yet to win a Slam outside RG since 2010. So while these Masters hard court wins look awesome it's really not the total truth out there.

Another thing I should say is that, don't say too quickly who owns whom. Everything is subject to change in a matter of seconds and they do change. Once upon a time Nadal used to own Nole too but since 2011, their H2H is now 8-5 in Nole's favour. In GS, Nole leads 3-2. Both Major wins Nadal has over Nole are the ones at RG, whereas Nole has seen victories over Nadal on multiple surfaces.

That was just a demo for you to show you how things change and are subject to change at any given moment.

Just being objective and constructive, herc. I hope you don't mind. I am very happy for you. You've been a great supporter of Nadal and for the most part, you've paid great respect to all the players and that takes a big heart. Nadal played well enough to win this title and that's fair to say.

que pasa princess emma.

I have been out on the road all day.

I am just now walking in the house.

it is slow here lady emma. it will take at least a year to get something going here.

locals don't really care much about us or the castle so it will take a while here.

that was betty`s complaint. she said she felt totally and completely ignored here. nikki is gone too.

here is the way I look at it: if people are willing to come into your place and chill with you a little bit, then it is our responsibility to welcome them, meet them, and greet them.

a simple post to say hello to somebody takes less than 2 seconds.

people hardly ever go back to places where nobody bothers to speak to them. and why the hell should they.

now baron britbox and I are trying to set a bit of an example here so we will see if others follow.

everybody simply must be interested in growing the whole forum otherwise it is not going to happen.

we have around 172 members. now that is not too shabby considering how young this forum is but clearly if we are to embark on sustained growth then every single has person has to buy into baron`s vision.

and every single person has to do their part. that is how you make it interesting and that is how you make it grow.
