The American journalist, Edward Bernays, is often described as the man who invented modern propaganda. The nephew of Sigmund Freud, the pioneer of psycho-analysis, it was Bernays who coined the term “public relations” as a euphemism for spin and its deceptions.

In 1929, he persuaded feminists to promote cigarettes for women by smoking in the New York Easter Parade – behaviour then considered outlandish. One feminist, Ruth Booth, declared, “Women! Light another torch of freedom! Fight another sex taboo!” Bernays’ influence extended far beyond advertising. His greatest success was his role in convincing the American public to join the slaughter of the First World War.

The secret, he said, was “engineering the consent” of people in order to “control and regiment [them] according to our will without their knowing about it”.

He described this as “the true ruling power in our society” and called it an “invisible government”.

Today, the invisible government has never been more powerful and less understood. In my career as a journalist and film-maker, I have never known propaganda to insinuate our lives and as it does now and to go unchallenged.

Imagine two cities. Both are under siege by the forces of the government of that country. Both cities are occupied by fanatics, who commit terrible atrocities, such as beheading people. But there is a vital difference. In one siege, the government soldiers are described as liberators by Western reporters embedded with them, who enthusiastically report their battles and air strikes. There are front page pictures of these heroic soldiers giving a V-sign for victory. There is scant mention of civilian casualties.

In the second city – in another country nearby – almost exactly the same is happening. Government forces are laying siege to a city controlled by the same breed of fanatics. The difference is that these fanatics are supported, supplied and armed by “us” – by the United States and Britain. They even have a media centre that is funded by Britain and America. Another difference is that the government soldiers laying siege to this city are the bad guys, condemned for assaulting and bombing the city – which is exactly what the good soldiers do in the first city.

Confusing? Not really. Such is the basic double standard that is the essence of propaganda. I am referring, of course, to the current siege of the city of Mosul by the government forces of Iraq, who are backed by the United States and Britain and to the siege of Aleppo by the government forces of Syria, backed by Russia. One is good; the other is bad.

What is seldom reported is that both cities would not be occupied by fanatics and ravaged by war if Britain and the United States had not invaded Iraq in 2003. That criminal enterprise was launched on lies strikingly similar to the propaganda that now distorts our understanding of the civil war in Syria. Without this drumbeat of propaganda dressed up as news, the monstrous ISIS and Al-Qaida and al-Nusra and the rest of the jihadist gang might not exist, and the people of Syria might not be fighting for their lives today.

Some may remember in 2003 a succession of BBC reporters turning to the camera and telling us that Blair was “vindicated” for what turned out to be the crime of the century. The US television networks produced the same validation for George W. Bush. Fox News brought on Henry Kissinger to effuse over Colin Powell’s fabrications. The same year, soon after the invasion, I filmed an interview in Washington with Charles Lewis, the renowned American investigative journalist. I asked him, “What would have happened if the freest media in the world had seriously challenged what turned out to be crude propaganda?”

He replied that if journalists had done their job, “there is a very, very good chance we would not have gone to war in Iraq”.

It was a shocking statement, and one supported by other famous journalists to whom I put the same question — Dan Rather of CBS, David Rose of the Observer and journalists and producers in the BBC, who wished to remain anonymous. In other words, had journalists done their job, had they challenged and investigated the propaganda instead of amplifying it, hundreds of thousands of men, women and children would be alive today, and there would be no ISIS and no siege of Aleppo or Mosul. There would have been no atrocity on the London Underground on 7th July 2005. There would have been no flight of millions of refugees; there would be no miserable camps.

When the terrorist atrocity happened in Paris last November, President Francoi Hollande immediately sent planes to bomb Syria – and more terrorism followed, predictably, the product of Hollande’s bombast about France being “at war” and “showing no mercy”. That state violence and jihadist violence feed off each other is the truth that no national leader has the courage to speak.

“When the truth is replaced by silence,” said the Soviet dissident Yevtushenko, “the silence is a lie.”

The attack on Iraq, the attack on Libya, the attack on Syria happened because the leader in each of these countries was not a puppet of the West. The human rights record of a Saddam or a Gaddafi was irrelevant. They did not obey orders and surrender control of their country.

The same fate awaited Slobodan Milosevic once he had refused to sign an “agreement” that demanded the occupation of Serbia and its conversion to a market economy. His people were bombed, and he was prosecuted in The Hague. Independence of this kind is intolerable. As WikLeaks has revealed, it was only when the Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad in 2009 rejected an oil pipeline, running through his country from Qatar to Europe, that he was attacked.

From that moment, the CIA planned to destroy the government of Syria with jihadist fanatics – the same fanatics currently holding the people of Mosul and eastern Aleppo hostage. Why is this not news? The former British Foreign Office official Carne Ross, who was responsible for operating sanctions against Iraq, told me: “We would feed journalists factoids of sanitised intelligence, or we would freeze them out. That is how it worked.”

The West’s medieval client, Saudi Arabia – to which the US and Britain sell billions of dollars’ worth of arms – is at present destroying Yemen, a country so poor that in the best of times, half the children are malnourished. Look on YouTube and you will see the kind of massive bombs – “our” bombs – that the Saudis use against dirt-poor villages, and against weddings, and funerals. The explosions look like small atomic bombs. The bomb aimers in Saudi Arabia work side-by-side with British officers. This fact is not on the evening news.

Propaganda is most effective when our consent is engineered by those with a fine education – Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Columbia — and with careers on the BBC, the Guardian, the New York Times, the Washington Post. These organisations are known as the liberal media. They present themselves as enlightened, progressive tribunes of the moral zeitgeist. They are anti-racist, pro-feminist and pro-LGBT.

And they love war.

While they speak up for feminism, they support rapacious wars that deny the rights of countless women, including the right to life. In 2011, Libya, then a modern state, was destroyed on the pretext that Muammar Gaddafi was about to commit genocide on his own people. That was the incessant news; and there was no evidence. It was a lie.

In fact, Britain, Europe and the United States wanted what they like to call “regime change” in Libya, the biggest oil producer in Africa. Gaddafi’s influence in the continent and, above all, his independence were intolerable. So he was murdered with a knife in his rear by fanatics, backed by America, Britain and France. Hillary Clinton cheered his gruesome death for the camera, declaring, “We came, we saw, he died!”

The destruction of Libya was a media triumph. As the war drums were beaten, Jonathan Freedland wrote in the Guardian: “Though the risks are very real, the case for intervention remains strong.” Intervention — what a polite, benign, Guardian word, whose real meaning, for Libya, was death and destruction.

According to its own records, Nato launched 9,700 “strike sorties” against Libya, of which more than a third were aimed at civilian targets. They included missiles with uranium warheads. Look at the photographs of the rubble of Misurata and Sirte, and the mass graves identified by the Red Cross. The Unicef report on the children killed says, “most [of them] under the age of ten”. As a direct consequence, Sirte became the capital of ISIS.

Ukraine is another media triumph. Respectable liberal newspapers such as the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Guardian, and mainstream broadcasters such as the BBC, NBC, CBS, CNN have played a critical role in conditioning their viewers to accept a new and dangerous cold war. All have misrepresented events in Ukraine as a malign act by Russia when, in fact, the coup in Ukraine in 2014 was the work of the United States, aided by Germany and Nato.

This inversion of reality is so pervasive that Washington’s military intimidation of Russia is not news; it is suppressed behind a smear and scare campaign of the kind I grew up withduring the first cold war. Once again, the Ruskies are coming to get us, led by another Stalin, whom The Economist depicts as the devil.

The suppression of the truth about Ukraine is one of the most complete news blackouts I can remember. The fascists who engineered the coup in Kiev are the same breed that backed the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941. Of all the scares about the rise of fascist anti-Semitism in Europe, no leader ever mentions the fascists in Ukraine – except Vladimir Putin, but he does not count.

Many in the Western media have worked hard to present the ethnic Russian-speaking population of Ukraine as outsiders in their own country, as agents of Moscow, almost never as Ukrainians seeking a federation within Ukraine and as Ukrainian citizens resisting a foreign-orchestrated coup against their elected government.

There is almost the joie d’esprit of a class reunion of warmongers. The drum-beaters of the Washington Post inciting war with Russia are the very same editorial writers who published the lie that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

To most of us, the American presidential campaign is a media freak show, in which Donald Trump is the arch villain. But Trump is loathed by those with power in the United States for reasons that have little to do with his obnoxious behaviour and opinions. To the invisible government in Washington, the unpredictable Trump is an obstacle to America’s design for the 21st century.

This is to maintain the dominance of the United States and to subjugate Russia, and, if possible, China.

To the militarists in Washington, the real problem with Trump is that, in his lucid moments, he seems not to want a war with Russia; he wants to talk with the Russian president, not fight him; he says he wants to talk with the president of China. In the first debate with Hillary Clinton, Trump promised not to be the first to introduce nuclear weapons into a conflict. He said, “I would certainly not do first strike. Once the nuclear alternative happens, it’s over.” That was not news.

Did he really mean it? Who knows? He often contradicts himself. But what is clear is that Trump is considered a serious threat to the status quo maintained by the vast national security machine that runs the United States, regardless of who is in the White House. The CIA wants him beaten. The Pentagon wants him beaten. The media wants him beaten. Even his own party wants him beaten. He is a threat to the rulers of the world – unlike Clinton who has left no doubt she is prepared to go to war with nuclear-armed Russia and China.

Clinton has the form, as she often boasts. Indeed, her record is proven. As a senator, she backed the bloodbath in Iraq. When she ran against Obama in 2008, she threatened to “totally obliterate” Iran. As Secretary of State, she colluded in the destruction of governments in Libya and Honduras and set in train the baiting of China. She has now pledged to support a No Fly Zone in Syria — a direct provocation for war with Russia. Clinton may well become the most dangerous president of the United States in my lifetime –a distinction for which the competition is fierce.

Without a shred of evidence, she has accused Russia of supporting Trump and hacking her emails. Released by WikiLeaks, these emails tell us that what Clinton says in private, in speeches to the rich and powerful, is the opposite of what she says in public. That is why silencing and threatening Julian Assange is so important. As the editor of WikiLeaks, Assange knows the truth. And let me assure those who are concerned, he is well, and WikiLeaks is operating on all cylinders.

Today, the greatest build-up of American-led forces since World War Two is under way – in the Caucasus and eastern Europe, on the border with Russia, and in Asia and the Pacific, where China is the target. Keep that in mind when the presidential election circus reaches its finale on November 8th, If the winner is Clinton, a Greek chorus of witless commentators will celebrate her coronation as a great step forward for women. None will mention Clinton’s victims: the women of Syria, the women of Iraq, the women of Libya. None will mention the civil defence drills being conducted in Russia. None will recall Edward Bernays’ “torches of freedom”.

George Bush’s press spokesman once called the media “complicit enablers”.

Coming from a senior official in an administration whose lies, enabled by the media, caused such suffering, that description is a warning from history.

In 1946, the Nuremberg Tribunal prosecutor said of the German media: “Before every major aggression, they initiated a press campaign calculated to weaken their victims and to prepare the German people psychologically for the attack. In the propaganda system, it was the daily press and the radio that were the most important weapons.”

Syria is very interesting because superpowers accuse each other of bombing civilians.

Serbia is again collateral damage there. Here is how. Russia asked Serbia to prepare some help for Syrian civilians and when all was ready they came with Russian planes, took it to Syria and parachuted Serbian help to Syrian civilians. Well, those from the West didn't appreciate that Serbia is sending help to Syria using Russian planes and now they criticise them for that.

US may ‘navigate & direct’ ISIS terrorists from Mosul into Syria – Assad aide
The way the US-led coalition is conducting its Mosul siege suggests Washington might be planning to “navigate” Islamic State terrorists into Syria in accordance with its longstanding strategy for the region, President Assad’s media adviser told RT.

Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists potentially fleeing from Mosul into Syria would become a “huge danger to our sovereignty, to our country,” Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban said.

“Russia and Syria are looking at this issue extremely seriously. We’re not going to sit and watch… The way they encircle Mosul shows they would like these terrorists to move into to Syria…,” Shaaban told RT.

“They’re navigating terrorism from one place to another, limiting terrorism in one place, directing it to another place. That’s the absolute truth of what is happening in our region,” she explained.

Western states only “speak about fighting terrorism” and in meantime supply so-called “moderates” who eagerly share Western aid with not so “moderate” militants, according to the aide.

“Unfortunately, Western partners speak about fighting terrorism, but they honestly do not. Quite the contrary, what they do on the ground is to supply weapons and armaments to terrorists whom they call ‘moderate’, while we know that on the ground there’s no ‘moderate terrorism.’ They all exchange weapons and armaments on the ground. And they all constitute danger not only to Syria, but to the region and to mankind as well,” Shaaban said.

“We see Western countries announcing that they will be supporting what they call ‘Syrian moderates’. There are no ‘Syrian moderates’, they are carrying on butchering people. Those are not ‘moderates’ for sure.”

A never-ending storm in Western media, which are trying to diminish all the counter-terrorism efforts of Damascus and its allies, is a deliberate campaign that started at the very beginning of the Syrian crisis, Shaaban said. It was always “absolutely incredible, full of lies and falsifications” and totally “irrelevant to reality.”

“One of the great challenges we’re facing in the 21st century is the Western corporate media, that is no longer a media that depends on investigation, or cares about its credibility, or cares about the truth. Give me the names of Western journalists who are on the ground on Syria and who are actually looking at what is happening and reporting to Western people…”

The attempts to pin the alleged airstrike on an Idlib school on Damascus or Moscow is one of the most recent examples of that campaign. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, which debunked the Idlib “hoax,” the latest smear campaign is waged with a purpose to diverse the attention of international community away from the “war crimes committed by the US-led coalition” during the Mosul offensive.

The US-led coalition and the US itself proved to be very untrustworthy partners in battling terrorism, unable to live up to their pledges, she said.

“Russia signed an agreement with the United States and the United States was not able to implement its own agreement… The Pentagon prevented the White House from implementing an agreement.”

Following Friday’s meeting between Russian, Iranian and Syrian diplomats, Shaaban said Damascus is interested in attracting additional “credible” partners to the alliance, in order to battle the “most challenging” issue of our age.

“We’re in an alliance against terrorism, we’re in a war against terrorism, we have so many joint interests among our countries. … [The meeting was] focused on what is the best way to try and gather more regional and international forces to truly and honestly engage in a battle against terrorism, as we all understand that terrorism is the most challenging issue for the humanity in the 21st century,” Assad’s adviser said.

Damascus believes more countries will join in the counter-terrorism alliance of Russia, Iran and Syria, Shaaban said.

“I’m sure this nucleus of alliance is going to attract more countries. Now, if you think of India, or Brazil, or South Africa, or Algeria, or Tunisia, naturally you believe that there’s no problem that these countries probably in the future joining… I’m sure there are many countries who would like to be more active, China for example, who should be more active in fighting terrorism.”

it of course is now long clear to much of the world =- including the terrorists and perpetrators of global terrorism...

that the PERPETRATORS ARE

THE USA - AND ITS EUROPEAN ALLIES and their ''non-european" allies - everyone knows who they are with their black gold...

in other words - let us keep it simple = elegantly simple:

the governments and their allied corporations in their ''common interest" of money and profits and ''supremacy" -- of the USA -- NATO, UK, EUROPEAN POWERS and their allies like saudi arabia , israel, etc...are

ARE TERRORIST STATES who USE terrorism as the global ''chaos project".

THERE IS SIMPLY no other way to put it.

Hillary Clinton is now on record saying Saudi Arabia and Qatar fund and support ISIS. So what did she do about it? She took their money, and sent them arms. Mainstream media won’t touch this with a 10-foot pole.

WikiLeaks have released an email in which Hillary Clinton admits that Qatar and Saudi Arabia – two of her mega-donors – provide financial and logistical support to ISIS.

In the extraordinary email, sent to John Podesta in 2014, Clinton lays out an eight point plan to defeat ISIS in Iraq, and mentions that Saudi Arabia and Qatar are both giving financial and logistical support to the Islamic State and other extremist Sunni groups.
IMG_0778.jpg

She conveniently fails to mention that these two terror-funding states are both mega-donors to the Clinton Foundation. Qatar has given between $1 million and $5 million to the Clinton Foundation and Saudi Arabia has donated upwards of $25 million dollars to the Foundation.

Nowhere in the email – sent, of course, through the notorious unsecured server – does Clinton address the staggering hypocrisy of continuing to provide Saudi Arabia with multiple billions in weapons, arms, aircraft, and other support in full knowledge of its active support for terrorists.

Hillary Clinton has known since at least 2014 that the governments of Saudi Arabia and Qatar provide “clandestine financial and logistic support” to ISIS and other radical Islamic groups – but, rather than refuse their money and call for a halt of arms sales and support, she has campaigned for more money and tried to increase their supply of arms.

Arming ISIS

In an email revealed in the Intercept earlier this year, Jake Sullivan, then Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, celebrated the sale to Saudi Arabia of more than 80 Boeing F-15SA fighter jets – “along with upgrades to the pre-existing Saudi fleet of 70 F-15 aircraft and munitions, spare parts, training, maintenance, and logistics” – with the heading addressed to Clinton, “FYI — good news.”

Good news – at least for Clinton, Saudi Arabia, and ISIS. And evidence of the cozy love-in doesn’t stop there. Ever wonder what a Clinton administration’s top priorities will be? Jobs? Healthcare? Education? More like arming ISIS. A top Clinton aide described a $60 billion weapons transfer of fighter jets and helicopters to Saudi Arabia as a “top priority.”

Saudi Arabia is the largest customer of U.S. military sales in the world with “active and open cases valued at approximately $97 billion,” according to a White House fact sheet that championed the U.S.’ strong relationship with the terror-sponsoring state.

Media blackout

Even in a period of America’s history in which mainstream media repeats what one of the most powerful political dynasties in the country keeps on repeating to exhaustion – accusing Russia of “rigging” the U.S. election without offering any proof to back their claims – it is still astonishing that major outlets are refusing to report on this story.

Is it that Qatar’s and Saudi Arabia’s funding of ISIS – while funding their favorite American candidate at the same time – is a difficult issue to report on? Or is the gutless and hopelessly biased media’s refusal to cover this topic rooted in fear that thoroughly addressing it will cause her to lose the presidential election?

The press have given Clinton a free ride in this campaign. By failing to live up to their duties in a functioning democracy, the fourth estate have played their part in erecting a demon. Unencumbered by the law, unscrutinized by the media, Clinton will wield a dictator’s authority.

The testimony of Archbishop of Aleppo

The whole world is terrified at the sight of the images from Aleppo that the mass media have been presenting in recent days. Many of our friends abroad are concerned and want to hear from us. We are living tragic moments in our history and what’s happening here continues to make Aleppo and its people suffer, people that for more than five years have been unable to have peace, so harassed and massacred by armed groups that have come from all over the world, to conduct a self-styled holy war, in a country governed (according to them) by atheists and infidels!

For five years now the terrorists here have been calling the shots, where the civil authorities of the country have not managed to be present. They have sown terror everywhere, killed tens of thousands of innocent people, destroyed thousands of factories, businesses and institutions of public services, looted houses and stolen, without any concern, assets of the country and the citizens. They have made victims of many innocent people, kidnapping and brutally murdering countless peaceful people, including nuns, priests and even bishops.

This still going on today: this morning a dozen shells fell in two of our residential areas, causing further destruction and in one neighborhood, numerous deaths and injuries.

Battles are raging on the outskirts of the city: the rebels from the “Al-Nusra Front” are attempting to take positions in areas considered strategic, almost completely depopulated and almost entirely destroyed, that they seized and held until last June at the city’s edge. Images of these places of utter desolation are spread widely by the TV networks.

And it is there that the great battles now going on are taking place. Three weeks ago we put high hopes on the ceasefire, hoping it would enable peace-making followed by national reconciliation and a resumption of normal life in the country! Unfortunately this truce, weakened by continued violations by the radical opponents, was officially broken in recent days, by the unexpected raid by the coalition allied to the rebels in Deir-El-Zor.

These raids were on a Syrian army military base and killed more than 90 soldiers in their barracks, not to mention the number of undeclared injured. Is that the way to stop the fighting?

Therefore we hope and we are counting on the grace of God, the only one able to arouse the conscience of the great decision-makers. The terrifying spectacle of what happens has to shake every man that respects the sanctity of human life. So if Mr. Staffan de Mistura can manage to revive the peace process, we can hope for a bright spell and perhaps even for the concrete results of peace, the sine qua non for the foundation of the long-awaited dialogue.

The hardest thing for Christians who are currently present in Aleppo would be the prospect of having to live, morning and evening, in anxiety in this situation of insecurity: destabilizing disconcerting uncertainty. They are afraid for the next day, and the future of their children troubles them greatly. Imagine that one day a Muslim fundamentalist state would be imposed on them — for them this is an unbearable nightmare.

This is why we turn to our brothers in France and throughout the West, and we beg you to help us ensure that this does not happen. We are not asking you to make war for us, but only to end the unjust claims of your allies that want to impose antiquated laws, laws that are unbearable for the people of the twenty-first century who want to be free to choose their culture, their style life and, finally, their faith. We call on our brothers in France to pray for us and all women and all men concerned about human dignity and love of freedom, to come to our rescue to save our dear country from the depth of the fundamentalist regime they are trying to put us in. Please help us to continue to live in dignity on this blessed land of our birth!

Aleppo, 28 settembre 2016 (translated from Italian)

Aleppo terrorists shell escape routes, take $300 bribe per fleeing civilian – Russia’s MoD
Terrorists in Aleppo show no sign of deescalating attacks on residential areas and humanitarian corridors, Russia’s Defense Ministry says. Only 12 people managed to flee the jihadist-controlled area overnight, and only after paying a hefty bribe.

The price of civilian freedom was valued at roughly $300 a head, an astronomical figure for the Aleppo residents who have been under the terrorists’ yoke for years.

Commenting on the development of the Russian humanitarian pause, established on October 20 to secure the release of civilians via six specially-created escape routes, the Russian Ministry of Defense noted that on Saturday night only 12 Syrians had managed to flee east Aleppo. The MoD noted that terrorists in Aleppo continue to intensively shell the residential areas and humanitarian corridors.

“Last night 12 Syrians managed to move to safe districts through one of the corridors, in Al-Masharqa,” the ministry's official spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday morning.

“According to refugees, it [the escape] became possible after a bribe to one of field commanders at a price of 150,000 Syrian liras [around $300] for every person. In order to collect 1.8 million liras, the three families had to sell all their belongings,” he noted.

The humanitarian pause is the only lifeline extended to civilians in east Aleppo, as the Russian and Syrian Air Forces continue to observe a no-fly-zone over Aleppo, staying at least 10km from the city.

“Russian and Syrian aircraft have not performed any flights over the city of Aleppo for 13 days already,” the general said. “For comparison, the US-led international coalition has delivered nine airstrikes over the last 24 hours at residential quarters of an Iraqi city with a population of over 1 million people – Mosul.”

As Damascus and Moscow stopped carrying out airstrikes in eastern Aleppo, the US-supported Iraqi offensive has unleashed a reign of fire on Mosul.

“Since the campaign for Mosul started, the coalition has delivered almost 2,500 close air support bombs and missiles, artillery rounds and HIMARS rockets on enemy targets since the battle started on October 17,” Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Colonel John Dorrian said on Friday.

Konashenkov called these strikes “indiscriminate” questioning if “the coalition observes international humanitarian law,” as the general noted that that two out of nine airstrikes conducted by the US-supported coalition on Saturday were carried out over the city using “B-52H strategic bombers.”

Earlier, Russia accused the US of bombing heavily-populated civilian areas, including two schools. On Saturday, the Pentagon promised to investigate information offered by the Russian General Staff on the alleged bombing of an Iraqi school by US warplanes in the village of Tall Kayf on October 24.

Russia has been assisting the Syrian Army in fighting Al-Nusra Front terrorists in eastern Aleppo, which has become the militants’ stronghold in Syria. However, the West has accused Moscow and Damascus of causing civilian casualties and suffering in the area, seemingly disregarding atrocities caused by jihadists.

10yo Syrian girl gets prosthetic legs in Moscow after bomb attack, now runs & plays soccer
A 10-year-old girl who lost her legs in a terrorist attack in Aleppo and was taken from Syria to Moscow for surgery has finally completed her course of treatment. She can now play soccer, has picked up some Russian and is ready to return home to her relatives.

Sidra Zaarur, who came to Moscow in June along with her mother for bone realignment surgery on her legs, has fully recovered and is now again able to walk, run and even play soccer. She has made a number of friends at the hospital she was taken to, learned Russian quite well and is now dreaming of coming back to Russia to become a doctor.

Sidra is currently getting ready to go back to school and hopes to return to her hometown of Aleppo once militants leave the city.

“They helped me a lot in Russia. I can walk, run and play again. When the war is over, we will live in Aleppo. I wish that terrorists would go away. Why did they come and shoot at us? We lived so well when there was no war. Those who help them should take them back,” the girl said, almost breaking into tears.

Her mother said: “Our family is very grateful to Russia. Thanks to Russian doctors, my daughter now feels healthy, she communicates and plays with other children. She could have been an invalid for her whole life in Syria, since our hospitals don’t have that kind of equipment.”

The mother also addressed the issue of making a distinction between terrorists and so-called moderate opposition backed by the US-led coalition.

“The US thinks they [moderate opposition fighters] are freedom fighters and helps them but in fact they are mere terrorists who have no mercy for neither children, nor women, nor old people… There is no way these animals could be justified. I believe, the war will be over when the US stops backing them,” she added.

Sidra was wounded on April 16 when terrorists attacked Aleppo with “hand-made mortars that shot gas cylinders,” the Russian Defense Ministry press service reported at the time.

Sidra saw her three-year-old nephew and older sister die in the attack, which naturally resulted in severe psychological trauma. Apart from providing the young Syrian with prosthetic legs, Russian doctors also helped her get over the death of her close relatives.

In May, Sidra and her mom were transported in an Ilyushin Il-76 plane equipped with an aeromedical kit from the Khmeimim airbase in Latakia province to Moscow following a request approved by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.

Statistical Propaganda: How many Syrians has US regime-change killed?

October 31, 2016 - Fort Russ -
Aleksandr Khrolenko, RIA Analytics - translated by J. Arnoldski -

Hardly a day goes by without foreign media circulating the false accusations that the leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic is guilty of the deaths of hundreds of thousands and even millions of Syrians. Even authoritative international organizations are cited as the sources of the dissemination of such information.
In July 2013, according to UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, the death toll in Syria exceeded 100 thousand.
In October 2014, the Jordanian prince and UN high commissioner for human rights, Zeid Raad al-Hussein, determined the number of people killed in Syria to be 200,000.
By October 2015, according to UN figures, the number of killed in Syria was more than 240,000.
In September 2016, the UN officially presented the figure of 300,000 Syrians killed and more than half of the Syrian population as refugees.
According to the Dubai news channel “Al-Arabiya,” in October 2015, the number of killed had already surpassed 250,000. The New York Times produced similar figures.
After the beginning of the Russian air force’s operation in Syria, the figures of casualties presented by Western sources did not change for the better. Of course, the countries participating in the conflict “correct” the data in favor of their interests and many media outlets operate with unverified information from the Supervisory Board on Human Rights of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights created by the opposition.
How objective are these disseminated figures?
The Russian Institute of Oriental Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences has conducted its own study using data from the Central Statistical Bureau of Syria. This was reported at a press conference entitled “Syria: The Thorny Path to Reconciliation” at the Russia Today media agency by the UN’s senior advisor and representative on Syria, Russian Academy of Science correspondent Vitaliy Naumkin.
In 2011, the population of Syria amounted to 22.51 million people. According to the figures of the Syrian Central Statistical Bureau, the Syrian Arab Republic’s population has declined to 17.87 million.
Given the average growth rate of the population excluding refugees, the total number for today was supposed to be 24.64 million people. As of October 20th, 2016, the number of Syrian citizens (including emigrants) is 24.54 million.
Given correct calculations, the number of Syrians killed over five years of war has been determined, taking into consideration that around 7 million people have left Syria as refugees.
According to the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the total number of Syrians killed is 105,000. The losses of the government army and militia amount to 45,000. 24,000 militants of terrorist organizations from among the local population have been killed, and 35,000 civilians have been killed. The largest number of civilians have been killed at the hands of jihadists and the so-called “moderate opposition.” Around 18,000 in Syria have been killed by foreign mercenaries of terrorist groups including citizens from 80 countries.
Earlier, the ex-head of the Israeli secret services Nativ, Yaakov Kedmi, presented almost identical figures of Syrian losses (around 40,000 civilians).
American assessments, as a rule, range from several hundred thousand to millions killed, which is beyond the boundaries of reality.
But the point is not even in the statistics. The death of people in principle should not become an object of political speculation or an instrument of information war. American lies on the number of people killed in Syria is doubly disgusting because it is the US that developed and attempted to realize regime-change projects against unfavorable leaders in a number of Middle Eastern and African “rouge states” by means of terrorists from “moderate oppositions” and fomenting civil wars...
The American coalition does not want to publicize the civilian losses resultant of their air strikes on ISIS in Iraq. And yet the coalition has repeatedly hurled accusations against others for losses among the civilian population. During the Iraq War (2003-2011), 460,000 Iraqis were killed. The assault on Mosul is also resulting in many victims among the civilian population.
Palestinian political analyst Azzam Abu Saud remarked in the Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen: “The US has made a mass of mistakes in Syria. The war in Syria never would have been so bloody if the US had not supplied weapons to rebels. The US, in addition, created the Islamic State, which has now spun out of their control.”
Another Norwegian publication, ABC Nyheter, adds: “The US claims that only 55 civilians and 45,000 militants from ISIS and other militant Islamists have been killed as a result of more than 11,000 coalition airstrikes on ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria since 2014…Even when the American leadership is presented with the lists of civilians killed in Syria and Iraq and their photographs, they refuse to acknowledge their deaths.”

The Russian approach to resolving the Syrian and other Middle Eastern conflicts remains the same: there is no military solution. Success is possible only through dialogue and national reconciliation.

Well, those from the West didn't appreciate that Serbia is sending help to Syria using Russian planes and now they criticise them for that.

it should be added that it is in fact yugoslavia, serbia -- thyat was used by BILL CLINTON AND HILLARY -- brzezinski, ablright -- and company

as the ''laboratory" for the USA'S NOW notorious ''color revolutions, balkanization" and slicing down countries ''to manage them more easily".

SEEN in their ''full spectrum dominance" project of american empire...

applied - to what the neo-con-neo-liberals proclaimed

would be ''TAKE DOWN SEVEN MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICAN COUNTRIES" TO ''reshape them" as america wished.

that's so - far

IRAQ, LIBYA,

egypt , tunisia, yemen can be added as ''attempts" -and of course it si SYRIA'S turn -- =-=on the march to IRAN -- and then Moscow.
and the WEAPON of choice AFTER the ''chaos" - is of coruse TERRORISM to drive the terrorism army into central asia and russia and eventually of course china from xinjian west china province...like a ''from inside asia" strategy while surrounding the superocntinent with ''martime power"

thos comes straighjt out from a combination of

late 19th century BRITISH theorist HAROLD MACKINDER'S DREAM

"who RULES THE EASTERN flank (balkans, east europe)
rules the HEARTLAND (RUSSIA)
''who rules the heartland - rules the WORLD ISLAND (eurasia)
"who rules the world island -- rules the world"

add to THAT brzezinski's ''we have given russia her very own vietnam" TERRORISM project started in central asia of afghanistan..

giving birht to TODAY'S projects..

MIX that with ALBRIGHT'S ''sanctions" and ''NATO" BOMBINGS of serbia, iraq, etc. et.c

and voila

the full hideous glory of the american /western empire

Assad to US media on leading Syria: ‘Captain of the ship doesn’t jump into water’

Syrian President Bashar Assad called out Western media for vilifying him while at the same time whitewashing terrorists as “freedom fighters” to paint a “black-and-white” picture of the war in Syria, as he pledged to not leave office until his term expires.

Assad spoke on Syria’s and his personal future as the country’s leader at the meeting with US media that took place in Damascus on Monday evening.

Reflecting on being labeled a “war criminal” by the mainstream media, which attribute the death of thousands of civilians to the Syrian government’s anti-terrorist campaign, he said that the support he still enjoys with the Syrian people after over five years into the conflict does not fit into this narrative.

“Let’s suppose that these allegations are correct and this is a president who is killing his own people and committed crimes, and the ‘free world’ and the West is helping the Syrian people against the bad guy,” Assad said, as cited by the New Yorker, adding that if this was the case, he would have lost all public support a long time ago.

“How can I be president if I am killing my people and my people are against me? This is disconnected from reality,” Assad added. He pointed to a lack of media attention toward the terrorists’ atrocities in Syria, with “no one talking about war crimes” committed by militants fighting against the Syrian Army.

“The headline is ‘The bad president, the bad guy, is killing the good guys. They [the terrorists] are the freedom fighters,” the Syrian leader said, lamenting what he said was distorted, “black-and-white” media coverage.

Assad said he believes he should serve his seven-year presidential term, which began in 2014 after he claimed a landslide victory securing almost 90 percent of the vote in presidential elections, in full, not to betray the trust of the people who cast ballots for him.

“If you’re the captain of the ship, when you have a storm, you don’t jump in the water. You lead it to shore,” Assad said.

Assad argued that many of his political opponents who previously opposed the ruling Ba’ath Party have taken his side under the circumstances of wartime as they fear Syria’s statehood might be dismantled and jihadists will take over the country in case his government collapses.

Asma Assad: ‘It is the West dividing our children in this conflict’
“They [the opposition] learned the value of the state,” the Syrian leader said, as cited by the New York Times, adding that the possibility of descending into chaos “brought them towards us” and “not because they changed their mind politically.”

While the mainstream Western media was quick to blame Assad for war crimes for what they claimed was indiscriminate bombing campaign in eastern Aleppo, the Syrian president responded by citing international law violations committed by the West such as the Iraq invasion and chaos in Libya, which is still reeling from its civil war and is currently on the brink of economic collapse.

“We’re not the ones who attacked Iraq without a mandate from the United Nations – it was the United States and Britain and her allies. It wasn’t us who attacked Libya and destroyed the government,” Assad told the New Yorker, adding that Western powers have no right to intervene into the internal affairs of countries if they don’t like the political course their government follows.

“Even if you have the worst government in Libya, it’s not your mission, the United States or any other government, to change the government of foreign countries,” he stressed, adding that that a similar threat is hanging over Syria, as he believes the US in Syria is aimed not on fighting terrorism but rather on ousting the Syrian government.

“In reality, everything the United States has been doing in Syria, at least since what they call the international alliance against ISIS [Islamic State], is to expand ISIS. The real reason is about toppling the government,” Assad said.

Assad believes that one of the crucial moments for Syria returning back to normal life will be underpinning the secular principles of the state, while simultaneously uprooting ideas of radical Islam that rejects any other worldview.

“Secular means freedom of religion,” Assad said. “Islamization means ‘I don’t believe in anyone who doesn’t look like me, behaves like me, thinks like me.’”

Assad also explained that Syrian government has not cut all ties with the West, and carries on a dialogue with some Western countries, including with the US, “through different channels.” However, he stressed that Syria has no intention to turn into “a puppet country,” The New York Times quotes.

Commenting on Assad’s statement, John Kirby, spokesperson for the US State Department, reiterated the US position on the Syrian president staying in power, insisting that Assad must not be a “part of the long-term future of Syria” and adding that “nothing’s changed” in the American administration view on the issue.

a little known point...
back in 2015 -- when syria was nearly extinguished as a country by the USA , WESTERN and ''allies" Terrorist HORDES WHICH THEY enabled , and protected -- while pretending to 'fight terrorism".

and IRAN was basically the only one sending military assistance in a very limited way to syria --

the IRANIANS (THEY revealed much later after RUSSIA had come at ASSADS'S REQUEST)
said:

"when we saw damascus was about to fall -- with terrorists already controlling large sections of the city -- we offered for President ASSAD TO flee to TEHRAN and from here direct the defense ...
he refused -- saying: "my family and i will have the same fate as the rest of my people".

later assad responded to the matter about ''support" for his government...

"if the syrian people one day decide they don't want me anymore -- of course i will step down...I came home to syria to take up the responsibility after my father's death and my brother was dead -- and i would have prefered not to - but it is the only way to hold the country together...as responsibly as i coul;d. but to be truthful..

''so long as i can see the country is together as a sovereign country as we have been for thousands of years.. and i were to step down if my people don't want me anymore -- i am not going to force myself on them..and would gladly go back to a quiet life and become a doctor and heal people again...and spend time with my family".

True, but don't forget Wesley Clark who is now organising army attack with 68 generals on Trump to make him look worse than his pal Clinton.

Notice how the election campaign for Hilary was all cia for months until last week when fbi took over against them and now Clark wants to introduce army in Hilary's favour.

as the pause is established by russia and syria to allow citizens to escape from the terrorists that are holding them hostage as human shields...

and to allow the terrorists by many names (including their - good for primetime tv ''white helmets'' FAKE humanitarian ''volunteers" exposed as funded by westerners and literally managed by big PR firms, lol)

the terrorists are given a last chance, presumably to end their occupation of aleppo - leave with their weapons and be escorted to where they will be dealt with properly if they so wish...or else batten down and be destroyed like the filth that they are -- along with whichever FOREIGN WESTERN ''HANDLERS" THEY have hiding with them...lol..

RUSSIA is issuing the 10-hour limit before the syrian army comes in, end of story...and providing a LIVE-FEED right now...to ensure the world sees there is NO HANKY PANKY from the american-supported TERRORISTS...like they did in september 'bombing of un aid".

FORT RUSS

ALEPPO: Russia declares new humanitarian pause, Lavrov demands US compliance

November 3, 2016 - Fort Russ News -
TV Zvezda reports - translated by J. Arnoldski -

A humanitarian pause in the Syrian city of Aleppo has been declared by Russia and Syria for November 4th from 09:00 to 19:00.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valeriy Gerasimov, stated: “In order to avoid senseless victims, the Minister of Defense of Russia, General Sergei Shoigy, on behalf of the Supreme commander of Chief, Vladimir Putin, has taken the decision to introduce a humanitarian pause in Aleppo on November 4th from 9 in the morning to 19 in the evening.”
According to Gerasimov, this decision has been agreed upon with the leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic.
***
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on his visit to Athens, Greece that Russia expects concrete results from negotiations with the American side on regulating the situation in Syrian Aleppo.
According to the minister, Moscow counts on Washington carrying out agreements and not acting as it did with the Syrian agreements from September 9th.
Lavrov is convinced that there is still no alternative to joint work on regulating the Syrian crisis. For dialogue, Washington will need to reconsider its attitude towards Moscow, he stressed.
Lavrov stated: “Our problems began once the US saw that we will not salute them every time we discuss some kind of international problem with them and when they saw that President Putin is restoring the independence of our foreign policy strictly in the framework of international law.”
“No one in this world can do anything alone anymore, therefore one has to negotiate anyway. The sooner this happens, the better,” the foreign minister added.

Lavrov also noted that channels of communication with the Americans in Syria are still in tact.
A map of the humanitarian corridors open for militants and civilians to leave designated Aleppo areas during the humanitarian pause has been released by the Ministry of Defense of Russia:

incidentally these ''WHITE HELMETS" financed and supported and PRed from britain, and france and usa --

are soooooooo obvious -- they even didn't bother to remember that USING THE SAME ''victims" and girls and boys -- who miraculously ''survive through the heroism of the WHITE HELMETS" (with their COOL selfies and pretty , handsome smiles from paris and london and europe) --

and equally miraculously re-appear in ONE city from homs to aleppo

as ''victims" -- is so AMATEURISH -- that they REALLY need to STOP .....

I SHOULD also be noted that

RUSSIA -- UPON INVITATION BY EGYPT has just finished

military cooperation against terrorism exercises in egypt ...

egyptian officers are not just arriving in syria to join in the common effort to DESTROY these FOREIGN-BACKED -- AMERICAN IMPERIAL LED

TERRORISTS AND THEIR ILK.

ADDITIONALLY -- these SAME terrorists and their ideology -- are of the SAME PAGE as the

ABU SAYYAF islamist terrorists , kidnappers, headchoppers in MY country philippines who have been there for decades

FUNDED BY the SAME SAUDI wahhabists in their global terror

for 'regime change'

IN CAHOOTS WITH THE CIA AND USA and western empire --

USING the MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD extremist terrorist ideology from DECADES ago -- that the CIA and USA have long partnered with to justify its PRESENCE as 'liberator" and '=fighter against terrorism>

they are clearly also part of the CIA terror operation of decades now that has SPREAD DRUG ADDICTION to destroy a country or render it ''dependent" some more to ''american presence" (more camps, more troops, more 'counter drug' operation, more ''counter terror" operation) -

to epidemic proportions -- (while afghanistan serves as the USA'S PRIVATE HEROIN AND OPIUM AND METH factory and plantation --producing 90 percent of global produce) -

which the USA AND ''humanitarian west and UN" now accuse THE philippine president duterte of ''mass killings, extrajudicial humanitarian crimes"

setting the stage for ''regime change? " perhaps ?

BECAUSE HE declared he is sick and tired of

"the USA for a hundred years treating us like a Dog on a Leash -- son-of a bitch obama"

and IS MAKING SERIOUS MOVES TO PARTNER WITH CHINA AND RUSSIA...

THE BIGGEST NO NO to the USA EMPIRE OF TERROR!
