syria IS ONLY one of the long, u-ending american BESTIALITY that it really is that BEGAN with the ''pioneers" that 'created" america -- couched in ''good guy" clothes -- what we see in syria, is just one example and merely an updated version of the SAME trait and CORRUPT CORE of what america REALLY has always been..

all the racism, the penchant for greed, selfishness, conquest, invasion, prejudice, lying, double-standards, untrustworthiness...enslavement, genocide, everything for MONEY, MONYE, MONEY and consume and leave a TRAIL OF MISERY..

Of Monuments and America and the Division of People and State | New Eastern Outlook
Author: Phil Butler
For more than three years now I have worried for my people. America, the place I grew up, has a dark shadow looming over it today. It is an ominous harbinger unseen by many, and one which most people are reticent to deal with. The people of my country are completely isolated and separate, from those who govern. This is a short story on how America is being lost.

The United States is bitterly divided along socio-economic lines, but especially where government for the people is concerned. While most people have realized this for some time, having recourse to do anything about it is another matter. The recent DNC rigging of a convention is proof that government is not on the up-and-up, but the people still stand idly by. Our internal and external policies are a disaster. The world grows to hate us. And millions suffer underneath the gaze of their fellow countrymen inside the US. We all know this instinctively, and concretely, but we choose to turn a blind eye. Our leaders, our media, our corporations are destroying what America once stood for, and the world around us. And they are calling their efforts progress. The lie has become the truth.

Since the US orchestrated coup d’état in Kiev in February of 2014 I have known war was coming to the world. In the months and years hence, I have taken the side of moderation; I’ve tried to uproot the truth in 1000 reports, investigations, researching 100,000 or more media and academic sources, and in interviewing or communicating with the principle people involved in conflict. My “journey” began with a series of reports about the unsportsmanlike policies aimed at Russia’s Sochi Olympics that same February. The day RT called me for a surprise interview, I was astonished more by Barack Obama’s and western media’s unbelievable assault on those Olympics and Vladimir Putin. The lies and defamation that ensued were unprecedented. But the whole affair was, as I have learned, part of a larger plan to bring Russia to her knees. Euromaidan and the Sochi mud slinging were orchestrated to humiliate Russia, and to put Vladimir Putin on the defensive when he was focused on good.

The rest will be catalogued in one of the strangest volumes of human history ever written, I have no doubt. The level of lies and deceit, of misinformation being disseminated today, it’s beyond normal belief. We may as well be in a nightmare, a collective and unending Greek tragedy where heroes are villains and vice versa. Something I was studying today brought this reality spinning home to me – how a great gift from the Russian people shows our unnatural divide. The Tear of Grief memorial is a titanium, bronze, nickel and marble icon of friendship, and a human offering spit upon by our elites.

Some reading this may have seen Facebook shares telling about how Russia was the only nation to give such a monument to us in consoling for 9/11. You may also have wondered how come it took a Facebook post for you to learn of Russia’s condolences. A friend of mine actually shared the Tear Drop with me the other day. He asked; “Phil, how come we did not know about this?” The friend’s name is Bobby Mallard, he’s a high school chum, so he won’t mind me telling you. I told Bobby it was because our leaders cannot afford for the people to revise their history, to which he replied:

“It was a lie so politicians and arms suppliers could profit even during the Cold War years. I am just amazed how our lives are controlled by the media.”

Bobby was always a nice guy, someone who loved cars. He’s now a business manager of a large auto dealership in Georgia, not too far from where we grew up. He is, maybe the best example I can give of hard working decent Americans waking up to the fact we’re in real trouble. What Bobby may have already discovered, is the in depth and ghastly story of this present from the Russian people to us. So let me tell you.

This 10–story sculpture created by Zurab Tsereteli, was given to the United States as an official gift of the Russian government as a memorial to the victims of the September 11 attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The solid Nickel tear drop at its center is a haunting reminder, of the tears shed by out nation after the dastardly destruction of our safe-secure nation’s essence. After 9/11 everything changed you know. It may also interest you to know, it was Vladimir Putin who attended the official dedication of this monument of caring and friendship. But this irony is puny compared to what I am about to tell you.

Not only were Americans uniformed about this magnificent gesture, the city of New Jersey turned down the offering from the start. A mighty friend across the seas wanted to give a reminder of solidarity, and New Jersey refused! And on behalf of all Americans! Finally, the monument was put at its current location in Bayonne, roughly five miles across the harbor from where the Twin Towers once stood. Bear with me, the insult and injury gets much worse.

After the Tears Monument was unveiled US media began its battle to either ignore the gift, or to criticize or belittle the gesture and the artwork. Now get this, the Fox News headline read “Bogus Names Feared on New Jersey Sept. 11 Monument” – as some of the marble plates contained the wrong names. Other media railed at the Russians for having created an ugly monstrosity. The Foreign Policy Magazine said it was “one of the world’s ugliest statues”, while Pro Arts Jersey City called it “an insensitive, self-aggrandizing piece of pompousness by one of the world’s blatant self-promoters”. The media and our leadership were severely unkind (as nice as I can be), insensitive, and bombastic against a genuine offering of care. I know some of you feel me here, but wait.

The scant stories of Russia’s uncommon gesture back in 2006 can now be looked at objectively. When The New York Times or the Washington Post fail to report on the other side of Gaza, Syria, Ukraine, or Libya now, we can gather that misinformation and propaganda are also about what is “NOT” said. Americans have no idea the depth of kindness and good spiritedness Russians feel for them. All that most people know is that Russia is aggressive! Putin is a strongman! And that Obama is good. That is it. Now the plan is to move the Tears Monument someplace else! Yes, it turns out the climate of America-Russia relations, the business need for the property the monument stands on, it’s made for a call to put the memorial someplace else. Hoboken maybe? But here’s the conclusion you were waiting for.

When the Foreign Policy magazine was belittling this monumental gesture, guess what the American people who visited had to say? The everyday person who visits says the monument is a “breathtakingly beautiful creation”, or that it’s “incredible and meaningful”, the park visitors are awestruck at the way artist Zurab Tsereteli has captured the magnitude of grief. And guess what else? Bayonne’s own Robert “Captain Bob” Terzi, a taxi driver has started a petition to fight the monument’s relocation. Forget that officials fought to locate Russia’s singular gesture at the butt-end of New York harbor. Please ignore the fact ALL of our media tried to cover up the gift. But you must remember that a people our leaders now make vile villains, a leader our corporate owned lackeys ridicule daily, gave when giving counted.

Think about how divided we are, with our press and government on one side, and decent caring people on the other. I’ll leave you with your thoughts now, but consider one last thing. No Russian flag adorned American Facebook profile pictures, the White House did not weep when Russians were blown out of the Egyptian sky by terrorists. There is no 10 story tall titanium, bronze, and nickel statue in Russia. All they have is venom, ire, and ignorance from us.

The US is losing a grip on the Syrian situation.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-09-...izes-ground-in-major-aleppo-offensive/7874866

Major mistake by the US bombing the government troops just before the ceasefire was about to begin.

this is now one week late.

it's gone far beyond that now.
but first -- sequences of events:

1) USA - HITS syrian army inside the population area of Deir-es-zor within an oil rich area held by the ISIL supported by the USA (THIS is beyond clear now -- and the USA can no longer, in fact, NO longer denies it -- )
this position ha NEVER been hit by american/coalition, including australia, uk, qatar, etc) in ALL the years it was controlled by ISIL ..
IN THE recent weeks it was retaken to a degree by the syrian army - barely - considering they are spread out in their country...and it was basically ''--suddenly -- after - USA-admitted reconnaissance for days with all their high tech abilities --

they make the 'mistake'..

hitting syrian forces on the INSIDE part of the hill protecting syrian retaken territory..with the terrorists on the OTHER ''Outside" part of the hill requiring THEM to first climb UP and over the hilltop to overwhelm the syrian forces..how can THAT be a mistake?

IN ORDER TO DEFLECT from this;;

2) the humanitarian convoy - through a TERRORIST controlled area -- to allow passage TO the city of aleppo being gradually retaken by syria -- gets HIT --

THIS IS after russia /syria finally got the USA to agree to the ''safe road" to allow UN aid to pass -- HOWEVER this SAME passage

also REQUIRED in the ''secret meetings" between russia(in consultation with the legitimate government of syria) and USA -- that

the ''ceasefire" around the 'safe passage" - would include THIS:

THE SYRIAN ARMY would RETREAT 500 meters away from the passage. and SO WOULD THE AMERICAN SUPPORTED ''opposition" -- The syrian army respected the agreement immediately - every surveillance satellites and drones show it...

the AMERICAN protected ''opposition" NEVER DID - in fact -- they IMMEDIATELY started firing at syrian army positions across the road...to gain more control..

to protests of russia - the USA ''HEARD NOTHING".

that'/s ALREADY a violation...

RUSSIA suggested "let us publish officially TOGETHER as professionals all the agreement details so the public knows what is agreed on which is being violated or not" the USA INSISTED as part of the agreement it should be kept secret...(although the ''leaked" PART of it yesterday -- unofficially -- ANOTHER disrespectful act-- but russia STILL holds the power to publish the REST which WILL surely reveal the USA ALSO willing to betray ITS OWN TERRORISTS and guess where THAT goes)

3) USA immediatelymakes insinuations RUSSIA ''is responsible, assad is responsible" for the destruction and deaths in the ALEPPO humanitarian corridor ''Because reports said" that ''russian planes were in the sky" ..

4) RUSSIA denies it - and there are NO surveillance records anywhere -- not from satellites, not from global positioning, NOTHING the USA cna produce as ''evidence" to prove its accusations...
5) UN BAN KI MOON ''suggests" in his last speech as secretary general ''ALL sides must abide and the syrian authorities must agree to future political transition as to assa'ds fate" (the american position).

6) UN RETRACTS the insinuation after RUSSIA shows a trump card -- surveillance showing - the CONVOY clean before the attack - its own cameras hit at the moment of attack -- but catches AMERICAN ARMED DRONES flying right on top of the convoy...

THE SAME kind of america drones USED by other american supported ''oppositions" against syrian army forces...

the RUSSIANS -- for the FIRST time used a complex RUSSIAN

"word-phrase" that translates roughly :

"incapable of agreements" -- which is about the LOWEST assessment russians make about a person who has LOST ANY CREDIBILITY -- but is meant towards someone that is basically

LACKING IN THE MOST BASIC ABILITIES OR SKILLS TO DO SOMETHING REQUIRED..

like when someone is described as 'unable to walk" - ''unable to count" - unable to sing in tune...basically just LACK OF BASIC SKILLS at something..

adn inTHIS case -- ''THE ABILITY OR CAPACITY TO AGREE TO ANYTHING ONE HAS COMMITTED TO".

LIARS in other words. WHEN A russian says that after all the most desperate willingness to talk and talk and talk right to the last second to avoid even WORSE things -- hoping the other person FINALLY sees some sense...

that means -- there are no agreements or discussions left - ONLY now the phase of what LAVROV said at the UN:

"THE USA HAS TO PROVE"

it ''can do what it says as the strict agreements required to which it committed for months and months but kept changing -- that it CAN control the terrorists it supports and SEPARATE THEM from any moderates if they actually exist..so we can destroy the terrorists together.."

"or the only conclusion to be made is there are powers in the USA that do NOT want the resolution ...in order to justify their presence in s yria..whioch brings the question -- who is in charge there? the PENTAGON or the white house and state department? the CIA ?".

''we remind the world -- ANY FOREIGN ENTITIES without the permission of the SYRIAN GOVERNMENT -- on the ground or in the air - are in syria illegally".

===================================

RUSSIAN SHIP off the coast of syria fired TWO KALIBER Missiles

to a proven ''command center" of the ISIL terrorists --
and destroyed the command center near palmyra
it included at least 30 foreign ''advisers"
including americans, british, israelis, saudis, qataris and turks.

while john kerry -- insists - as pentagon insists

"ONLY AMERICAN and USA-LED COALITION PLANES SHOULD FLY OVER SYRIA".

oh -- really?

Major mistake by the US bombing the government troops just before the ceasefire was about to begin.

AS PRESIDENT BASHER ASSAD said -- in the few moments he says anything -- but always the PROPER AND CORRECT factual way --

"the americans pretend to fight the terrorists they themselves protect and enable...shooting for an hour at our soldiers? that's not a mistake...the russians telephoned their commander in iraq to warn that they were shooting at syrian army positions -- twice he was unable to speak to the commander who was unavailable...".

becauuussseee? of course he was busy DIRECTING the attack....based on DAYS OF SURVEILLANCE of the 'kinetic area"

which -- in reality -- NO MOVEMENT was happening at all..

teh syrian army simply held its position as USUAL -- the terrorists were as yet UNABLE TO make 'kinetic movement and advance"

UNTIL AFTER THE SYRIAN ARMY was destroyed by the american planes.........

WHO IS ''the greatest purveyor of violence in the world ? " as MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR, said decades ago ?

"MY OWN COUNTRY AND GOVERNMENT -- THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA".

Bombing Everything, Winning Nothing: What Can the US Military Even Do?
Fred Reed (The Unz Review) 8 hours ago | 1,337 37
What, precisely, is the US military for, and what, precisely, can it do? In practical terms, how powerful is it? On paper, it is formidable, huge, with carrier battle groups, advanced technology, remarkable submarines, satellites, and so on. What does this translate to?

Military power does not exist independently, but only in relation to specific circumstances. Comparing technical specifications of the T-14 to those of the M1A2, or Su-34 to F-15, or numbers of this to numbers of that, is an interesting intellectual exercise. It means little without reference to specific circumstances.

For example, America is vastly superior militarily to North Korea in every category of arms–but the North has nuclear bombs. It can’t deliver them to the US, but probably can to Seoul. Even without nuclear weapons, it has a large army and large numbers of artillery tubes within range of Seoul. It has an unpredictable government. As Gordon Liddy said, if your responses to provocation are wildly out of proportion to those provocations, and unpredictable, nobody will provoke you.

An American attack by air on the North, the only attack possible short of a preemptive nuclear strike, would offer a high probability of a peninsular war, devastation of Seoul, paralysis of an important trading partner–think Samsung–and an uncertain final outcome. The United States hasn’t the means of getting troops to Korea rapidly in any numbers, and the domestic political results of lots of GIs killed by a serious enemy would be politically grave. The probable cost far exceeds any possible benefit. In practical terms, Washington’s military superiority means nothing with regard to North Korea. Pyongyang knows it.

Or consider the Ukraine. On paper, US forces overall are superior to Russian. Locally, they are not. Russia borders on the Ukraine and could overrun it quickly. The US cannot rapidly bring force to bear except a degree of air power. Air power hasn’t worked against defenseless peasants in many countries. Russia is not a defenseless peasant. Europe, usually docile and obedient to America, is unlikely to engage in a shooting war with Moscow for the benefit of Washington. Europeans are aware that Russia borders on Eastern Europe, which borders on Western Europe. For Washington, fighting Russia in the Ukraine would require a huge effort with seaborne logistics and a national mobilization. Serious wars with nuclear powers do not represent the height of judgement.

Again, Washington’s military superiority means nothing.

Or consider Washington’s dispute with China in the Pacific. China cannot begin to match American naval power. It doesn’t have to. Beijing has focused on anti-ship missiles–read “carrier-killer”–such as the JD21 ballistic missile. How well it works I do not know, but the Chinese are not stupid. Is the risk of finding out worth it? Fast, stealthed, sea-skimming cruise missiles are very cheap compared to carriers, and America’s admirals know that lots of them arriving simultaneously would not have a happy ending.

Having a fleet disabled by China would be intolerable to Washington, but its possible responses would be unappealing. Would it start a conventional war with China with the ghastly global economic consequences? This would not generate allies. Cut China’s oil lanes to the Mid-East and push Beijing toward nuclear war? Destroy the Three Gorges Dam and drown god knows how many people? If China used the war as a pretext for annexing bordering counties? What would Russia do?

The consequences both probable and assured make the adventure unattractive, especially since likely pretexts for a war with China–a few rocks in the Pacific, for example–are too trivial to be worth the certain costs and uncertain outcome. Again, military superiority doesn’t mean much.

We live in a military world fundamentally different from that of the last century. All-out wars between major powers, which is to say nuclear powers, are unlikely since they would last about an hour after they became all-out, and everyone knows it. In WWII Germany could convince itself, reasonably and almost correctly, that Russia would fall in a summer, or the Japanese that a Depression-ridden, unarmed America might decide not to fight. Now, no. Threaten something that a nuclear power regards as vital and you risk frying. So nobody does.

At any rate, nobody has. Fools abound in DC and New York.

What then, in today’s world, is the point of huge conventional forces?

The American military is an upgraded World War II military, designed to fight other militarizes like itself in a world like that which existed during World War II. The Soviet Union was that kind of military. Today there are no such militaries for America to fight. We are not in the same world. Washington seems not to have noticed.

A World War II military is intended to destroy point targets of high value—aircraft, ships, factories, tanks—and to capture crucial territory, such as the enemy’s country. When you have destroyed the Wehrmacht’s heavy weaponry and occupied Germany, you have won. This is the sort of war that militaries have always relished, having much sound and fury and clear goals.

It doesn’t work that way today. Since Korea, half-organized peasant militias have baffled the Pentagon by not having targets of high value or crucial territory. In Afghanistan for example goatherds with rifles could simply disperse, providing no point targets at all, and certainly not of high value. No territory was crucial to them. If the US mounted a huge operation to take Province A, the resistance could just fade into the population or move to Province B. The US would always be victorious but never win anything. Sooner or later America would go away. The world understands this.

Further, the underlying nature of conflict has changed. For most of history until the Soviet Union evaporated, empires expanded by military conquest. In today’s world, countries have not lost their imperial ambitions, but the approach is no longer military. China seems intent on bringing Eurasia under its hegemony, and advances toward doing it, but its approach is economic, not martial. The Chinese are not warm and fuzzy. They are, however, smart. It is much cheaper and safer to expand commercially than militarily, and wiser to sidestep martial confrontation—in a word, to ignore America. More correctly it is sidestepping the Pentagon.

Military and diplomatic power spring from economic power, and China is proving successful economically. Using commercial clout, she is expanding her influence, but in ways not easily bombed. She is pushing the BRICS alliance, from which the US is excluded. She is enlarging the SCO, from which America is excluded. Perhaps most importantly, she has set up the AIIB, the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank, which does not include the US but includes Washington’s European allies. These organizations will probably trade mostly not in dollars, a serious threat to Washington’s economic hegemony.

What is the relevance of the Pentagon? How do you bomb a trade agreement?

China enjoys solvency, and hegemonizes enthusiastically with it. Thus in Pakistan it has built the Karakoram Highway from Xian Jiang to Karachi, which will increase trade between the two. It is putting in the two power reactors near Karachi. It is investing in Afghan resources, increasing trade with Iran. . When the US finally leaves, China, without firing a shot, will be predominant in the region.

What is the relevance of aircraft carriers?

Beijing is talking seriously about building more rail lines, including high-speed rail, from itself to Europe, accompanied by fiber-optic lines and so on. This is not just talk. China has the money and a very large network of high-speed rail domestically. (The US has not a single mile.) Google “China-Europe Rail lines.”

What is the Pentagon going to do? Bomb the tracks?

As trade and ease of travel from Berlin to Beijing increase, and as China prospers and wants more European goods, European businessmen will want to cuddle up to that fabulously large market—which will loosen Washington’s grip on the throat of Europe. Say it three times slowly: Eur-asia. Eur-asia. Eur-asia. I promise it is what the Chinese are saying.

What is the Pentagon’s trillion-dollar military going to bomb? Europe? Railways across Kazakhstan? BMW plants?

All of which is to say that while the US military looks formidable, it isn’t particularly useful, and aids China by bankrupting the US. Repeatedly it has demonstrated that it cannot defeat campesinos armed with those most formidable weapons, the AK, the RPG, and the IED. The US does not have the land forces to fight a major or semi-major enemy. It could bomb Iran, with unpredictable consequences, but couldn’t possibly conquer it.

The wars in the Mid-East illustrate the principle nicely. Iraq didn’t work. Libya didn’t work. Iran didn’t back down. ISIS and related curiosities? The Pentagon is again bombing an enemy that can’t fight back—its specialty—but that it seems unable defeat.

Wrong military, wrong enemy, wrong war, wrong world.

Deir ez-Zor Attack: Pentagon Could Have Something to Hide in Syria
Sputnik
It is unlikely that the US-led coalition's airstrikes in Syria's Deir ez-Zor region against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions took place due to a mere "accident," Salman Rafi Sheikh, a political analyst and expert on Pakistani foreign affairs believes.

"A look at the pattern of how the US-led coalition has been striking in the region would further reveal that the last strike, which killed more than 60 Syrian soldiers, was not simply a mistake," Sheikh writes in his article for New Eastern Outlook.

© AP Photo/ Alexander Kots

Sheikh pointed out that the SAA has been fighting against Daesh in the Deir ez-Zor region for a long time. However, the US-led coalition did not attack the terrorist group when it countered the SAA's attacks and seized Palmyra.

Surprisingly, the deadly strike has been conducted at a time when the SAA was gaining momentum on the ground.

"The fact remains that the strike has taken place at a time when the Syrian army was successfully pushing ISIS [Daesh] back and bringing more and more [of the] region under its control," Sheikh underscored.

It seems that the SAA's military success "was clearly running counter" to the US' objective to weaken the Syrian government forces and prevent them from re-establishing Assad's authority in the country's troubled regions.

As the situation unfolds, the US is pursuing two conflicting goals in Syria: first, they seek to oust Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, while on the other hand they want to defeat Daesh.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that the Pentagon, most notably Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter, is opposing the US-Russian ceasefire deal on Syria, the analyst noted.

"With many high-ranking US officials, including those from its Defense establishment, being skeptical about the deal and opposing it to keep Russia from buttressing Assad, could it not be that the strike, which certainly could not have taken place without the Pentagon's approval, was actually meant to derail the deal?" Sheikh asked.

© AFP 2016/ US NAVY / MC2 JACOB G. SISCO

To add to the embarrassment, it was Daesh who directly benefited from the US air strike against the SAA, the analyst remarked, calling attention to the fact that the terrorist group "launched an attack on the Syrian army immediately after the coalition jet had struck them."

First Deputy Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee in Russia's Federation Council Franz Klintsevich shares a similar stance, believing that the Deir ez-Zor attack was hardly an "accident."

"The US conducted airstrikes on government forces in Syria deliberately and thoughtfully," he suggested.

According to Klintsevich, Washington's major goal is "to depose President Bashar al-Assad, bring the opposition to power and maintain their economic interests."

Russian envoy to the UN Vitaly Churkin echoed Klintsevich, stressing that "some aspects of the situation suggest that it could well have been a provocation."

Commenting on the issue, Yevgeny Satanovsky, head of the Moscow-based Middle East Institute, told the Russian online newspaper Vzglyad that there is something fishy about the US-led coalition's "accidental" airstrike against the SAA. Either the Pentagon's intelligence is worth nothing, or the US Department of Defense interpreted the US-Russian agreement on Syria in a pretty warped way, the expert underscored.

© REUTERS/ U.S. Air Force/Senior Airman Matthew Bruch/Handout

At the same time, Russian journalist and political analyst Yevgeny Krutikov has repeatedly noted in his articles for Vzglyad that the SAA's achievements on the ground are causing irritation in the Pentagon.

To add more fuel to the fire, the SAA is about to defeat a very suspicious Islamist group — Jund al-Aqsa — known to have earlier been supported by the US. Despite the group being relatively small, it possesses modern weapons and even surveillance drones.

Jund al-Aqsa was designated as a terrorist entity by the US only four days ago. However, it has been spotted colluding with both the former al-Qaeda affiliated al-Nusra Front and the Free Syrian Army — the so-called "moderate opposition." Given this, it is really hard to separate the wheat from the chaff on the ground, Krutikov noted.

In any event, the possible defeat of Jund al-Aqsa will shed the light on a wide range of questions, especially about the groups drones and the identity of the leader of the group operating under the alias Abu Abdul Aziz al-Qatari, the political analyst stressed.

It seems, however, that some Washington officials would rather leave a vast array of inconvenient truths about the Syrian war swept under the rug.

oh -- it bears noting that the USA -- having played its game of ''advising and training" its proxy TERRORIST armies by many names as its foot soldiers against governments that aren't obedient to washington and wall street (which is ALL that IS america's ''defense'' ALWAYS has been - just ask GENERAL SMEDLEY BUTLER JR...but he's back in 1933) - Startingof course ALWAYS with smearing the targeted country -- be it USSR, russia today, russia before THAT, or tiny Yemen or Haiti - doesn't matter ...

if it's disobedient it's always ''the great threat to world peace"..

american SOLDIERS and SPECIAL OPS were supposed to EMBED with yet another of their 'trainees" ''fighting alongside turkish troops against TERRARISTS" (whichever ones are they...oh my...)...

almost got MASSACRED right on the spot by their 'trainees" had the turks not cooled things down and told the americans they better LEAVE in a jiffy to save their skins -- and ya ...

in those WHITE TOYOTAS -- that were SO typical of DAESH/ISIL ''moderate opposition" back months ago

openly riding on the highway from the OIL FIELDS of IRAQ and easter syria for their OIL SMUGGLING operation

before RUSSIA bombed them out of commission....

i guess when this is over -- more or less so china can start all that SILK ROAD rolling in -- and syria and russia and company asians can go back to the old business of - heck

buy and sell -- eating and having weddings...

russia might just have a bit more time to take care of that closer to home HEROIN AND OPIUM BUSINESS THE CIA has been ''cultivating" in good old afghanistant since the 1980's...........

sigh -- so much work to do for the natives of ASIA from the borders of belarus -- owing to all that Uncle Sam's little nest of splendid little wars............

but hey -- if they can avoid a NUKING -- it just might happen.......

and as PATRICK BUCHANAN properly said back in the 1990's. ...

"we didn't like it when the USSR was in our neighborhood in cuba...even if we started it by putting OUR nukes in turkey in russia's neighborhood...so what are we doing in Russia's backyard?

we should really get out of this EMPIRE BUSINESS OF OURS -- and leave those lands before they ALL kick us out of there anyway".

and THAT folks -- if you are to be BOTHERED at all -- is the REAL story behind all of this..it's just that -- THIS TIME -- RUSSIA - stone by stone -- is bringing the CASE OF AMERICAN IMPERIAL CRIMINALITY and hypocrisy of decades old

to the world where it BELONGS and TEAR that curtain of mendacity by the EMPIRE of ''democracy".

AND BOY -- is uncle sam getting REALLY sloppier by the day......

HILLARY CLINTON OR TRUMP for president? samantha powers the queen of humanitarian WAR FOR UN ambassador///?

gimme a break..

as the ancient greeks said -- it is REALLY true about the empire USA.

"whom the gods wish to destroy -- first they make mad".

The US is losing a grip on the Syrian situation.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-09-...izes-ground-in-major-aleppo-offensive/7874866

Major mistake by the US bombing the government troops just before the ceasefire was about to begin.

Apparently Department of Defence and CIA did not want any coordination with Russia in the Syrian ceasefire agreement. It is possible that there are elements who wanted to undermine the ceasefire agreement, or it is possible that the agreement is just a farce. And the situation is getting worse with all the bombing going on.

What irks me the most is all this talk about fighting terrorism and high morals, then they turn around and support them (started with Afghanistan in 1980s). That is what I don't like about politicians. They say one thing in public and mostly do completely opposite of that. If you oppose terrorists, then you oppose them EVERYWHERE, no picking and choosing.

Talking about US government supporting terrorists, Teddy, this is an old article but still valid written by a former Canadian ambassador to this area:

And the situation is getting worse with all the bombing going on.

NOTE THE PATTERN -- i have said forever...

USA loves to ''watch" everyone - right down to how they shit...just ask angela merkel..that IS after all the purpose of the NSA.
AS for the CIA (forget it's REALLY about ''intell" - its intel is for the purpose of FOMENTING instabilities and MURDER -- you don't call that a Classic, REAL ''spy" agency - it is WAR MAKING, MURDER agency which is nothing more than another name for every institution of the US -- IMPERIAL departments ..from congress , to supreme court making laws ''above the world", presidency, MEDIA, ''education "like you see being done to the ''minds and hearts" of 'youth around the world", NGO'S) ..

BUT pattern is:

USA makes 'deals and treaties' with ''TRANSPARENCY''.

then keeps them SECRET from the public -- and at will even AGAINST its own ''partners".

TPP, TIPP, CETA (using canada as its stooge and trojan horse in case TIPP isn't accepted by EU) - nafta, etc..goes into a ''ceasefire and solution' agreement" with russia on syria - and insists not to make public...why?

russia has NO problem with showing the world every detail..USA ''LEAKS" PART of it to forestall Russia's going ahead with publishing the WHOLE thing ''So everyone can see who is honoring agreements and who not" -- but also because it will REVEAL that the USA

also DOUBLE -BACK STABS its OWN terrorist groups when it is convenient or has been backed into a corner ...

but lest ANYONE thinks this is only because of the 'current situation" or this 'adminsitratin" or because there are ''quarrels among the CIA/STATE Department, pentagon, white house'congress" as to who really calls the shots --

GO BACK to the ''treaties" with NATIVE PEOPLES...

every single one of them FORCED upon the natives -- BROKEN as soon as the ink was dry..........

now -- what is the ONLY conclusion here?

THIS IS A SOCIETAL, CULTURAL CHARACTERISTIC OF AMERICANS.

liars and deceivers -- who ''insist on spirit and letter of the LAW" in making 'agreements' - but more important than even THAT

will not only NOT honor it - even as the others honor their obligations -- by handshake or in LETTER SIGNED -- but also will insist on EXIT CLAUSES for itself to exempt it from following anything it damn well pleases.

exhibit A?

NATO EXPANSION that swallowed eastern europe right up to the borders of Russia ...the REST everythiong around that habit is just making justifications --

such as -- terrorism threat - equals russian threat - equals chinese threat - equals ebola threat - equals threat, threat, threat...

but excuse me who IS THE THREAT? TO THE WORLD?

IT'S THE USA !! And what it CALLS threats are only convenient cover to the fact that to the USA

everything and everyone is a threat IF THEY DO NOT BOW TO AMERICAN DICTATES.

as the film maker OLIVER STONE PUTS IT:

"WE - americans love to say we are UNDER THREAT -- in fact

we ARE the threat|".

its impending collapse in MORE , even BIGGER DEBTS than 2008 - WHICH themselves were BIGGER than 1998 DOT.com fake stocks debt - whichwere themselves bigger than the ones before --

is again a threat to the global economy ...with NEW bubble debts yet to explode - student debt, car-loans debt, health care debt, etc. etc.

its WARS are its way to UNLOAD its MISERY to the rest of the world - while its corporations make a killing in profits ''building"
fancy super duper weapons and ships and machines that DON'T WORK to justify yet MORE spending for ''better " machines.

lol.

and as LAVROV said at the UN:

"it is high time the world realizes that a certain country and its allies stop MENTORING THE WORLD about how it should behave"...

and to top THAT off -- what does the oh so smart IRISH-AMERICAN SAMANTHA POWERS DO - as CHURKIN in another speech at the UN goes about the most important revelations of the SYRIA matter?

why -- she - in her HIDEOUS way -- completely ignoring even the most BASIC professional norms -- huffs and puffs and walks out of the big room -- to hold a press conference of HER own outside the doors blaming and lying about who else but Russia and syria

JUST AS HER AND HER GOVERNMENT'S own lying and murderous TERRORIST protection racket is being exposed just behind the door!!

even the NAZIS weren't THAT low! but then -- it IS a historical fact that the NAZIS were ADMIRERS OF the AMERICAN plantation and slave system..and avidly STUDIED the methods of ''racial purity" - including medical experiments by american DOCTORS ..THAT THE NAZIS perfected.

does it THEN surprise ANYONE that the country that BRAGS about ''human rights" and ''democracy" and 'justice" -- is revealing ITSELF as the world's GLOBAL FASCIST? all along?

lol.

BREAKING: ALL OUT FIGHT FOR ALEPPO BEGINS - SAA Major Offensive - complete report
September 24th - 2016 - Fort Russ News -
- by J. Flores with collated and original sources -

[Fort Russ News has confirmed the following from various trusted sources on the ground, monitoring the events closely. These were compared to a number of breaking stories coming from AMN, SANA, Fars, and the SAA's official social-networking. We have also provided background information covering the several days before, bringing readers up-to-date from the end of the US-Russia ceasefire through the ongoing maneuvers leading up to the major pre-dawn offensive that is still underway. We have pulled together about nine different pieces of reportage and present them in a comprehensive manner, in chronological order. We have also given some analysis.]

COMPLETE REPORT

September 24th - Aleppo, Syria - Pre-dawn around 4 am, the Syrian Arab Army and allied forces launched the largest phase of an all out offensive in Aleppo, which was declared on September 22nd. At the time of publication, this is an ongoing offensive in the form of a three pronged attack. The map below shows us the starting points of the three pronged attack - in boxes.

Figure 1

Today's major attack began from three directions indicated above. It is the culmination of the last 48 hours of fighting in the aftermath of the failed ceasefire. It is reported that the Syrian Arab Army had observed the movement of jihadist reserves in the encirclement, and these positions were the result of tactical victories in the last two days. We will give some background in the following section on how the pieces came to be positioned in this way.
This phase of the offensive was delayed by up to 20 hours for reasons explained in the below section of this report 'The Last 48 Hours'.
This is the best advantage for the SAA to have for a battle of this type, for they can attack from many direction and the enemy is handicapped in this regard.
Between 45k to 70k Syrian soldiers and their allies are reportedly involved around Aleppo and 20k to 25k terrorists are inside the city. We are unable at this time to narrow the numbers down more precisely.
These moves are all just the beginning of a series of coordinated attacks which, we are cautious to say, may determine the outcome of this conflict. Significant is that Lavrov has taken the future possibility of unilateral ceasefires off the table. These were unilateral as it was revealed in public statements and some leaked elements of the ceasefire agreement, because Al-Nusra, not a party to the ceasefire, was included in the areas under protection of the ceasefire based on the US's claim that they were trying to 'separate' the moderates from Al-Nusra. Lay critics and citizen-activists not familiar with what was important for Russia and Syria for the ceasefires, had pointed at that the cessation of hostilities came at the same time in reports published, including our own, that victory was in sight.
It is clear now that the Russians used the ceasefire talks and the documents produced as a result, to prove to the international community, and for posterity, that the US could not distinguish between, or separate out, 'moderate rebels' from the Al-Nusra terrorist group.
At the present time there seems to be little horizontal movement on the diplomatic front for the US, which leads us to say with some degree of certitude that another diplomatic maneuver is not going to stop this all out fight.
What we may find is the US directly assisting the terrorist units, which it admits are inseparable or indistinguishable from the apparently fictional 'moderate rebels', dropping supplies by air, which will raise the question of the extent to which Syria and Russia will respond.
*
Focusing now back on the logistics of this offensive, we will first examine the southern offensive.
At about 8am this morning, the pre-dawn attack resulted in some notable gains. The SAA and allied forces launched an assault in strategically important sectors in southern Aleppo. This was confirmed by the following announcement from AMN
"The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), backed by Hezbollah and Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary), launched a new assault at the 1070 Al-Hamdaniyah Housing Project in southern Aleppo on Saturday, striking the southern sector of this district that is controlled by Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest).
Led by the Republican Guard and 4th Mechanized Division, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies stormed the southern sector of the 1070 Housing Project and the nearby Hikmah Hill, resulting in a fierce battle that is still ongoing.
According to a military source in Aleppo city, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies are attempting to break-through Jaysh Al-Fateh's final line of defense at the 1070 Housing Project, while a large Hezbollah unit attacks the Qarassi axis."
With this had, in the coming days a spearhead attack will make use of a vanguard pushing from a southerly direction. See this map below:

Figure 2 - proposed maneuver for 9-26

This map above, Figure 2, corresponds to the lower-most box on the south of the map in Figure 1, at the top
These moves will be possible based upon positions already held and reinforced from around September 10th or 11th, and this mornings gains. Two groups, one to the south-east and the other to the south-west of the Sheikh Saeed district, will push towards the center, joining in that district, routing terrorist groups before they can manage to reform their line in the aftermath of the aerial bombardment previously. This will likely be a combined assault by the SAA, Liwaa Al-Quds, with Hezbollah, and will involve the celebrated Tiger Forces.

*
Now let us turn to the eastern offensive. We know that the 106th Brigade of the Republican Guard, part of an elite mechanized division making up 25,000 fighting men, is on the eastern part waiting to storm, and it is possible the forward movement of their offensive has already begun at the time of publication.
The SAA began today's eastern-most activity by stretching the reserves of jihadist in the circle very thin with artillery barrages, using the tactic of attrition before the vanguard storm. Again, we are expecting this attack of the Syrian Arab Army from eastern direction, or, this has already begun.
The 102nd and 106th Brigade of Republican Guard are confirmed as involved in the attack which may, at the time of publishing be underway.
*
Now looking at the northern offensive, we refer to the uppermost box at the north of the map, where that group launched their assault in the area shown in Figure 1. In this northern-most prong, the Handarat refugee camp was liberated by SAA forces backed by the Palestinian brigade, Liwaa Al-Quds. The entrance was liberated sometime afternoon, with conflicting reports. But after 4:00 pm today, total control was finally confirmed by spokesmen from Liwaa Al-Quds. This was reported by SANA and AMN. This includes strategically important hilltops, necessary for the assault to progress in a southerly direction.
Video: Liberation of Handarat -

This area northernmost in Figure 1, above, is shown at the top in the following, Figure 3.

Figure 3

Figure 3, however, represents the latter development of the northern offensive. In this, the group that took the Hamdarat refugee camp, they then shifted their attention to the "Shuqeif Industrial Area that is located right next to the Bureijj Quarries of northern Aleppo", according to AMN.

The Syrian Armed Forces and their allies were able to assert fire control over the Shuqeif Industrial Area after seizing the hilltops overlooking this part of northern Aleppo.

The last 48 hours leading up to today's phase of the Aleppo offensive:
Following the end of the ceasefire, Russian and Syrian air forces began to strike terrorist held areas. Kerry protested this in a public media spectacle, manipulating the public misconception that there was still a ceasefire in effect. The SAA unilaterally ended the ceasefire about half a day after its positions were intentionally hit by US forces acting in conjunction with ISIS. Kerry's protests came the following day.
These air strikes were very effective, and created the possibility for the following tactical victories.
From the Syrian Arab Army's facebook, on the morning of September 22nd, a telling message was given:
"The regional military command in Aleppo announced the beginning of military operations in the Eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo.
The regional military operations' command call on the fellow civilian citizens to keep away from the known buildings in which the terrorists use as hideouts and command centers.
The regional military command in Aleppo: There will be no legal liability, arresting or detention to any citizen who make it to an of the Syrian Arab Army' checkpoints around the Eastern Neighborhood. We took all measures to welcome the civilians out of the Eastern Neighborhood, provide temporary residence and provide life aid for a dignified living.
The offer also include all gunmen who were deceived into holding arms against their Armed Forces, and want to surrender their arms to get back to their civil life.
Translated from the website of the Ministry of Defense of the Syrian Arab Republic وزارة الدفاع في الجمهورية العربية السورية website."
Yesterday, September 23rd, as Al Masdar reported, "less than 24 hours after the announcement of the Aleppo offensive aimed at capturing the rebel-held districts of east Aleppo, government forces were able to secure the Ramousah-'Amiriyah highway and its intersection following consistent advances around Al-Badawi mosque in 'Amiriyah.
Preceding this advance were 8 intense hours of violent clashes on the Ramousah Bakery axis. This sensitive advance places the Syrian Army forces on the outskirts of Sukkari district, the militants' administrative hub in the embattled city.
Moreover, government troops now have fire control over the jihadist forces in the aforementioned areas.
Notably, opposition forces suggested that Jabhat Fath Al-Sham (formerly Jabhat Al-Nusra) is relocating many of its fighters from all jihadist-held Aleppo and massing them at Sukkari where they have imposed a curfew.
Meanwhile, Syrian helicopters dropped thousands of leaflets atop east Aleppo neighborhoods calling on militants to turn themselves in before it becomes too late.
The Syrian Army and its allies are expected to capture and fortify Sadkop at any time. Securing this region will enable its use as a launchpad for operations on Sukkari and Sheikh Sa'eed.
Whatever the future holds for east Aleppo, it incontestably doesn't bode well for the jihadist forces- especially following the harrowing defeat at the artillery base."
Then on September 23rd, right after noon the Syrian Arab Army facebook reported:
"SyAAF and RuAF are conducting airstrikes against enemy targets in the Eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo. All the data about the targets were collected by Syrian Military Intelligence operatives inside enemy controlled territories and only high precision munition are being used to avoid/minimize unneeded damage.
These airstrikes come hours after the regional military command in Aleppo announced the beginning of a military operation in the Eastern Neighborhoods.
We told you constantly on this page that the terrorists who took the people of the Eastern neighborhoods as human shields and kept them hostages while shelled the Western neighborhoods terrorizing and killing civilians will be made an example of. The land operation haven't started yet but its imminent; and their Sultan nor their masters will be able to save them then."
Later the same day, they translated a very interesting quote directly from Bashar al-Assad:
"Commander in Chief president Bashar al-Assad answering a question of when Syria will be pacified to some degree that the Syrians who fled the war can return:

<< If we look at it according to the internal Syrian factors, I would say it’s very soon, a few months, and I’m sure about that, I’m not exaggerating, but when you talk about it as part of a global conflict and a regional conflict, when you have many external factors that you don’t control, it’s going to drag on and no-one in this world can tell you when but the countries, the governments, the officials who support directly the terrorists. Only they know, because they know when they’re going to stop supporting those terrorists, and this is where the situation in Syria is going to be solved without any real obstacles. >>"
This is a very big message directly from Assad, and lines up with most objective assessments of the present state of the failing US backed effort in Syria.
Towards the end of the day on the 23rd, the SAA facebook gave an explanation as to why this phase of the offensive was delayed, citing humanitarian concerns:
"A little inside info from Eastern Aleppo. What happened last night was great at all military levels; the armed forces did not launched a full scale operation yet despite that it was announced and here is the reason:
On Wednesday there was a meeting inside the Syrian regional command HQ in Aleppo and Major General Zaid al-Saleh the regional commander in Aleppo announced that the armed groups in the Eastern Neighborhoods will have until the end of September to drop their weapons and the Syrian nationals among them will have full amnesty.
Last night the Syrian regional command officially announced the beginning of its operation in Eastern Aleppo but also announced that all citizens who make it to an Syrian military checkpoint will not be legally liable, will not be detained and will not be arrested; they will be transported safely to a temporary housing where they will be provided medical care, and aid for a dignified living until their neighborhood is liberated and they can go back. That offer was extended to all Syrian nationals who were deceived into holding arms against their armed forces.
But that does not mean there will not be a military operation or military operations are ceased, we will keep the battle and tactical details undisclosed for the time being but we simply, and with all information that we can share, are explaining the situation in Aleppo and why things are going the way they are.
For those who read between the lines this post is perhaps enough, and for those who need more direct statements, you will get it when the battlefield talk."
*
In other parts of Syria, presently the 104th Brigade is in Deir Zor, and the 103rd is in north Latakia, with the 105th in East Ghouta.
In Aleppo, we expect an attack from the east and are waiting.
Practically, the main part of this conflict, barring increased foreign interference, is at an end because about 25% of the best trained terrorist forces in Syria are in the Aleppo encirclement, and this is one of the last good combat zones for difficult-to-take urban areas in their fight.

Washington's Stance on Syria Deal: If Something Goes Wrong, Blame Russia
Sputnik
Politics

The media outlet added that the Deir ez-Zor attack "opened a new chapter in the Syrian war," prompting many to question "why the United States signed agreements with Russia on joint activities in Syria in the first place."

The deal unveiled on September 9 paved the way for a ceasefire that the Syrian Arab Army declared over on September 19 due to more than 300 violations by US-backed rebel groups. The Deir ez-Zor attack that took place on September 17 did nothing to salvage the deal.

The US Central Command said that the airstrike was a mistake. If true, "the US essentially admitted that Russia was correct in saying that it is hard to carry out a military campaign in such a complex environment and that jihadists should be divided into those who should not be targeted and those who must be eliminated," the magazine noted.

This issue has been a major stumbling block for Russia and the US as both countries have tried to find a way to defeat terrorist groups and launch the peace process in the war-torn country. Moscow has repeatedly asked Washington to provide a list of so-called moderate groups and persuade them to distance themselves from radicals, but the US has been reluctant to deliver.

"Following a weeklong ceasefire one could confidently say that not many 'moderate' jihadists have remained in Syria," Literární novin observed. "Perhaps, those are the rebels fighting along the Turkish military in northern Syria. But they are definitely not those groups that the West has supported so far. Distinguishing between al-Qaeda and 'our guys' has become increasingly hard and even the West has acknowledged that."

Poll
Do you believe that the US-led coalition's airstrike on the Syrian army was an accident, as US Central Command claims?

In other words, the United States has failed to fulfil its part of the Lavrov-Kerry deal since moderate and radical groups seem to be actively involved in fighting. This is why US officials blamed Russia and Syria for an attack on a UN humanitarian convoy in Aleppo.

The Russian Defense Ministry denied these allegations, saying that neither Russian, nor Syria aircraft carried out strikes. The Ministry later released a video showing a rebel truck carrying a large-caliber mortar that was part of the convoy. The militants, Russian defense officials said, were using the convoy as a cover.

"The United States does not seem to be as powerful in Syria to 'lay down the rules of the game,' but Washington has enough capabilities to ruin the game for the others," the media outlet noted. "However, it remains uncertain for how long they will manage to do that."

As a result, "the Lavrov-Kerry agreements, due to an extent to the recent blame game, are turning into a mere piece of paper that several days after signing more resemble the Minsk 2 deal," Literární novin concluded.

=====================

heck USA MSM AND PUNDITRY even blame russia for HILLARY'S collapsing campaign...
they'd blame russia for Bill Clinton's Mistress coming to Monday Debate.......on TRumps' corner.......

it's also russia's fault that Russia ''kees expanding to our nato bases , er...around russia".

lol.

Well, one thing is for sure... the world always needs a counterbalance, whether that be Russia, China or whoever...

Theatre Syria... I'm still non-plussed about the "regime change" ideal of the west.

Replace with what?? The "Free Syrian Army" is a figment of western imagination and has no mandate with the Syrians.

I'm still trying to figure out the intended end game for the west... it has to be more than destablising the government and installing a puppet, surely?

.

DId you catch those 2 separate incidents in news?
one was just over a week ago -- the other just yesterday..in separate areas ...

in the first this platoon of US soldiers come in their jeeps and vans (curiously the SAME whitish type of toyotas that were videoed and exposed by russia months ago used in their HUNDREDS by the terrorist oil smugglers before russia bombed their dozens fo miles long ''caravans of stolen oil from iraq and eastern syria - right there openly going on the highways to turkey WITH american helis flying right behidn them -- without shooting, as if like a protection unit, amazing)

and these new platoon was supposed to embed with their ''moderate rebels" ..
let's forget which name it is now as the;'ve changed names so much and move back and forth between groups it's pointless to follow --

as soon as they arrived and disembarked to join their 'allies' turkish troops and these''moderate rebels" - to supposedly fight ''kurdish" (which is turkey's interest but also to carve out ITS territory inside syria along with USA) .

these 'moderate reb els" started to confront the americans -- screaming at them to get out -- it took the turks to keep them from being massacred right there...because that WAS the intent of the ''moderates' they were supposed to give ''training and support to" ...

and got out lucky to have their skin on them -- being screamed at and called in arabic the lowest kind of insults:

"DOG, TAKFIRI ,,worthless pieces ...you are here to take syrian land...we know what you want..get out dogs!!".

ewe...

the SAME thing happened yesterday in norhtern aleppo -when a group of sepcial ops were supposed to also embed with a different group -- and had american flags burned in front of them -- being told "we don't want you here..get out!!".

mind you -- THESE are the very same ''moderate rebels" tha tkerry and company keep insisting russia 'SHOULD NOT BOMB"...

NOW just yesterday too -- american war planes incursed into syrian space -- AGAIN -- that they are not supposed to do (were they EVER in libya or iraq or anywhere for that matter? that's the whole big issue for many decades, isn't it really? it;s just this TIME RUSSIA not just called them out on it -- but IS in the area to SHOW it to the world...ther'es a difference when you DO follow international laws by permission of a SOVEREIGN state)

they bombed and destroyed two important syrian bridges in the east..over the euphrates river - which will make it very difficult for syrian army to RETAKE the area BEYOND the euphrates but which STILL belongs to syria - but curiously rich in -- you guessed it, OIL...

Damascus Public: 'Allah Take Care of Russia and Give It Eternal Strength!'
Sputnik
Paying a visit to the Syrian capital, RIA Novosti correspondent Rafael Daminov noted

1044737991.jpg

in his report
that in Damascus, "one might forget that this is a frontline city. Cozy restaurants are beautifully illuminated, people are shopping, traffic controllers strictly enforce traffic rules, and a fragrant aroma floats through the city, strongly reminding us that in the Arab world, Damascus is called the 'City of Jasmine'."

"You ask me about the attitude in Damascus toward the support provided by the Russian military to our army," a 40-year-old Syrian man named Hadi, the owner of a famous local café, told Daminov.

"Well picture this; a year ago, after it was announced that your country would be supporting the Syrian army, I saw the following scene: a street trader walking down the street with his cart of drinks, and out of the blue loudly crying: 'Allah, take care of Russia and give it eternal strength!' That is how people here reacted to Russia's support in the fight against terrorism!" the café owner exclaimed.

Invited into Hadi's café, Daminov instantly noticed a series of burnt wax candles. "Preempting my question, the owner gave me a candle and asked me to light it."

© Sputnik/ Michael Alaeddin

"These candles are in memory of the visitors to this café," Hadi noted. "In six years of war, over a thousand of them have been killed. I knew them personally. One was a soldier, killed in battle; another was killed by the explosion of a shell, which not so long ago were falling like a dense cloud on Damascus."

Hadi's café is located in Bab Touma, the old quarter of the Syrian capital. "In its narrow streets, the ancient churches and mosques coexist," Daminov noted. "It features numerous craft shops, and in the evening boisterous young people enjoy taking a stroll here. It's hard to believe that just two kilometers away is a completely different life. The neighborhood of Jobar is the last of the capital's neighborhoods still under the control of the extremists."

Bab Touma gate in Old Damascus

Speaking to the correspondent, Marina, the young manager of a fashionable local restaurant, recalled that "a year ago, there were shells and mines falling here; people were afraid that the rebels would break through the defenses and storm our neighborhood."

"If not for Russia, we would have already been wrapped up in a veil; a completely different order would reign here," the young woman sarcastically added.

Dana (R), a bartender at Red Bar, pours drinks for customers in Damascus, Syria.

A third year student in the faculty of tourism at Damascus University, Marina entered university when Syria had already entered a state of full-scale war. Many of the country's historical sites, once fondly visited by foreign tourists, were now home to terrorists. Asked why she chose tourism, at a time when many Syrians themselves have fled the country, Marina answered without hesitation:

"The war cannot last forever. I believe that it will soon end, and we will live as before, and tourists will definitely return to us."

Daminov noted that today, the only visible reminders that Damascus is the center of a brutal military conflict are "checkpoints throughout the city, periodic power outages and portraits pasted everywhere of President Bashar al-Assad in military uniform with the inscription 'We need only you.'" Only once were Daminov and his colleagues reminded that a war is going on here, when a Syrian Air Force plane struck a militant stronghold in Jobar. The strike saw a loud blast accompanied by a plume of smoke.

Jobar, a district of Damascus controlled by Jabhat al-Nusra militants

Visiting al-Hamidiyah Souq, one of the largest markets in the Middle East prior to the war, the RIA Novosti correspondent noted that souvenirs, including pearlescent jewelry boxes featuring the engraved phrase 'Thank You Russia', written in Russian and Arabic, have become very popular.

"'Hello, How are you? Are you from Russia?' a young man in military uniform looking over one of these little boxes asked me. Starting a conversation, one realizes that these phrases were almost all my interlocutor knew in Russian. Not waiting to hear my reply, the man broke into a smile, stretched out his hand, and said 'My name is Haitham."

Haitham, it turns out, had recently received a furlough from his army unit, stationed outside Latakia, and has already managed to become acquainted with the Russian military units station there, even learning a few words in Russian.

"The man told me that he 'desperately did not want to go to war, because he was afraid of the insurgents,'" Daminov explained. Eventually caught by his local draft officer, Haitham said that his fear soon "vanished at the sight of Russian aircraft, flying one after another over [his] military unit."

"When a great power like Russia is at your side, you no longer feel fear before the terrorists," Haitham exclaimed. "I want to tell you that the morale of the entire Syrian army, and of our people as well, has greatly increased with the appearance of your military in Syria," the soldier added.

Before parting, Haitham asked Daminov to include in his report that "Syrians do not want the Russian military to ever leave Syria."

THERE was a french poet - forgot his name -- tht once said ..because of the ancientry of syria - and as the TRUE meeting of east and west (roman empire , greeks, chinese , africa...yes AND of course its historic mixes of the great monotheistic faiths all coexisting peacefully -- ALL left imprints there long ago) ...

"EVERY man has two countries: his own country and syria".

and -- the russians -- in the far, far north of ST PETERSBURG -- actually call THEIR st petersburg "the palmyra of the north" -- in honor of the ancient ruins of Palmyra that was destroyed by the american sponsored terrorists until months ago ...

was retaken at great cost to russia and syria -- now being re-built stone by stone - had its original curator tortured and beheaded in public that the terrorists broadcast with pride because he would not reveal where the remaining artifacts were hidden...

and dramatically too - a russian reconnaissance on the ground to give orders to jets and helicopters

was discovered meters away by the terrorists, surrounded and gave up his lfe by ordering the jets to bomb HIS location

"they are coming, i can not be saved -- but take them down , take as many of these bastards as possible -- as they close in on me -- DO IT! do not let them dishonor my body...

tell my wife (he just got married and had a baby on the way) - and my family i love them very much, tell my country i was brave ...tell them i am dying so others may live..goodbye ..do it now".

teh hillary fan groupies -- are you READING any of these? THIS is what YOUR EMPIRE DOES...

"It only demonstrated that the whole negotiation process, which lasted for one year, has been ruined due to the Americans' fault," Morozov, member of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the Council of the Federation, the Upper Chamber of the Russian parliament told Sputnik.

The politician stated that the US attack on the positions of the Syrian army in Deir ez-Zor drew a line under what Sergei Lavrov and John Kerry have been doing throughout the year.

The five agreements which were agreed and signed between the two diplomats paved the way to the initial stage of the peace talks between all the parties to the Syrian conflict which want to stop the war.

Morozov also noted that there was also an ongoing process of signing the agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Russia's Center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria in Hmeymim.

All the heads of the Syrian settlements where jihadist groups were deployed came to sign this agreement underwritten by Russia. There were already over 700 signatories, he said.

Then Lavrov and Kerry agreed upon the cessation of hostilities, first for 48 hours, then up to seven days and then not limited in time. Under this agreement, both the US and Russia were supposed to control the implementation of the agreement on the territories under their control. Then, just a few days later came the American attack on Deir ez-Zor.

"It was this strike that enabled al-Nusra Front to capture a strategic area near Deir ez-Zor and get control over the situation in the area which the Syrian forces had been containing for two years," the politician said.

"The Americans are not searching for a pretext. They provoke such special situations through their agents in the jihadist groups. We understand that whoever attacked the humanitarian convoy, either the US unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or its special agents within al-Nusra Front, it was done by the US," the politician said.

In this way, they inflamed the conflict by imposing so-called responsive measures, which have become a stumbling block for further negotiations on the Syrian crisis.

It is therefore the Americans who destroyed the trust between the Syrians who longed for peace, and there were many of them, between Bashar Assad and his government, between Russia and the US, he explained.

The politician further suggested that there is another reason behind the attack on Deir ez-Zor.

"We can suggest that there is no unity within the Obama administration and within the US Democratic party on how to strengthen the positions of its presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in her presidential race against Donald Trump," he told Sputnik.

"Thus they need to do something unconventional. What happened in Deir ez-Zor and Aleppo are examples of such unconventional moves which the Americans have made intentionally in support of Clinton's campaign," he said.

The politician further suggested that Obama has lost the control over the situation in the country, which was taken by the "party of war" in the US, which embraces a considerable part of the Democratic party and the country's military and industrial complex which, in turn, supports the Republicans.

Hence there is a conflict between the US State Department and the Pentagon, which can't agree on the Syrian issue. The reason why the two institutions fail to agree, the politician said, is down to the unorthodox actions taken to bolster Clinton's position in the presidential race.

The same reasoning, he said, now defines US foreign policy. For the sake of strengthening Clinton's position, Washington is sacrificing all the agreements between the US and Russia and undermining the peace process in such a complicated geopolitical conflict, he finally said.
