His ego and endorsements won't allow that! He'll play thru the end; probably going down in the RR if there's any justice to the season! He's getting into the YEC literally for winning the AO; the rest of his year's been very mediocre! :lol3: :nono:  :banghead: :cuckoo:  :ptennis:

Come on, he is getting into YEC, by being in top 7. In case, you forgot there is a provision for a GS winner to enter YEC at the expense of the guy ranked 8th, if the GS winner remains in top 20 or so. Fed is not invoking that rule to enter YEC. Fed is entering YEC with a legitimate entry.

I was just being a TROLL! I'm just over coddling Fedal! It's been going on for years & I'm just sick of it! Everyone else isn't as blessed!

Fed should've called it a season after Wimbledon. Now he's just piling on which will worsen the injury. Maybe he wants to keep playing because he feels he doesn't have a lot of time which is kindof true, he's 37 afterall.

Agreed except I'd say he should've called it a year after the USO. Mid-September - November would've been plenty of rest and then spend December training for 2019. I think that'd have been the ideal prep. What's happening now is everything he should be trying to avoid, long matches and all-around ugly play which can only hurt his confidence.

I see he had a long match today, but Krajinovic was a tough first opponent. I think Mrzz. is a fan.

Good one DF--although I've heard that the ham sandwich specifics may prove to be a bit of lore :)

It's a way better demise than just dying in her sleep due to being a fatty :D

Correct. She died of heart failure. This is what Darth is worried about. Not the choking, but the lack of motivation. He thinks Roger's heart might no longer be in it. :D

Wow, you never pull a punch. All those rockers in that era died from the effects of drugs, and you call her a "fatty." She did not die from being fat. Jim Morrison was really fat when he died, and he didn't OD, either. Heart failure. Live fast, die young.

But back to Fed: Did you watch the match, or are you just postulating on how he did? If you watched, how did he look?

I didn't see it but he served 47%, was broken 3 times in a row to lose the 2nd and faced 14 BP's in all. I'm glad I missed it, I think I'd rather see Mama Cass stripping than suffering through that match

It's on now just in time to see him up 2 breaks in the 3rd and serving for it, but knowing he drops one of the breaks! Sad! Some GOAT!

OK, but scores don't tell the whole story. As I said, I don't think he had the easiest opponent.

Or you could be realistic about it for once. He's 37, played like shit for much of the match, serving 37% in set 2 I believe and 47% overall with 6 double faults and 14 break points not converted and yet he still won. Not many guys win with those stats but Roger can.

Didn't see the match... but 37%... was it really that bad?

Unfortunately yup. 47% for the whole match as 1st serves in. Didn't see it either but seems he may be more injured than he's letting on. 6 double faults too. Who knows though. He said he was serving badly in the corners so hopefully just a blip and not an injury. Here are the stats.

I feel like his serve has been bad a lot this year. Definitely something for Roger to figure out this offseason as that is the last thing that should be affected by age.

Yeah, he's been dropping serve out of nowhere even when up 40-0 or 40-15 to complete nobodies. Struff has a good serve and is one of the best S&V guys left on tour and to be honest I dont think Roger will win his next match. If Struff plays well and Roger wins I'll be quite surprised at this stage.

I am guessing he is not comfortable with the rest of his game so maybe redlining the serve a bit?
I watched a bit of the match and was totally confused. There were definitely moments of the TMF but also a lot of suck as well. That ratio better change in favor of TMF otherwise literally anyone can take him out .
