poor Stan, he's really unlucky
Hip and knee surgery is a serious issue for any athlete. Look also Tsonga how long is taking to recovery and I don't think he will do much better.

At this point I'd almost think Medvedev is the favorite. He's playing really well.

Federer has some problem and I don't understand what. His serve was atrocious today. 3 DF in the first set. 37% FS. I think it might be an injury.

He's a damn fool, more for the fact he's playing as opposed to how he's playing (which is awful).

2 hours and 10 minutes, a few more like this at Basel and YEC and the tiny offseason won't be nearly enough...

I don't think so. I think 1 of 2 things. It could be injury or it could be motivation. According to Abraham Maslow & his theory of motivation human's have a set of needs that need to be met & these motivate them. From what I've seen of Maslow's hierarchy of human needs all Roger's needs are met which are food, shelter, clothing on the bottom rung of his hierarchical pyramid, safety & security on the next rung up, love & belonging on the 3rd, esteem on the 4th & self-actualisation as he became the best he could be so he may feel demotivated because of this. I know that it's just a theory but I agree with Maslow to a certain extent but in certain cases it's not right because some people go from the 2nd step to the last step to try to get people to love them & give themselves a greater level of self-esteem. Now, Maslow's hierarchy of human needs works the opposite way to other hierarchical diagrams as it goes from the bottom up where most hierarchical diagrams like the 1 that explains how power circulates according to Weberian theory which states that power circulates by authority in a hierarchical fashion from the top down as opposed to Foucault's theory that people govern themselves by knowing what's expected of them & doing their best to do what's right. Something like that anyway. (I'd say that power circulates in both ways put together)

Fed should've called it a season after Wimbledon. Now he's just piling on which will worsen the injury. Maybe he wants to keep playing because he feels he doesn't have a lot of time which is kindof true, he's 37 afterall.

Agreed. I think he should wrap it up for the year after this.

His ego and endorsements won't allow that! He'll play thru the end; probably going down in the RR if there's any justice to the season! He's getting into the YEC literally for winning the AO; the rest of his year's been very mediocre! :lol3: :nono:  :banghead: :cuckoo:  :ptennis:
