Short memory? I was live at RG in 2012 when Rafa won over Novak in the final in Heavy Wet conditions.
Damn it. I knew there is something wrong with my prediction, haha.
Everybody relax. No matter where or when or against whom, bull will win without losing a set for sure. Maybe also without losing a game.

If we can read something into China's numbers, then in two months it could be past peak in central Europe. Also (and I have no time to detail it here), but for family interests I am studying the correlation with temperature and it seems to be quite strong (and, yes, I know, there are a lot of other factors playing at the same time). So I really think situation will get better with warmer temperatures (over there in the north, here in the south I am trying to convince family members to spend the incoming winter in the northern part of Brazil).

Disclaimer: Even if my conclusions are rational and I come from an academic background, I:

1) Don't have access to reliable and up-to-date data;
2) Don't have the time and the resources to stress test my conclusions;
3) Don't have training in medical sciences and/or biology .

All that is to stress that whatever I write, is a personal GUESS.

China's numbers are clearly fake. A total joke. The way they make things appear it's as if only Hubei and Wuhan ever got the virus in China. What the actual fuck is that when the whole country has a population of 1.4 billion?! The CCP are lying through their teeth. Italy will pass their numbers soon which makes a mockery of the numbers claimed by the CCP and WHO. My guess is China are crippled with the virus right now and have given up on the reporting of figures and lazily throwing in 20 new cases or a mere 5 deaths per day which frankly no one should believe.

Hold your horses,I would not go that far lol!
For sure, but as to your question of earlier, re: Rafa defending USO and then short turnaround to RG, I think the best positioned to with very little clay prep is Rafa. He's won MC 10 times, and it's his first clay tourney of the year. That, and the most experience winning RG, too. Also, Paris weather is lovely that time of year. Someone made the point about shorter days, though. I looked it up. About 5 fewer hours of daylight that time of year than late May. This could cause trouble for the tournament, if they haven't added lights with the renovation.

I totally agree that China has zero shame to lie about anything, however I don't think they are stupid enough to commit to a story they cannot sustain. So while I believe their numbers are made up, I doubt that they are orders of magnitude wrong. I also doubt that they would publish numbers that would alter the shape of their curve -- again, not because of decency, but just because this would not hold up for much long.

Anyway, South Korea also appears to have moved past the peak -- and they are way more reliable than China.

Just read confirmation from FFT President Bernard Guidicelli " will not see matches on Chartrier,Lenglen,Court Simmone-Mathieu or Court 4 stopped due to darkness in 2020.Those 4 main courts have lighting.Though there will be no evening sessions until the following year,when all courts will be equipped with lighting".

Excellent! So they might just get that tournament played.

Laver Cup statement on schedule,

The tennis world learned today the French Tennis Federation intends to schedule Roland Garos from Sept 20-Oct 4.
This announcement came as a surprise to us and our partners-Tennis Australia,the USTA and the ATP.It raises many questions and we are accessing the situation.At this time,we want our fans,sponsors,broadcasters,staff,volunteers,players and the great city of Boston to know we intend to hold Laver Cup 2020 as currently scheduled.

I have to say that I find this puny. It looks like some tournaments are going to squabble publicly over who gets slots. I'm sorry, though. If the Laver Cup believes it deserves some pride of place over RG, then I don't know what. Let them hold it. They might have 3rd tier players, for both World and Europe, but it doesn't mean it wouldn't be fun and entertaining. Good opportunity for the lesser-lights.

Yes Sir and Ma'am, China is lying...just look at the demographic statics,, E.g.

Daily reported cases.

China 81,000 + cases only +13 new cases
South Korea 8,000 +cases +171 new cases
USA 6000 + cases + 147 new cases

This is so foolish of China IMO

Haha China has no shame to lie?? Does this mean That other countries do not try to filter what comes to light??
There is no difference between Xi or Donald or Recep or Benjamin or all the other motherfuckers.

Yes, ultimately you are right. However, the "system" makes a difference, in some countries is harder to conceal the facts. I agree that the intention is there for all, or at least most, politicians in charge.

That was pure mud versu Novak about 7 years:ago(2013)..It was a very competitive match
Wait, was this RG where Nadal escaped due to 2 rain cancelations ? I know he almost lost one RG - some rain fell.

Escaped? yes there were 2 rain delays,apart from being bad light,wet and of course the balls were heavy.I have been to RG many times over the years,from a spectator's point of view it was just horrid ,the match Should have been put on earlier, in the day,the officials were aware of the bad weather to come.Finally the officials postponed the match till the next day,being Monday.
