I think the poster was referring to the semi's final between Novak and Rafa 9-7 in the 5th set

Well the poster should have said s/final in 2013? against Novak as the poster did not make himself/herself clear when he replied to my post of the final I attended in 2012 against Novak.

BTW from memory there was no rain delays during the s/final at RG between Rafa vs Novak in 2013? I will check to make sure.
No rain delays at all in their s/final match in 2013.

Official statement from the ATP and WTA,

After careful consideration due to the continuing outbreak of COVID-19 all ATP and WTA tournaments in the Spring clay court swing will not be held as scheduled. The season is now suspended through to June 7.
In parallel, the FedEx ATP rankings and WTA rankings will be frozen throughout this period and until further notice.

This is absolutely selfish of RG to unilaterally announce the dates without consultation with ATP, the Players Council and organizers of other tournaments.:nono:

Read this article.

Still waiting for an official statement regarding the rescheduling from the ATP and WTA? There are tournaments which are held in Asia for the WTA and ATP starting from Sept 20 to October 4?.Beijing a shared tournament starts October 5th? with the re-scheduling of RG further affect these tournaments?

No rain delays at all in their s/final match in 2013.

I was thinking that crazy match, think there were 2 delays, when rain come Nadal started to loosing, and just cancelation spared him. I thought that was RG, i was even watching on TV, but i might missed it for some other tournament. Maybe was on grass ?

p.S. Since i cover Marathons, we have very similar situation. Marathon Majors are almost week apart !

9/14 Boston Marathon
9/27 Berlin Marathon
10/4 London Marathon
10/11 Chicago Marathon
11/1 New York City Marathon

Not to mention cycling, all races off, except Paris-Nice. Giro di Italia still not confirmed, and Tour also. Worst its Olympic year. I just hope they wont cancel even 2020 Tokyo Olympics. I still think Olympic medal is crown for sportsman. Despite cyclers like Tour more, and some would like Wimby more than Olympic gold. In marathon no question.

First at all we'll see if they will play at that time and second if it will happen I think that the Laver Cup EXHIBITION should be quiet or now it is more important than a GS? really Roger?

The problem is the unilateral announcement without consulting with ATP, Player's Council and other affected tournaments. RG should not do it. This is a community. Everybody is in it together. It is so selfish of RG.

You left out the important piece.

"Now is not a time to act unilaterally, but in unison. All decisions related to the impact of the coronavirus require appropriate consultation and review with the stakeholders in the game, a view that is shared by ATP, WTA, ITF, AELTC, Tennis Australia, and USTA."

Shame on RG.

That match was not cancelled,it was postponed till the next day Monday, due to bad light and conditions,as I said in my post to you,the officials knew of the bad weather to come,it should have been scheduled earlier on Sunday to start with.Rain delays are not fair to any player, players have to adjust to these conditions, especially outdoors,I do not think the rain saved Rafa quite frankly,

Still waiting for the reply from the governing bodies regarding this re-scheduling quite frankly before I can make a further comment.

The conditions were very bruta in that rain l. A stoppage of play was necessary just like last year it(Thiem vs Novak) was stopped due to the high winds

I really hope they freeze rankings until play resumes.

They already announced they will freeze the points.

But, now it depends on what they mean by freezing.

Most probably, they are saying no substractions will be done to the points until the season restarts.

But, I do think they will include all these idle weeks as part of Nole's #1 record though.

I'm not sure now! Yesterday it said 283 weeks at #1! A bit ago I checked Wiki again and it had been lowered to 281 weeks, now 282 weeks! :thinking-face:
