Here is Djoker / Nadal situation for defending 2019 points:

DjokerNadal
Indian Wells45360
Miami90360
Barcelona0180
Madrid1000360
Rome6001000
Roland Garros7202000
Wimbledon2000720

So more or less to Madrid they lose almost same sum of points. Worst for Nadal would be canceling of Rome and RG. But if Wimby out too, then around 400 points benefit for Djoker. Saw points on other site, hope they are correct.

So if they dont play it will be good for Novak. And if they play it will be much better ;) .

There are 2 challengers currently played, one in Kazakhstan and one in South Africa. I am curious if there will be any next week.

The travel ban killed it. They should really consider playing without spectators in some venues (a lot of viewers around the world would like that).

But who would play, if there are travel bans? And how many players are going to be willing to travel, even if that’s possible?

They have families, too, and wouldn’t want to get them sick. Imagine: Roger gets it because of his international travel and exposure to so many people, then passes it to Mirka, his four children, his team, etc. — he’s not going to risk that, IMO.

Obviously travel bans can hurt a lot. But it is way easier to have precautionary measures for just the players and staff than to the whole public.

The point is: life goes on. We cannot shut down the entire world.

The world has just "shut down!" Miami was formally cancelled; now a firm date of April 27th is the earliest for resumption of play! :pleading-face:

Regarding Ranking points, just read this on Twitter,

"The ATP is carefully reviewing the broad impact of this evolving situation related to FedEx ATP Ranking points, and any decisions will be announced in due course."

uk govt/medical boffins said in press conf, peak of pandemic will arrive 10-14 wks time..

then 3months after that before we return to where we are today. so far 596cases/10deaths..

but real infections are between 5k-10k, due to non tested cases estimate..
so if that is reality then we can forget about wimbledon. :radioactive: :skull-and-crossbones::-(:pile-of-poo::eek:

Virus came too soon this season. I wonder who will be affected the most. If they cancel RG, but decide to go with Wimbledon that's a huge opportunity lost for Nadal. Or if they cancel both slams before USO that's just lot's of opportunities lost for all who are in a slam chase and perhaps Thiem too for RG. Even if they play RG without warm up tourneys no one knows who will be in best form for those 2 weeks.

My reading of it is that the Mayor of Miami cancelled it, not the tournament, along with other sporting events in Miami, including a 5K, which probably wasn't going to get any international entrants. I don't think it was the travel ban that killed it.

this is shit. everything is going to grind to a halt..
get ready for zero sport worldwide pretty soon. :shitstorm:

That. I have just realized, in this situation, how much "sport dependant" am I. Not just watching, but lacking to be participant too. Marathon is canaceled, now if i get this virus, almost half year of training will limit go zero.
