Nice to see the Next Gen players take advantage of the absence of GOATdal and reach the SFs. Good for them! Next year will be interesting with Nadal at number one and the next GEN trying to keep up with him.

Do you think Nadal did a good job of keeping up with Djokovic in the Australian Open final this year? Just wondering.

A small historical moment here. First time since 1999, all semifinalist on Masters 1000 are 23 or younger.

Anyways another interesting stat is that the more attractive/handsome players won today B-)

Tsitsipas > Djokovic
Zverev > Federer

Also back to the topic I am surprised how not a lot of people pointed out the horrible attitude by Federer today. He acted like such a diva, it was disgusting to watch. :negative:

Safe to say Ziraffe's slump is over. The LC really did it for him.
I didn't see the Fed match, but I watched Zverev in the previous round. I absolutely thought he was looking to be rather a changed man, and we were giving LC some credit, when it happened. Maybe Roger won't invite him next year. :lol6:

Watch the highlights. Zverev was very good in fairness. Serving was extremely impressive. The game Federer was down 5-6 and 40-0 in set 2 was unreal too and decent edgy tiebreak. Roger played some unreal stuff to save those match points.

They're repeating the match now. I'll give it a look.

Be sure not to miss the part where Federer hits a ball into the crowd and gets a point penalty and then makes a big scene... :lol6:

I will. I won't pretend that I don't like to see St. Roger break character when things don't go his way.

Just getting there now. Meantime, some real junk from Roger. And talk about moonballs. From both. (Worth remembering it's a tactic, by some.) Still, way too much air under some of those volleys by Fed. Passed with ease. Definitely vintage stuff, as you pointed out, with the match on the line. Back to the wall, he found a higher level. Just couldn't keep it up.

EDIT: Fed gets broken in the 2nd game of the 3rd set, and he's railing at the ump about letting him know when it's new balls (seriously?,) and wanders over to get a new racquet, slowing things down. In fact, he keeps hectoring the umpire. Rather Kyrgios-like and uncharacteristic. Don't tell me that gamesmanship is only on Nadal. He fully stopped that match, when Zverev had the momentum. On top of it, a point lost to code violation.

Roger was abusing that umpire. The guy is obviously young and I don't recognize him. Fed was browbeating him for no reason. I think he should be fined.

It was a pretty mild tap. But he hit it into the crowd in anger. I guess that's a judgement call. Didn't make Roger happy.

Maybe the umpire resemblance of a young Rafa is why Roger was abusing him..

"Double-Standard," thy name is Front. We're never going to get it. He'll complain about the ump. No comment will be made about all of the Roger Jabberwocky that was clearly meant to slow things down and cool off Zverev. Gamesmanship on display. I'll be very surprised if Front could see it.

It was gamesmanship ship in it's purest form but you ain't gonna get a peep out of Front ..no Sir ree Bob. Front will send his kin to jail before he squeal on Federer.

Gamesmanship lol. Yeah of course you'd be surprised because it wasn't gamesmanship. He was annoyed with himself for netting an easy ball and tapped a ball into the crowd. Then he was annoyed with the umpire for getting a point penalty for a soft little tap of a ball and talked to the umpire for about 30 seconds. I wouldn't have made a big deal out of that no matter who it was because it was absolutely nothing. You even stupidly said above in another post he should be fined lol. For what exactly? Your beloved Ferret did the same very lightly tapped into the crowd at a woman with a crying baby and no one fined him so grow up.

Daniil is way stronger than the Greek, not even playing his best. Great future if staying focused and motivated. Not like Marat in the good old times.
His style is funny but effective as hell

Federer should be fined for hitting the ball into the crowd he could have hurt someone plus Federer was acting like a little girl the whole match, also who losses to zverev four times? not nadal that's for sure.
