I like a lot of players, but Nole has been #1 for me from the beginning, through thick and thin.

Yeah, I was a little surprised when she asked me, but I guess Lucy never visited TF before. I thought even birds knew who is the one for me.

Not a TF migrant, she used to be on BBC boards back in the day. There will be a dovetailing of posters on here over the next few weeks from various sources! Hopefully!

That is great BB, as much as I like familiar posters, I would also like to see some new ones as well.  :yahoo:

Ritchie is hanging on in the 2nd set.  Sadly I have to take my mom shopping, she's restless now LOL

Sweet dreams BB and talk to you later. :bye:

and Bernard tomic seems to have turned a corner in his head since that police party shambles a while back..coming out with some sensible tennis comments, going top 20 and now beating ferrer in straights.. he is turning 23 years old this month, maybe his mentality has matured finally. although he lost to murray in davis cup I was surprised how he kept his cool in the face of murraymania.
I think Tomic got serious about his career, I read an article where he mentions he shoots for a top 15 finish by year end. That would be a good realistic goal and it would prove that he is not just a playboy. He could defeat Richie for starters tomorrow…</blockquote>
I don’t think it has hurt his mentality to have a push from the younger Aussies, Kyrios and Kokkinakis, coming up to show that he’s not the only best hope for Oz tennis. They, and some misfortunes, have scared the brat out of him, perhaps. Hopefully so.
I agree. He needed a trigger and that was the younger ones who were suddenly the chosen ones.

Tomic won in 3 sets. Good job, he will climb next week to a new career high inside the top 20, passing by Monfils.

A little bit of competition doesn't hurt, it seems.  Tomic is slowly but surely rising in the rankings.

I have to give Nadal some credit for the way he is playing this week.....he looks very sharp and very confident, as if he senses that he he has re-discovered his form. His energy is very high and his movement is giving him full court coverage. He hit great passing shots consistently against Karlovic and he was very aggressive in his service games against Raonic.

I think he has a very good chance of beating Wawrinka and reaching the final. Perhaps playing Djokovic re-kindled some competitive flames.

Nadal showed good form in Beijing as well, I posted about it then.  Too bad it is so early for me to get up and watch this match, being a working day after that.  I think that all 4 matches could potentially be very competitive.

Nadal destroys Wawrinka 6-2 6-2. Wawrinka looked flat, but Nadal played as well as I've seen him play all year.

Incredible first set between Djokovic and Tomic.  Tomic's playing out of his skin and given Novak all he can handle.

Question is if he can maintain that intensity in set 2.

A very good and tight 1st set, maybe it took something out of Tomic, as well as he finished late last night.

BB. is something going on with Quote and Reply?  not working again.

I'd say that's the most impressive 3-match stretch Nadal has put together all year. It's good that he got tough draw. I'm even happy Tsonga beat  Anderson even though the latter would have made for a much easier match-up. First encouraging signs all year, honestly.
