From the news articles, it looks like they are trying to suppress it away and he will undergo
surgery only if it comes back again.

I'd do the same myself. Same with wisdom teeth. Some people choose to get them taken out but personally I put up with antibiotics a few times and eventually the pain went away. Screw surgery unless 100% necessary was my thought on the matter and no doubt same for Rafa.

It's not good to be on antibiotics, and especially for an athlete. I wish he'd deal with this without further burdening his body. If surgery is the cleanest and most effective way, I think he should have this as soon as poss.

As someone who has had over 30 years in the medical profession,also I had a dodgy appendix,which happened to burst by the way,after I was put on medication.When you are put on medication,in some cases there is only a 50% chance that is works.To me Rafa should have withdrawn.
