Seems a bit dense to me! Imagine 7-6 (12) 7-6 (10) 7-6 (7). A few points the other way and you lost by the same score yet you'd say they were spanked in straight sets?! Spanked means demolished like Berdych was by Djokovic in Beijing 6-0 6-2.

And in my travels to Florida, Massachusetts, Jersey, New York, Texas - places where I've played competitive sports - "spanked" means a whipping, not pulling out a win 7-6. I have never heard it used the way you say.

You have to always be ware of the good doctor "evil" because he always dictates play, you are not alllowed to get into a rythmn, so you are pretty much at his mercy and hoping he is not cutting you so deep with his serves and strokes..
