It's been my only real problem w/ Rune; typical kid with a need tp pump himself up! I find it only disrespectful when they do it against senior players like Novak! There's Shelton, Rune, de Manaur, Fritz, & Sinner! He pays them back eventually, destroys them on court, then catches flack! WHY? :face-with-hand-over-mouth:
Well, I wasn’t really referring to Djoker. We have a jazillion posts about the Big 3 and it’s impossible to separate them. I was thinking of Holger.

I said before, I like that he’s a bandit - but there’s a world of difference between that and being a champion. You can be a bad boy, but still lack ambition…

Holger takes the TB in style, and the crowd boos and Novak goes off court with his bag.

What’s with the bag? Why would he need to bring the bag? Why would he need to go off? Is it a toilet break and he needs through superstitious reason to piss into his bag? What is it? Why does he need to bring the bag with him?

Was that elbow-gastric? Gastric hamstring? Was this an injury break? And is a gastronomic issue an injury? Hmm.
Maybe all the above, though he usually takes a bathroom break when he loses a set dosent he?

You know, I think you’re right! I wonder what the stats are of Novak heading off court with his bag and his bottles and talking about ten luxurious minutes - after he won the set.

Would that be about zero percent? Not calling him a cheat, or anything, because we know that already, but in this aspect of his strange behaviour, I’d say zilch toilet breaks after he won a set?

Quite frankly in the best of a 3 set match, I dont think a player needs a toilet break, unless the conditions are hot and humid and a player quickly needs to change his clothes, just my opinion, it also breaks the momentum of a player that just took a set of you as well.

Exactly. Who needs to bring their bag off after a mere 2 sets? It’s not like he’s going through customs and the bag is too heavy. The bag is minding its own business sleeping like Lieutenant Columbo’s fat lazy dog at the side of the court, not wanting to go anywhere…

I'm not so opposed to players taking a bathroom break, even if they just want to have a chat with "the man in the mirror," as Goodall says. There is a time limit. But I don't see that it should be legal to take a bag, especially if there's no need for a kit change. And I think they should have to request the bag from the umpire for a kit change. But, yeah, I'd love to see the stats on how many players go off after they've won the set vs. when they've lost it.

And I don’t think they should be allowed to take a toilet break unless they’re taking a piss, and even that should be accompanied and witnessed by an official who waits while they do. They ought not to be out of sight, or talk to anyone…
