You know, I think you’re right! I wonder what the stats are of Novak heading off court with his bag and his bottles and talking about ten luxurious minutes - after he won the set.

Would that be about zero percent? Not calling him a cheat, or anything, because we know that already, but in this aspect of his strange behaviour, I’d say zilch toilet breaks after he won a set?
I didn't see this post before writing what I wrote above about seeing the stats, though I was talking about all players. But, yes, for Novak in particular...when was the last time he took a break after winning the set? How can you only need to pee after you lose a set? Fed fans used to give Rafa a hard time about toilet breaks, but he took them often enough when he won the set, which I know because you had to point that out the "haters." (Ol' Front has a catalogue of Rafa's Toilet Breaks Through the Years.) Plus, Rafa sweats enough for a kit change during a snow storm. :lulz1:

I'm not so opposed to players taking a bathroom break, even if they just want to have a chat with "the man in the mirror," as Goodall says. There is a time limit. But I don't see that it should be legal to take a bag, especially if there's no need for a kit change. And I think they should have to request the bag from the umpire for a kit change. But, yeah, I'd love to see the stats on how many players go off after they've won the set vs. when they've lost it.
Players are allowed one 3min toilet break, in a best of 3 match, I cant see a rule saying they cannot take their bag with them, I still stand by my opinion that it has been used as a 'tactical weapon' to stop the momentum when the player has lost a set, quite frankly I cant see a valid reason why a player needs to go to the toilet in a 3 set match, just my opinion. Agree, to see stats on how many players go off after they've won the set vs when they're lost it.

And I don’t think they should be allowed to take a toilet break unless they’re taking a piss, and even that should be accompanied and witnessed by an official who waits while they do. They ought not to be out of sight, or talk to anyone…
There is a monitor that goes with them, to make sure they talk to no one, no cell phones, and, presumably so they don't take anything. I'm OK if they insist that they pee if they say they have to. Not sure exactly how closely they're monitored, though. ATP hasn't provided details on that, as far as I know. That's the kind of thing that @tented is often good at ferreting out.

It’s absolutely a tactical weapon, and as such it’s an abuse of the rule. It’s cheating. Djoker fans like to wonder why he isn’t so popular as Rafa or Roger - but neither of them cheated. And he cheats on big scales. Fans aren’t stupid…

Sure U R! You have t/b a special kind of idiot to "boo" someone for leaving the court for a "break" & have all kinds of conspiracies attached to it!

Or French. As Margaret points out, they'll boo at the drop of a hat. (They also love The Wave, which I find bizarre from chic and dignified French people, but there it is.) Novak got into it with the crowd yesterday, and they didn't forget today. He made he own bed, which he often does. Look, he works well with an adversarial crowd. Sometimes he seems to need it to get that chip on his shoulder glowing red hot. He was having a very off-day yesterday, but, once the crowd set him alight, he didn't lose another point. He thrives on it, so that goes both ways.

It was weird seeing Becker in Rune’s box. I’m sure he coached the Dane on what shots to hit and where the vulnerabilities are in the Serb’s game. Nice to see Novak even the H2H.

Do you really think Becker helped Novaks game? I mean Novak was a champion player, when he hired Becker, I always felt Becker was an 'entitled' individual.

Note to Boris Becker,

Please get Rune to take off that cap he wears backwards, thanks in advance, I blame Lleyton Hewitt he kind of started that craze.
MM. @MargaretMcAleer whenever you're serving, you want to be able to look up and maintain eye to eye contact with the ball. However your point is understood when Holger isn't serving or just in rallies. @don_fabio (Don may agree with you ).. just my two cents worth because I played with my cap backwards.

Besides encouraging Novak to have dalliances with Russian whores?? Nah.
Never heard about the Russian whores, but you can fill us in on that one. TC commentators said that Boris helped him get over the hump of losing to his biggest rivals. That he helped him gain a champion's mentality. Personally, I'd have to go back to the time line. You're not buying that? No benefit?
