Wow...the Big 3 competition is getting ugly. You're not usually so profane, @herios. Could be a fun match tomorrow. At the risk of playing into the Fed conspiracy theorists' game, Annacone says the surface is playing slow. :drums:
Sorry, but I would have never gotten this nasty if @monfed wasn't reminding about that match when Roger showed the finger. I cannot forgive Roger for that gesture.

At least I'm not the only one! It was so immature of him; esp. when doing it to an opponent who's just about owned him for the most part! He did it at Rafa in one of the Masters QF quite a few years ago! It's just not appropriate when these 2 players own his arse! He gets one win and has to gloat! It's one of the things that finally got me off the Fed GOAT train! He's still the best ever, but he makes it hard to support him dragging it out like this and being so rude at times as if he's entitled! :nono:

He's done a lot of wagging of the finger...which one are you so mad about?

Maybe he should adopt a more subtle gesture like ripping his shirt off and roaring at the crowd.

I'm from a generation that anything above those stupid fist-clenches is overdoing it and showing up the opponent! I played tennis for over 30 years, won my share of titles, and I didn't do any of that crap! The opponent doesn't deserve it and it's classless IMO! I don't expect people to be genteel, but I still feel the same as I did as a kid with too much exaltations of a win is too much! :nono:  :cheerleader:

:lulz2: TBH, a lot of non-Fed fans have been put off by the odd wag of the Fed finger at given moments, b/c he can be an arrogant so-and-so, but at least it's not that.

He was a pretty heavy underdog going into that Paris clash. Djokovic was on that stellar 2011 run. Federer can be arrogant, less so now than maybe then I think... but I think he can be dangerous in that position. Djokovic will be heavy favourite here, but I wouldn't put it past the old campaigner to pull out the surprise.

He was less of an underdog in that Paris match than he will be here. Djokovic was on a streak, but they do end. And, at that point, it had to be said that Federer was the more proven on clay. I have no idea what the odds were, but to say that Fed was a "heavy underdog" is overstating it, I'm sure. Fed had been in 4 finals at RG and won one, whereas Djokovic had yet even to make a final there. Let's be real.

As to tomorrow, Djokovic hasn't looked imperious, but neither has Federer. Roger could sneak it out, but I'll give him 35-65 chance. Also, I pick Khachanov to beat Thiem, who looks totally beatable this week.

What non-sense? At the time of 2011 RG SF, it was Fed who owned Novak. Only after he became geriatric, Novak got the lead on H2H.

You are so FOS talking this geriatric BS! Was he too old 4-6 years before when Nadal was wearing his arse out; even on grass! Nole took over their rivalry in 2010 by overcoming 2 MP at the SF of 2010 USO since you make me invoke it again! The same thing happened in 2011 with Roger only getting his upset in a major at RG! Nole also went down to Fed on that fast court in Cincy in 2015; geriatric then too? If he's too fk'n old, tell Roger to stop playing because I really don't want to hear this geriatric crap; esp. since he's won 3 majors without Nole around! That just tells me Fed couldn't beat him; esp. in majors! :nono:  :cuckoo:

Djoker didn't take over anything until 2011 and even then he got clowned at that RG by a pathetic version of Roger who was worthless after AO 2010. After the USO 2010 match Djoker lost 3 in a row to Roger to finish the year. Last I checked Djokovic was in the draw for all of Roger's 3 major wins the last two years. It isn't Fed'a fault that Djokovic was worthless. At least in Roger's garbage years (2010, 2011, 2013-2016, 2018 after AO) he was still able to make the occasional final to fatten up the H2H for the 6 year younger Djokovic.

I love how you guys are going crazy over the finger wag. How about you explain away the shirt ripping and roaring that BB mentioned.

This matchup is delicious. :good: Can’t wait to see who will lose  Hopefully it will be in either humiliating fashion 6-0, 6-0 or in a dramatic match after wasting 10 match points:lol3:
