Roger is slicing, with the hope of frustrating Novak.

Nothing new! He actually gets away with it for a while, but the grind usually wears Roger down eventually! Nole gets back too many balls making most opponents go for TOO MUCH! Roger's king of that against some when he does drop close matches! :yesyes: :banghead: :cuckoo:

They always say the legs are the 1st to go! With great players I think it's the serve! Martina Navratilova had to work so much harder in her later years due to the MPH going down on her serve! Even in doubles, many returns could be knocked off even with her defenses in the game! I know I wasn't smacking the ball as hard in my mid to late 30's making matches more competitive even against my pigeons!

I don't care about WTA bullshit. For men it's the power that is the last thing to go. Speed, endurance and other physical capabilities decline earlier.

And if you were too old to serve well why didn't you fucking retire like you urge Roger to do :whistle:

Roger finally gets out of that game, with a bit of luck. Hate to say it, but I think Djokovic's serve is better than ever, on the other hand.

These games are going on too long! Roger's already winded! Even if he steals this 1st set, I think Nole'll crush him in the next 2! :yesyes:
Djokovic shouldn't allow a man almost 6 years years his senior to steal a set from him. This match shouldn't even be this close, when you consider how bad Federer is currently.

Roger is slow as shit, looks about 47 years old. He should have been kicking up his feet and resting these past couple months. I don't see him suddenly finding a bunch of energy for 2019 now.

I'd call that brilliance, he has ridiculous reflexes and hand-eye coordination. It was Djoker who got lucky to hit the net as is.

After all that some lame way to lose the set. Still, so much for the Djo-tards on forums claiming Djokovic is the GOAT when he can barely beat Federer playing like crap at 37 lol. Kinda puts things in perspective. :popcorn

Still question the guy's thought process. You know you're old and currently playing like shit with showing major signs of burning out. Why even play? He isn't winning anything of note playing like this.

Any complaints from Djoker fans that Djokovic roared like a madman after winning set one vs this weak grandpa?
