Credit to Garbine in her game against Sveta,Sveta serve let her down and she was passive, when she needed to be aggressive, especially in her ROS.I have Garbine in the final fingers crossed:)

Pironkova making the quarters at RG, that's pretty crazy. I like her, but she usually does nothing except on grass.

Radwanska and Halep did a lot of grousing about having to play today, after they were both upset. That seems like sour grapes. It's an outdoor tournament, and you have to face the conditions. I'm sure the tournament was trying to get some matches in, and forced it a bit today, but you can play with some rain on clay. Part of the deal is managing conditions at an outdoor tourney, is it not?

Stosur who has one of the best bhand slices in the womens game used it effectively against Halep, she handled the heavy conditions much better than Halep.

Bertens just beat Keys: she is on a 17 match winning streak (including doubles).

Shelby had set points in the first, but Garbiñe dug in a pulled it out. I really like her commitment. Great run by Rogers, though, and she kept herself in the second as long as she could. I'm liking both of these women for their mentality...and their tennis, of course.
