She did the same thing in Oz. She had the break in the decider and her serve and FH went somewhere else. Kenin ran away w/ the title.

She's not (yet) as frustrating as Marat Safin was, to be a fan of, but she's getting there. If she doesn't have a sports psychologist, she needs one.

Is this fate or what? this time last year Simona Halep played Iga Swiatek defeating her 61 60.
Iga is the only teenager left in the draw? can she turn the tables on Halep who was just clinical in her last match against Anisimova.

Caroline Garcia has come from a set down and a break down in her last 3 matches against Elina Svitilona can she continue this consistency which really is not her strong suit?

Kiki Bertens dropped just 3 games last time she played (Q) Martina Trevisan in Charleston last year.

No117 B.Krejcikova vs No131 N.Padoroska, the winner will be the first woman ranked outside Top 100 to reach the q/final in Paris since 2016.

Goodness me we could have a potential upset here....Swiatek just played a near flawless 1st set winning 61 in 24 minutes over Halep, her fhand is on song and her slice just great to watch

Question is can she sustain this level?

1st set stats

Swiatek W17 UFE 8

Halep W4 UFE 5

Halep needed that game saving 3BPs she gets on the board in the 2nd set..Iga leading 2-1
Iga really playing aggressive tennis and her returns have had Halep on the back foot so far in the match

Halepeno in trouble. Out of everyone left, Iga could win this whole thing. To me the big difference with these players is belief. They’ve seen all these new slam winners and they say why not me?

With a winning fhand and on her 6thBP in Halep's service game,Iga breaks and leads 4-1 2nd set
Halep's first serve is letting her down and 2DFs in her service game did not help her cause at all,she is feeling the pressure from the teenager, who is just a delight to watch, with no fear and controlled tennis.

In the other ladies match it is 3 all in the 2nd set between Kiki Bertens (5) vs (Q) Martina Trevisan who won the 1st set 64.

My last night of night shift for the week....thank goodness though I was happy that I was able to watch Iga's match

Enjoy the rest of the tennis everyone,we witnessed a very promising player in Iga.
