When Rune stops using his Gamenmenship Tactics like he did in the 4th set today I might just come around to liking as a player, calling the trainer?
I dont like any player that tanks to conserve energy to keep their energy for the 5th set,
I would admire Rune, if he tried to compete in the 4th set, on clay you have to compete on every point and focus
Rune also wastes too much emotional energy trying to get the crowd on his side, it also can be a downfall in matches going forward
For posters saying that Cerundolo is overated well their nearly had to choke on their words today in this match
Yes Francisco got tight and lost the match, too many UFE, though he competed in every set, I have always liked him as a player

Yes and No.

The Draw matters, but its part of the game, so of course unfair or not you deal with it.

There was a football game back in the 80’s where the Chargers beat the Dolphins in triple(?) overtime in the hot sweltering humid Miami weather.

The next week they played the Bengals in what seemed like snow blizzard subzero temp and lost, and yes the weather was a factor.

Pete Sampras played the last 3 defending champs of the USO in 2001 ( Rafter, Agassi, Safin) before losing to Lleyton Hewitt in the final. Hewitt deserved the win, but the draw mattered. So I get not saying the Draw should be the end all and be all of tennis discission but it is part of the fabric of the game. The Draw is an issue.
K wasn't saying that the draw doesn't matter. She was speaking rather pointedly to a poster who keeps insisting that Novak has what an easy draw. That endless whining and complaining screams of "agenda." Downplaying your enemies draw is designed to undermine achievement, and it's a time-honored troll move.

But sure, the draw matters! That's why we anticipate it so much, and discuss so hotly before and after it comes out. And it is probably why most players say they don't look ahead.

Good luck and bad luck happens to all, including weather, weather-delays, and draws opening up, or not. K says she's been looking for a particular Federer quote about being ready to play 7 five-setters. This is the closest I could find, but it's in the vein. This was prior to the 2013 FO: "In a Slam, where you know you're going to enter best-of-5-set matches over two, three weeks, you have to be at your best, and you need to feel like you can compete with the best at the highest of levels for a long period of time," Federer said. "There's no shortcuts in best-of-5-set matches."

Kieran, Anna was really modern day Aphrodite. I spoke with her in Miami and she was a real charmer. Do you think Marat conquered that one? I have $5 on it that he did. Its probably the reason Anna never won a WTA title other than doubles because of her social life was an obvious hinderance.
This is the 2nd time you bring up Kournikova this week. I know if you guys think she was beautiful and sexy, who am I to say. But, really?! To me, she looked like russianwives.com. Or a little girl. Ick!

Well, if Margaret and I can still drool over Marat Safin, (2x Major winner,) I suppose I can't say anything, but I still think we show better taste. :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Moving on....

LOL , Have you even read this thread? The guys have implied Marat “more efficient in threesomes” Safin was practically a walking poster child for STD’s…. ;)

I will post this again,

Novak has the 3rd day match on Chatrier tomorrow against KK, I know Novak can save tennis:) Novak leads their H2H 8-1

Alcaraz has the night match against Stef tomorrow in their QF match on Chatrier Alcaraz leads H2H against Stef 4-0
Silent K will be lucky to get a set.

Hopefully the same for the petulant Greek. ¡Vamos, Carlitos!

Marat was a dog, but he was a very handsome one, and a great tennis player. Kournikova was marginally good looking, and a marginally good tennis player. I can't believe AP is still talking about her.

Why is he complaining about playing in the marquee match slot? Would he prefer to play in the day when the shadows are an issue, and the wind? I have no time for this diva.

From a scale of 1 (least good looking) to 10 (most good looking), I would rate Safin 8, Kournikova 9, Nadal 100, Djokovic 0. :good:

Kournikova was fine, but personally I preferred the other Ana, Ana Ivanovic, (#1 ranked player, Slam winner, 2 GS finalist) plus unlike the Russians she seemed such a sweet persona, with a down to earth girl next door vibe to her, if you were fortunate to live next to a knockout beauty.

Deja vu the Crown Prince bitched last year about Alcaraz receiving "preferential" treatment,
No satisfying this entitled one

The reason he was not happy playing night matches was if the match went to 5 sets, and his match ended early hours of the morning he might not have had enough time to recover? like he has a day off in GS tournaments, he said sleep is required for a complete recovery, sleep is important for an athlete? hello Sasha getting at least 8 hours sleep per day is required for all people regardless if your an athlete or not
I was just catching up with some much needed sleep as well Sasha :)

Good catch! What a class A whiner. A, as in a**hole. Zverev has talent, but he lacks the...what?...head, stones, championship mentality? So he complains to the tour. If he actually had the game, maybe he wouldn't have to whinge so much.
