Pat was one of my favorite warriors of that generation.. I actually like him as person better than AgassiI understand what you meant, just giving some light humor to the post that is all, agree when many people said he would win Wimbledon I also shook my head. I still cannot understand to this day why Pat Rafter with all his skills could not win Wimbledon he has the game to win on grass.
Well, Pat was unlucky. He had Sampras on the ropes in 2000, up a set, up a double break in the second set tiebreak, and he collapsed a little. I remember watching Pete get the mini break at 5-4 and let out a roar. I let one out too. The match was over - and it was still only the second set.
You can see that sweet moment here, at 11 minutes and 20 seconds.
Dont push me, a like is good where I come fromI wanted a like for my Nobel Peace Prize post..
Everybody loved Pat. He was the del Potro of that time, everyone’s second favourite..I went to a lunch for Pat many years ago and talked about his career, he is such a great person, my fav Aussie by the way, he said he came to terms with the reason he could not win Wimbledon his fav tournament, he said looking back, I feel I wasnt meant to win Wimbledon, he was happy with his career he had those shoulder problems had to retire also has has 2 more surgeries on his shoulder
Okay time for a Love Like you push my buttons wellPat was one of my favorite warriors of that generation.. I actually like him as person better than Agassi
It makes me sad when someone brings up Wimbledon after his loss to that one slam wonder, I just cried and ate junk food non stop for 24 hoursEverybody loved Pat. He was the del Potro of that time, everyone’s second favourite..
I can understand that. I think everyone else was kind of neutral in that final. That’s why it was so enjoyable. Two popular players, playing on Monday, great crowd, and a great match. Nobody minded who won - apart from Croats and Australians..It makes me sad when someone brings up Wimbledon after his loss to that one slam wonder, I just cried and ate junk food non stop for 24 hours

The Pou was out trying to get some p#s instead of trying to be a GS champion.. Only Safin was about to be able to "multiTask " in that type of environment.Another one that was really unlucky was Mark Philippoussis. He was up a set on Sampras in 1999 before getting injured, causing him to retire in the match. Then, when the Sampras era was over, Philippoussis finally made it to the finals, where he lost to Federer, the next great on grass.
Poo never played to his potential ,lazy trainer and preferred fast cars and loose woman then tennis, no time for players that have all the potential in the world like the Poo had, simply could not be botheredAnother one that was really unlucky was Mark Philippoussis. That’s a low bar, just saying.Pat was one of my favorite warriors of that generation.. I actually like him as person better than Agassi
Hell that was my 3rd like for you today? will you stop itThe Pou was out trying to get some p#s instead of trying to be a GS champion.. Only Safin was about to be able to "multiTask " in that type of environment.
He was unlucky with injuries and he had that famous win against Pete in Australia in 1996, but there was also an element of the himbo about Phillippoussis. He was never fully committed. There’s a funny story by Pat Cash during Mark’s Kournikova phase, to the extent that Cash says something like, if Mark wants to win matches he could start by staying out of Kournikova’s bedroom!Another one that was really unlucky was Mark Philippoussis. What's wrong with loose women! Especially if you are like myself who never had any outside vices such as drinking or any type of vices of the such. Loose women are a much welcome commodity in this crazy ass world we reside in. jajajaPoo never played to his potential ,lazy trainer and preferred fast cars and loose woman then tennis, no time for players that have all the potential in the world like the Poo had, simply could not be bothered
Very low..That’s a low bar, just saying.
Speaking of Cash, have y'all seen him.. I saw him in Cincy 2019 and he looks very weathered and walks like he is a few steps away from a walking cane.He was unlucky with injuries and he had that famous win against Pete in Australia in 1996, but there was also an element of the himbo about Phillippoussis. He is coaching on the WTA at present to a young Chinese girl, my least favored Aussie of all timeSpeaking of Cash, have y'all seen him.. I saw him in Cincy 2019 and he looks very weathered and walks like he is a few steps away from a walking cane.
Really? Poor bloke. All them injuries catching up. I hope Rafa’s not like that in his fifties…Speaking of Cash, have y'all seen him.. I saw him in Cincy 2019 and he looks very weathered and walks like he is a few steps away from a walking cane.
