The reason he was not happy playing night matches was if the match went to 5 sets, and his match ended early hours of the morning he might not have had enough time to recover? like he has a day off in GS tournaments, he said sleep is required for a complete recovery, sleep is important for an athlete? hello Sasha getting at least 8 hours sleep per day is required for all people regardless if your an athlete or not
I was just catching up with some much needed sleep as well Sasha :)
I have very little time for tennis players who whine about working late. You work in the entertainment business, and the marquee match is at night. You get paid a lot of money to entertain people. You're going to get an ice bath, and a massage after, and lovely French room service. You don't have to wake up at 6am. You just made 400,000 Euros for making the QFs. Suck it up.

Well welcome to my profession I have worked double nights shifts for many years at the hosptial that is 16 hours straight, I accepted it, also got and still called in on days off, it is part of my job.
These days tennis players are becoming ' too precious'

Exactly my point. You work hard, and no one is shocked that you do 8 hours, or 10. Commentators freaking out today that men and women play near to or over 4 hours! At the rate of 100,000 euros per hour! Slave wages. Shocking.

When I was hitting the ball I didn't know :pile-of-poo:

Don @don_fabio This is a tough one because as a player you are competing so hard .. really I can't find a reason to defend Holger but in the heat of battle it's hard to give up a point..e g. Would you give up a point at mp during a 5 setter ?

I probably would, because I am fair play guy.

I understand players are fighting out there on the courts leaving all they have and these things can happen, but it was early in the set, he could also admit it was a double bounce. Cerundolo actually had a clear winner situation there but stopped the play, Rune was beaten in that point already, but basically snatched it with decision to not say anything.

I was saying the same thing about Saba. Some of these heavy hitters have no filter on BP or a big point. They just need to add a little more margin and the point would be theirs, but there is no such word in their vocab

Exactly. I watched Saba a few times this RG, sometimes she just need to put a decent ball in the open court, but there she goes for the line, like doesn't know any other way. Not to mention 0 dropshots per match and no net play, no slice, no variety, just endless pounding on the ball and her grunting is heard in the next neighbourhood.

Nah.. I'm a fair guy but I try to find a way to give the point back another way.. Sometimes it depends on the player..especially if I felt the guy was hooking me if there's no umpire or official .. I would find a way to rehook that person.. My favorite move that I learned as a jr player was if someone was intentionally making bad calls to try to gain a competitive advantage since I was a serve and volley player.. well when the person would lob me and I would run back to retrieve the lob.. if it was too far for the tweener.. I ran in the direct path of the ball so my opponent couldnt see where the ball landed and I would ALWAYs call the ball Out until they stop hooking me with bad calls. Last case, once I was playing singles and a guy kept calling my serve out, so I asked for a line judge and suddenly my serves that he called out previously were now Aces.. He told me later, "your serves were so hard and fast I couldnt tell , so I called them out. I told him "dude, that's such a dumbass reason to call a ball out. " Even the line judge heard his explanation and said it was asinine.
