Rafa is very lucky in the early parts of draw this year when he really needed easy opponents early to find his rhythm.

Round 1 --- opponent ranked 296
Round 2 --- opponent ranked 157
Round 3 --- opponent ranked 124

The chances of this happening to a player is very less.

So, Rafa gets a mystery opponent in the 3rd round (just like Roger). His opponent is
Andrey Kuznetsov currently ranked 120. These two have never played each other.
He is 24 years old.

Andrey is from Russia and ranked outside 100 and has no prayer. So I expect Rafa to
be relegated to Suzanne on Saturday. They will probably schedule Novak vs. Kokki and
Andy vs. Kyrgios on Philippe for Saturday.

Has anyone seen Andrey play before? What is his style (grinder, aggressor, counterpuncher etc)?

His bio says his favorite shot is "between his legs" :eyepop:lolz:

A trade-off for those who complained he was not seeded higher.

It looks like once Tennis Channel takes over at 10 a.m. ESPN3 is allowed to show only matches on court 7. I am just guessing this based on the pattern in the last few days. Can someone confirm this.

Can't confirm GSaM, but it is the same thought I've had. This morning Tommy Robredo was rubbing his eyes and then the ESPN feed just shut down, telling me the match was over.

At the same time Tennis Channel is launching "Plus" at $80.00/year or $12.00/month.

:dodgy:

Edit:

We are correct.

that'll be some match between him and Borna

That will be a tight match in which the winner would have spent lot of emotional (not to mention physical) energy that they would have nothing left to trouble Rafa in R4.

Yep, but Almagro who is surprisedly 154 due to be out of the court for awhile due to his surgery is better and more dangerous player than Sousa, Muller and Granollers though they are ranking between 40 and 50 something

Almagro is only dangerous to himself! He has one of the best one-handed backhands out there and it's totally wasted on him! He's just like his compatriot, Ferrer who are good at what they do, seldom lose to inferior players, but just don't have that extra weapon to make an impression on the top echelon! Murray's only a guest for now and is nowhere near as accomplished as the other 3! Nole eats Al's lunch and feeds off all that mindless aggression; so until he get's some kind of extra coaching, he'll continue to be just an "also-ran" and not much else! :cover :nono :dodgy:

I agree with some of the things you have said but Nico is still better player and more dangerous than Sousa, Mayer and Granollers

He will hit the wall in the QF though.

Sock beats Nadal in the 4th round.

Perfect.

I think I would prefer to see Sock face Nadal than Coric in terms of entertainment. Coric is a bit too much of a pusher at this stage, might improve later though.
