MS could win the tournament. She always has good luck when she is close to Serena in the draw.

I don't see her winning it. Too many minefields left for her. Sloane, Mugu, Halep, Angie could all beat her

In other news, Angie is smoking Garcia out there... I thought Garcia would win this... Long way to go and the crowd obviously backing Caroline big time.

Angie is trying to make a comeback to GS winning form. I've noticed when Serena is in the draw, some top players really bring it.

Unfortunately BB.. Yes this is true.. Serena has been laboring with a pectoral muscle injury. she says she cant serve..Serena said she wanted to play doubles to try some additional taping but it didnt help

That’s frustrating to hear about Serena. I liked the direction her game was going. I hope it doesn’t keep her out of Wimbledon.

Well Halep’s chances are better in a SF than they are in a final. Girl really chokes at that stage.

Agreed..i just would not bet a nickle on her. That’s why i have so much respect for Wozy, she smelled fear and took advantage of that opportunity. Its not Cahill faculty, its has to come from deep inside Simona..Do not get me wrong, i like Halep’s game.

I am hoping thatHalep will finally win here, she has lost some heartbreaking finals and she deserves a win..
I think we all want that, but it really depends on who's in the final. She needs someone who is a worse choker than her. Of all the people left, I don't know who that would apply to. Maybe Keys or Putintseva.

Serena withdraws because of an arm injury...smart move ..

Now Maria can write another book explaining how Serena got chickened the moment she saw whom she has to play and withdrew from the match even before the first ball was struck. :lol6:

Serena - Press Conference Transcript regarding the injury:

Q: Can you just confirm what the issue is that forced you to withdraw?

Yeah, I have unfortunately been having some issues with my PEC - my PEC muscle and unfortunately, it's been getting worse to a point where right now I can't actually serve.

So, it's kind of hard to play when I can't physically serve.

Q. Did it start before coming here and just got progressively worse? or was it as you were playing because I know that you were doing doubles instead of practicing?

Yes, it didn't start before I got here. The first time I felt it was against Görges in my in my last match. That's when I started to feel it and I was like... Oh my, it was really painful and I didn't know what it was... and so in my doubles yesterday I tried a lot of different tapings and I tried lots of different types of support to see how it would feel under match circumstance and it didn't really get a lot better.

Q. Do you have any idea when you will be able to train again and and do you think you should be OK for Wimbledon?

So I'm going to get an MRI tomorrow. I'm going to stay here and see some of the doctors here and see as many specialists as I can and I won't know that until I get those results.
