What a mad and annoying obsession you have with Nadal, you really need help!
like I said Federer is alright with me but some of his fans posts like some crazed idiots

Crazed idiots? Again, same response as I said to Carol and typed above but I'll say it again. Yes, he's playing much better than he has in 2 years but he still hasn't even won a set against Novak since RG 2014. What exactly makes me a crazed idiot for telling you the truth/facts? Not my fault Nadal can't beat Djokovic so it'd be nice if yourself and Carol didn't take it out on posters here 'cos you can't bear that Djokovic keeps beating him.

Relax dude, it wasn't an attack but an observation, at this point, let's this be settled on the clay courts of Roland Garrios not this board, comprende mi amigo:clap

No worries. Yeah, looking forward to the tennis. No Federer present so no idea which crazed idiot camp I'll support :p

Here are the prediction by experts at ESPN . Of the 11 experts, 8 picked Novak to win and 3 picked Murray to win (are we missing anything here? :snicker)

9 of them picked Serena and 2 of them picked Simona to win on the women's side.

Here are the latest odds after the market had time to digest the draw. Murray has vaulted to second position.

1. Novak --- 10/11
2. Andy --- 17/4
3. Rafa ---- 11/2
4. Stan --- 14
5. Kei ---- 25
6. Thiem --- 50
7. Kyrgios --- 100
8. Tsonga, Berdych, Raonic --- 150
9. Ferrer --- 200
10. Goffin, Gasquet --- 250

In terms of percentages it works out to approximately Novak 52%, Andy 19%, Rafa 15%, Stan 7%, Kei 4%, Thiem 2% and Kyrgios 1% (all others negligible amount).

As was the case throughout, Novak's chances are higher than the rest of the field put together.

I can buy those odds. I guess Andy Murray is ahead of Rafa because he doesn't have to face Djokovic before the final because I am not sure I would place him before Rafa otherwise.

Calling someone a "crazed idiot" sure sounds like an attack and not an observation. Plus, you mentioned "Federer fans" plural when Front is the only one who goes back and forth with the Nadalites on a regular basis. I'm wondering who these so-called other "crazed idiot" Federer fans are, in your estimation.

Did one of the ESPN experts pick Stan last year

Also Murray winning Rome has something to do with it. Anyways, this is really novelty, I have never seen Rafa placed third in any betting odds on clay.

Murray won Rome due to Novak having to go through two tough matches with Rafa and the Samurai. I think his odds are higher due to the same set of variables; they think he will be the fresher of the three of them for the final. Hoping the ugly git gets knocked out early!

Well that's one way for a fave to win since you have no faith in them to win legitimately! :nono  :dodgy: :p

Being honest I think RG is wide open this year,Murray has as good chance as Nole Nadal & Stan.Kel I feel is not strong enough with his shots.Whoever wins good luck to him.

Stan is under the radar and there is not much talk about him. I took a closer inspection of his draw and he should have a fairly easy time reaching the semifinal (assuming he shows up with body and mind for every match).

Bad weather is an equalizer, meaning it hurts the better player. This actually makes the tourney a bit more unpredictable (or exciting).

Well, the wet clay certainly doesn't do anything to help a lot of players, but I think the more damaging aspect might be the start/stop pattern of rain delays especially for players that need to get a feel for rhythm. I think if you are a patient top player you will be fine. This will be key for players like Stan or say Serena to not pull the trigger too quickly.

Murray won Rome due to outplaying Novak

Fixed

Seriously though, can't we ever give players credit for beating our favorites? And last time I checked, Novak didn't get worn out by playing a couple best of threes...to be honest, he hasn't looked utterly dominant since Miami. He might be reverting to 2012-2014 Novak, which would still make him better than anyone else, just by not as massive a margin.

I agree El Dude! On the other hand, if Djokovic won, they would have crucify Murray and say Murray is a choker and he should've take advantage of the situation.

Question,Djokovic was a huge favorite in the final vs Stan last year, Did Stan win because he was playing fantastic or was it because Novak had a "bad" day as you and some of the others typically say when he looses

It was mostly Stan having a fantastic day.

Partly the hill Novak had to climb to get to the final. While he beat Rafa handily, that was an emotional hurdle. Then he had Andy done and dusted only to allow him back into the match which took it into a second day. I don't think it had him physically jagged, but mentally he was not sharp.

Partly it was strategy. Novak tried to keep the ball in play more than going for his shots. Normally that would work on Stan, but not that day. Becker called it 'too passive play'.

Now, had Novak arrived (mentally) fresh for the final and gone for all his shots rather than keeping the ball in play, Stan may have still won, but it would have been a better match.

We already went through this but how can one go for his shots when Stan consecutively hit the lines in the rallies? If he didn't hit a winner, then he hit it hard and deep down the middle so it's difficult to redirect.

Novak won the first set remember? He could have upped his game and gone for more of his shots. Instead he kept the ball in play, willing to wait for Stan to make a mistake. It didn't happen that day. He gave up ground before Stan started taking it; then it was too late to take it back. Pizza face was painting the lines by that time and it was done and dusted.
