Um...I bet we could come up with a pretty long list, actually, even if you just narrowed it back down to tennis. Fed is not my favorite, clearly, but he is wildly popular in our sport. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but you might want to note that it IS just your opinion, given that there is lots of evidence to the contrary, in terms of general consensus.

I can't. Federer/Armstrong is the only athlete I've ever disliked 100%.

Oh yes, Federer was a bandwagoners dream. WAS being the operative word :laydownlaughing

I'll laugh my ass off if Fed gets his form back for indoor season and dishes out another lopsided win against Nadal at the WTF, 'cos hey, he's old and years past his prime and your guy is the undisputed king who is going for global domination as you say.

Nadal has already said he doesn't consider Indoor Tennis to be real tennis.

He never ever said that. Stop making bullshit up to support your nonsense.

You don't seem to follow tennis-

About Rosol, he says : "Rosol ? Ce n'était pas un match. Ce jour-là, je n'ai pas joué un match de tennis (référence aux conditions indoor)"

--> "Rosol? That wasnt even a tennis match. That day, I didnt play a tennis match (cause indoor conditions)"

If you followed tennis, I wouldn't have to keep quoting sources. I read so many of these sources a year ago.

Unlucky for you, French is my first language, and there is NOTHING in that interview that comes close to Nadal saying what you claim. In fact, he didn't even bring up Indoor tennis. What's in between parenthesis is in reference to the roof closing. Not indoor tennis in general. And he's talking about WImbledon. Not hard court indoor tournaments. Most importantly, the mere fact that it's between parenthesis means Nadal didn't say it, this was added by the editor to explain. He just said "I didn't play a real tennis match" which sounds idiotic, by the way.

Are you trolling or what?

PS: I bet Nadal was referencing his knee, not the indoor conditions when saying that.

^ I completely disagree with your assessment of what Rafa meant by that quote. The parenthetical, ("referencing indoor conditions") was completely editorial, on the part of the writer, and I think Rafa meant his knees.

The full quote:

Rosol ?

My translation: Rosol? That wasn't a match. That day, I couldn't play a tennis match, (referring to the indoor conditions.) Right now, I'm still not able to go on court, I haven't been able to pick up a racquet, but I work hard every day.

As you see, what follows up from Rafa is that it was about his knees, not about the fact that the roof closed. He said nothing about that.

I would like to know the general consensus on the difference between a "troll" and a member with opinions that run counter to conventional thought.

You may disagree with the editor's interpretation of Nadal's comments, and that's your prerogative, but there is no doubt what Nadal thinks of the type of tennis Rosol played - reliant on big serving and short points - and the type of tennis Sampras and Goran played too-

“Personally, to watch a Pete Sampras versus Goran Ivanisevic match, or one between those kind of players, is not enjoyable,”

“It’s not really tennis, it is a few swings of the racquet. It was less eye-catching than what we do now. Everyone enjoys the tennis we play much more. I am not saying we are playing better tennis, just more enjoyable tennis. For me, in the past it was just serve, serve, serve.”

I have already told him to stop with the excessive blind worship and boundless irrational exuberance.

he does not appear to be mean spirited. evidently he is just very passionate about his player.

now lets see if he takes that advice.

I wonder what Federer is doing differently now compared to late 2011. Federer won 26 matches in a row from September2011-January2012 (Nadal broke that streak, at the AO).

It's called "getting old!" I'm as much a Fed fan as anyone, but he can't last forever! He very well may win another major, but that run that took back to #1 isn't happening again! It's all downhill for him now; sorry! That's just the way it is; and will continue to be for athletes no matter how well they take care of themselves!

Believe me, I'm as happy as anyone. I don't know if there has ever been a less likeable athlete than Federer in history.

I'm no Federer fan but he is one of the most respected athletes in world sport. Period.

You embarrass yourself by moving your own argument, which was about Nadal and indoor tennis. And you embarrass Nadal fans by implying that Nadal is as ungracious as you claim about guys who beat him and the type of tennis they play. I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make, anymore, but cherry-picking quotes doesn't express the view of the man, or how he plays his tennis. I'd think an actual fan would understand that better.

Nadal is allowed to have an opinion on the other types of players, just as Federer is allowed to say this-
"On clay you don't need a volley or a serve. You just need legs, an incredible forehand and backhand, and to run after every ball. I'm not trying to take anything from Rafa: He has been successful in other surfaces as well. But on clay you can get away, you can be competitive even with a very incomplete game. I'm not saying it's so simple, but it's too easy."
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1147841-rafael-nadals-clay-court-cred-hard-work-or-talent-which-is-more-important
Of course, if Nadal and Federer actually posted here, they'd be in a lot of trouble for expressing their opinions (because we have 5 or so bad apples here who crucify others for having an opinion, just like on every other tennis forum). Its come to the point where I know it would be unwise to post my prediction of Nadal's 2014, on a thread called "Predictions for Nadal: 2014". Whereas on other threads I've seen people predict Federer to win more slam titles. I had no problem with that.....no argument from me.

So now Indoor tennis is not real tennis, big serving and volleying is not real tennis, and grass court tennis is not real tennis (since it allows such tactics)? Please, stop.

I want a list of action agenda items for roger.

All Roger needs to do is take a good 2-3 steps back on return and dig in mentally. The new racquet could help marginally to get more power and possibly more bite on his slice which would be very helpful at this point. I personally would like to see Annacone go and have him get some new blood in there.

None of this will make him on par with the other 3 but he could still be in the mix. Roger isn't as bad as he has played this year, in fact Roger at age 36-37 likely isn't as bad as what we've seen this year. Getting the fire back and having a point to prove is the only way he will truly start playing well again.

You can quote them all you want. The problem is you're flat out lying (by saying Nadal said "so and so" despite the fact that this is merely your interpretation of the actual quote) or just misinterpreting their posts.
