Cuevas and Delbonis match interrupted, another day playing on a puddle. The unorthodox game of Dolgo is going to be even more crazy

Busy day, couldn't even check the scores, now I am at the airport, which is closed to fligths given that we just had a heavy downpour here. I guess it must be raining at the tournament location too (not too far away from Santos Dumont airport). Hope it stops, so the matches can go on (and I can get my flight).

Have a safe trip mrzz.

The action started in Rio, Cuevas and Delbonis are at 6:4 4:5 with Cuevas serving. Hopefully no more interruptions.

Wow it is 10:22pm in Rio, Ferrer and Dom are on court right now, didn't even start their warm-up.

Zut alors! Was looking forward to that match up.

Me too and if fully healthy and in form he could have ripped him a new one! For now it looks likely he'll face Ferrer next. Pffff. At least Ferrer won't roll over for him as much as Almagro though. He was embarrassingly bad last night.

You seem that you are not happy saying the same on TennisFrontier, you need to came here with the same crap, what a shame, I though this blog (it doesn't matter who is our fav) could be more peaceful and with better energy but......:(

The same crap? I simply don't enjoy watching guys who don't try hard enough like Almagro. If you have a problem with that then you shouldn't watch tennis. No one likes to watch boring one sided matches.

I think it is a sign of being consistent in one's posting. You can hardly be expected to post one thing on one board, and another thing on another, right?:D

Dominic is down a break already, fighting to not fall deeper in this first set.

I didn't even post the same thing. No idea what she's on about. I posted this re Dolgo's withdrawal and she came up with that gem post above.

"Sucks alright as it would've been a good match if he was healthy and now we seem likely to get Ferrer v Nadal next."

yeah, Dolgopolov is unorthodox as they come, so his matches are exciting when he plays well. I agree with that.

I am still holding a bit of hope that Dominic could turn this around.

One sided matches are good if the guy losing is losing because the opponent is hitting winners left, right and centre but I personally don't find matches where one guy is spraying errors and playing like crap and the other playing solid but not spectacular and merely winning 'cos the opponent is crap in any way enjoyable viewing. An example of a one sided match where the loser actually played well and still got destroyed was the Doha final between Nadal and Djokovic. Nadal hit very few errors, played a high quality match but still got destroyed 'cos Djokovic was incredible that day.

Yep, you are right, he is very talented but also a bubble head, on the contrary he would have beaten your beloved Roger more than one time but I don't think that you have complained about it when they have played against, or you did?.....yeah.....sure
Hey, Nadal is not playing so good but if you like it or not he is the King of clay so what is your annoyance besides your wish to see him losing against anyone?

Same here but he makes way too many errors in his matches. If he cleans his act up though he'll be a true contender. Some great returns from Ferrer tonight eventhough I'm no fan of his game. He's impressive in this match though.

They are back on serve. I really think Dominic can achieve some big results in the next few years. His head seems to be screwed on nicely.:yahoo:

I do like Ferrer as well but I'd like to see the youngster fight for every match.

He doesn't have the belief to beat either Federer or Nadal. His one win against Nadal is likely his one and only and I doubt he'll ever beat Federer but he rolls over even more for Nadal. That overhead he missed yesterday was a joke and he kept hitting into the same spot time after time last night on the match point and had the whole left of the court wide open. He's talented but an idiot also with his shot selection. I never said Nadal wasn't the king of clay even once and why exactly do you think I'm annoyed other than the reason I stated? I don't like that Almagro doesn't try hard enough. You misinterpret every post from everyone who dislikes Nadal even when they're not even talking about him. I was talking about Almagro's performance being very poor and nothing more. You should stop reading into everything incorrectly with Nadal goggles.

Excuse moi? tell me now that Nadal played very good against Verdasco but this last one played incredible that day too. Come on, they look to play incredible when the opponent plays awful stating with the serve, but I see that you only see that on Almagro......
