court was totally underwater on Wednesday, surreal scenes. have to start early doors today and hope for short matches and zero rain/

anyone ever seen a tourney tennis court underwater before ??..not me. might as well move some seals in.

Young Moneiro gave it all he had, but Cuevas was the steadier of the two. Considering this is his 1st ATP tournament, I think he should be proud of himself for what he showed. Nice game for clay.

Little story here: Just after I wrote the last message, I saw on TV a lot of vacant seats (for the Monteiro Cuevas match which was about to begin), and I thought "what the hell".... from Copacabana, where I am, to the tournament place in Jockey Club it is just 6 Km's. Jumped in a taxi and went there. The driver left me on the wrong side of it, I had to go all around the horse race track, to find out that the tickets box was close to where I left the taxi. All the way back, but it was already closed. Nice bus trip back to the hotel, empty handed...

Tomorrow at least I can keep you posted about the weather.

Ha...just like me and Fenway Park in Boston, since I was already there I thought I might check the famous arena. But when we got there, people were piling up as there was a game to be played in about an hour. So we had to forget about taking a tour of it. It was still worth going there, though.

Busy day, couldn't even check the scores, now I am at the airport, which is closed to fligths given that we just had a heavy downpour here. I guess it must be raining at the tournament location too (not too far away from Santos Dumont airport). Hope it stops, so the matches can go on (and I can get my flight).
