Daniel Nestor says the empire made some ridiculous calls against them against Nadal & Lopez.
Disgusting!
The empire made a very bad call against Rafa playing vs Simon and he even didn't complain doing a great point after that. Nestor and his partner could have done the same

Of course, you can always come up with some explanation, what else is new?

Monfils has to beat Nishikori and Murray to medal. If he plays to win, it is possible. The new coach might finally be getting through to him. A miracle.

Potro has to get through Bautista and Nadal to medal. If he plays like he did in round one, he will win gold. If not, he will not medal because on these slow courts, Nadal will be too tough. The FH to BH exchanges will be hard to watch.

In your opinion, it is OK to have bad calls. Very nice, what can I say.

Helios, Are you Canadian

He is Novak's fan who didn't complained when Rafa had a clear and real bad call playing vs Simon and 'that one" in doubles wasn't even clear, only the desperate Canadian saw it :cover

What an incredible horrible line up for a qtr, Steve Johnson vs Murray. I don't see how Johnson was ranked higher than Dyjr or Harrison..American tennis sucks

I really think the American college tennis system is to blame for that. Instead of playing against the best competition in the world for 4 years, Johnson was the big fish in a small pond playing NCAA tennis. I think Querrey and Isner also suffered (well, their tennis careers did) from college tennis. I have hope for Fritz and Tiafoe, but we'll see how they turn out.

No..tennis isn't attractive to the elite athletes in the US. Can you imagine if lebron, Westbrook or Iverson played tennis.. It would be similar to putting out talents like Monfils but with a higher mental focus

Murray is down a break to this slug in the 2nd set.. Novak would double bagel this one dimensional player in less than an hour

You're right, that is probably the primary reason, but I still think that going straight onto the pro tour would have improved the play & careers of the guys I listed above. The best and easiest way to get better at any sport is to play with people who are just a bit better than you, and those guys were the best players in almost all of their matches from 18 to 22 years old- pretty formative years.

Guys like Isner it help to go to college to work on their game instead of getting beaten to a pulp by the likes of Federer, Nadal and Agassi

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. My point being that between 18-22 they wouldn't have been playing Federer, Nadal and Agassi, but rather guys ranked 50-100 in the world who could still beat them but teach them how to improve. You learn way more from losses than wins, and in college they won too much to get motivated to learn. Just my opinion :D

Nah..if you ever win a round or two then you face the big boys of tennis ..true not day in day out but you get beaten like a pulp..you really can't survive on the tour by playing just challenger tournaments..
