On the flip-side, Rafa fans need to be chill. Lacatch is not trolling. I mean, you could have at least Googled before calling him a troll.

On the flip-side, it would have taken Lacatch literally a few seconds to have provided a link to the source when creating the OP.

We've both been around discussion forums long enough to know there have been countless times when users drop in, post an "I read somewhere that ..." message, without citing a source, which is eventually determined to be made up/gossip. Perhaps I'm too cynical, but my immediate response upon seeing one of these is to question its validity.

And I don't think it's asking too much of someone who has already found this information elsewhere, then felt so compelled to share it that they came here and created a new thread, to have taken a few seconds and included a link to the source.

Pretty sure it was Pushy who went to defcon4 with the troll calling, not you. It is always valid to ask posters to source the information.

Asking for a source and calling him a troll are two vastly different things.

defcon 4 ?..surely you meant defcon 1.

defcon 5 is the relaxed era of potential nuclear war..no worries everyone, please continue doing everyday daily stuff..

gradually cranking up the alarm and panic through defcon 4,defcon 3, and defcon 2 before its defcon 1 time and global thermonuclear war is likely gonna happen any minute now.

so start screaming.

^ Yup. I think most people would like outside agencies and preferably WADA to do the testing. I wonder if it'll ever happen though.

That's great. Have a look at my post on the Cilic thread if you get time and let me know if you're in agreement there too.

But because we finally agree here, you get a complimentary "like" (they go cheaply with me :p ) and a :hug

Wow you gave Front a hug? You should advise AP on how to do the same. ;) I thought those are just for girls:snigger
Or wait was it a smooch for girls?:lolz:

He is special, alright.;)

I honestly think that he doesn't even read some of the posts that he clicks "like" for, just does it automatically.:laydownlaughing

Yes, thank you, Nehmeth, that was my whole point. I'm aware who used the "T" word.

I personally don't care how much any player complains. I mean, they're entitled to critique as much as they want. Yeah, this may be a simpleminded way of looking at it, but that's what I honestly believe.

It's not simpleminded; it's open-minded. And it's why we need guys like you around here.

So don't pull that trigger! No matter how traumatic it was filming Apocalypse Now, it's not worth it! ;)

Yes, thank you, Nehmeth, that was my whole point.

But that whole point is not one anyone disagreed with or even brought up, so I don't understand why it needed clarification.

I guess I wasn't clear: I was simply trying to respond to your comment "you could have at least Googled" (and I realize "you" was directed at AP) from the perspective of it would have been helpful if Lacatch had cited a source her/himself, instead of putting the burden on the reader to Google it.

Perhaps that will make my original post more clear:

I think it's much more of an issue to not accuse people of trolling rather than being too lazy to check (a) tennis.com or (b) google. If someone doesn't provide a link that's the first thing I look for and in that order actually, tennis.com (crap as they are with editing) first and then google.

But that's just it: if the person who was so interested and so motivated in sharing this -- to the point where he even felt it deserved its own thread -- had taken the few seconds to include a link in their OP, the trolling comments would never have been posted in the first place.

Well the stupid trolling comment was totally unnecessary imo and only shows the laziness of people these days. I agree, better to link a source but still it's not hard to check tennis.com either without resorting to stupid name calling like a 5 year old.

Being the OP, all I can articulate is: Wow! I had no idea my initial casual comment could provoke such a firestorm. What got lost in the translation was : 1)It wasn't just about the Ball complaint in Beijing--anyone who follows Rafa KNOWS that he tends to complain the most --by far--- of any top player--on a variety of topics. and 2)The real interesting thing to me is the theory that having to overcome obstacles--bad balls, season too long, too many hard court events--to name a few of Rafa's favorites---is consistent with his happiness in the #2 chaser role. So the idea is that the complaining and being the chaser are all part of the same mentality, which has obviously served Rafa well.

^ It would have helped if: 1) you had initially taken the time to write what you just wrote, and 2) included a link to the source in your OP.
