Terrible, what this guy went through with injuries it's beyond belief. Someone wrote it happened in the 8th game of the 2nd set when he approached a net or something. I watched a match, but with one eye, so I missed that moment.

Actually I have met Juan at Sydney tournament,he is a lovely young man, after he won the USO I really thought he could go on to much bigger things in his career, then injury after injury,he said he thought of retiring at one stage, who would have blamed him.He has been fighting off having knee surgery,it does not look good at the moment .

Too bad. With this kind of injuries, he is unlikely to be a major force to reckon with at Wimbledon.

I think you wrote on some thread that you've met other players, think it was Nalbandian. I guess you met more of them?

I've read that after last wrist injury Delpo had he was thinking of quitting. He was out of action for 2 years and said he was very depressed, so I was so happy to see him back to the top. Always liked him a lot. As I said, his career without injuries would probably have a much different and more successful path.

What a bad luck but unfortunately grass is the worst surface for the knees because besides others reasons it's very easy to slide

Thanks for providing that, though it's hard to watch. Yes, easy to slip on grass, and it is hard on the knees, because you need to get low, due to the low and odd bounces.

I read that Del Potro even considered himself "retired" for a time. Then he decided to give it another go. The man cannot catch a break. I think we all agree that he was a looming danger when he first got injured...right after the USO win in 2009. He was considered the "5th Beatle" even when he was absent. I don't like his chances for Wimbledon. Maybe he should shut it down and rest up for the US HC Swing.

Tomorrow Andy plays his first match (though doubles) since AO. Unfortunately for him and Deliciano, they have drawn the #1 seed in their opening match.

So much about Cilic being the 4 potential favorite at Wimbledon.
Down he goes in straight sets to little Diego.

Exactly. Watched that match a bit. When I saw him breaking back to 4:4 in the first only to get broken in the next game 2nd time by shortman on grass, I quit watching as I felt what will be the match outcome.

Meanwhile Tsitsipas just needed 7 match points to get the win, but it was on Edmund serve so that explains.

One of the winners from last week, Mannarino withdrew.
He was supposed to play Kyrgios who now plays LL Carballes-Baena
