Hurray! That was fun. Lopez just kept shrugging his shoulders at the crowd and his box...like "I don't believe it."

I just heard Feli's interview with Sue Barker after winning singles. She said she thought he might be the first tournament director to win a pretty important (or any?) ATP title. I wonder.

Off the top of my head right away I can say the answer to that is no. 2 words. Tommy Haas.

which tournament did Tommy win when he was a tournament director? I recall him beating Roger at Halle in the early rounds one year, but I'm not sure he went on to win the whole thing

That was a good try by Front, but I looked it up. Tommy Haas won his last 2 titles in 2013, and became tournament director of IW in 2016. I'd be amazed if there's another one who was an active tournament director. Soderling is tournament director in Sweden, but hasn't played since becoming one. Oh, wait...what about Ferrer? He had a tournament in Valencia. I'll look him up.

EDIT: No, I can't find anything other than that Ferrer had won Valencia a lot. Also, I just reread Front's post. He says no. I think he used Haas as an example of "no." But it was confusing.

It took 2 seconds to find out Haas beat Roger in the final of 2012! Lazy aren't we? :nono:  :banghead: :cuckoo:   :ptennis:
Well hang on a minute there web-master. The critical point is whether Haas was a tournament director at that time or not. So.... step back please ;)
