I watched those highlights. Both players had lots of spectacular points .It had to be a high quality encounter.

It surely was. This kind of long highlights (more than 10 minutes) in the end have a lot of points, some games are almost in full. In this particular case I guess it accounts for 30% at the very least of the points played in the match. Only if all the rest was absolute crap (I highly doubt it) the match was not extreme high quality.

I remember once Fucs played against Fed in a GS and punched way higher than his stature, even though he lost eventually.
I like this type of guys who at least give a fight to the big guys instead of assuming defeat before even entering the court.

Tennis Channel wasn't showing the match (they're trying to get us to pony up for their Prime channel, I guess...bastards,) but followed the scores. Fucs stayed close in the 2nd, too, and Djokovic only broke him at the last, but then ran away with the 3rd. Good effort, though.

@mrzz is the lead on Jarry, but I'm on the bandwagon. Keeping an eye. Interesting that Berdy beat Verdasco. I thought that was a toss-up.

Well it went to 7-5 in 3rd and so sort of toss up.
Yes, that's what I meant. I really thought it could have gone either way, even before it started. Both a bit late career and unpredictable at this point.

Yes, I quite like Jarry, but he is still a bit green. Anyway, no shame in losing to Wawrinka when he is playing well, and it really seems he is. Let's see how he (Jarry) lives life inside top 50...

Basilashvili became lately a tough customer. He is trending up. So I am not surprised at all, I knew he will challenge Novak.

I was wondering what was going on! Been in the hospital tending 81 yo mom for the last few days so haven't seen or heard anything all wk.! Why in the world is Nole dropping these sets? I also see Nadal dropped out of Brisbane; SHOCKING! Is he going t/b ready for AO?

Then he got ousted by RBA. I only watched the highlights, but Stan's timing seemed off. He likely has some match play needed to get him to top drawer. RBA was very good, and much sharper, so good win for him.

This does not bode well for the AO.
