The way it should be that he's allowed play as anyone should regardless of vaccination status which makes no difference since Omicron. Just test them all! Problem solved and pointless discrimination solved. This part, however, is more garbage and shows that money is the only thing at the root of all this.

"We will cancel all coronavirus tests on fully vaccinated individuals arriving in England from February 11 onwards."

As with so many other countries, including Ireland where I live, they just don't get it. Vaccinated people should not be just allowed willingly spread the virus with no testing. Clearly countries employing this approach are NOT "following the science", they are merely penalizing the unvaccinated into having to pay for quite expensive PCR tests which frankly everyone should be made to take if this was truly about stopping the spread of the virus, which it's not. They will continue to coerce in the hope these people finally cave in and get vaccinated thereby making these countries' governments more money and paying for the leftover vaccines they're trying to get rid of. I'm talking about flights here since they thankfully (for now anyway) got rid of the useless covid passes here fully acknowledging Omicron is so weak they're no longer viable. If this nonsense about making unvaxxed being made to get expensive PCR tests continues for much longer, it's just a joke. Treat everyone equally since the vaccines don't stop transmission. One of the biggest crimes of the decade.

I don't see how lack of testing proves that money is at the bottom of it. Isn't testing big business these days, too? Plus, you can and should test more often. Not testing is dumb.

I can't see how not testing doesn't prove it's about anything but money tbh. Why turn a blind eye to the vaxxed who are actually spreading it just as much if not more given so many unvaxxed will have natural immunity by now? Treating people who may not have covid as second class citizens like lepers and making only them take tests, what's the sense in that when the vaxxed are carrying this as much ? I remain convinced it's about nothing but money. PCR tests are making an absolute fortune for the economy. The countries who bought up the biggest supplies are left with these useless vaccines they want to get rid of. Yes, useless. The WHO admitted these vaccines are not doing much for Omicron as anyone can see and so did Pfizer. Why else would they be trying to make even more money with a variant specific vaccine for Omicron ? Omicon more like. A vaccine made for the original Wuhan strain is obviously enough not going to do much for a variant 2 years down the line. Hardly anyone is dying from Omicron (I realize in the US you have large numbers of deaths reported recently but these are still mostly from delta and it's the same globally and neither are they because of covid. A person with stage 4 cancer did not die of a runny nose they caught in hospital but it will be shamefully recorded as a covid death if they caught Omicron there) and everyone is transmitting it equally regardless of vaxxed status so to give people who are taking a vaccine that does nothing to prevent transmission preferential treatment is money based. Punishing the ones going against the narrative and for being outliers. You don't follow the crowd and take these vaccines, we make you pay in other ways. They're getting paid to inject people with the vaccines and if they refuse then they stand to make more money through PCR tests forever more. Can't be any other common sense reason.

Not testing is definitely dumb and they should make PCR tests free and test everyone. They won't though because this isn't about health and never was.

another twist to the saga:

Novak Djokovic: Doubts over timing of Covid test -

If there has been deception from ND and his camp , I reckon he deserves to be banned from the GS for the entire year, whether or not he gets vaccinated !

Not only that, but it would also be a criminal offense.

Three year ban from the ATP if proven that he tampered with the test. No? I wonder whose positive result it was that he claimed as his. I think he’s in deep trouble.

It will be interesting to see if tennis investigates this, or the Australian government, because I don't think the court of the press has any sway. They could all stay away from it, or drag it out so long that it doesn't matter. ATP has made some noise that they won't tolerate fake vaccination information. But they haven't taken a specific stand, that I know of. AND, the ATP doesn't govern the Majors...the ITF does. Watch them all avoid it until there is nothing left but the stink.

I dont think the Australian government will investigate this new allegation, they probably feel they have done their job.Still I feel the ATP should make a strong stance against fake vaccination information.,it not it has to be up to the ITF to take a strong stance.BTW fake vaccination passports are incurring more and more,it needs to be stamped out.

Why can't the government of Serbia investigate? I thought the Prime Minister Serbia in particular, she was not impressed or brainwashed, by Djokovic's god-like status in that country.

Interesting that McEnroe has weighed in :

John McEnroe calls for probe into positive Covid test at centre of Novak Djokovic deportation row:

An investigation has revealed the serial number on Djokovic's test on December 16 appears out of sequence with sample of tests from Serbia

John McEnroe has called for an investigation into the positive coronavirus test at the centre of the Novak Djokovic deportation furore after further doubts emerged over the timing of it.

Research conducted earlier this month by a German group called Zerforschung, which partnered with Der Spiegel, flagged up a discrepancy between the dates and serial numbers on paperwork submitted by Djokovic’s lawyers during his failed legal battle to avoid being thrown out of Australia.

The BBC said on Friday it had obtained evidence that appeared to show the serial number on the document stating Djokovic tested positive on December 16 was out of sequence with a sample of tests from Serbia over the same period.

It also found that serial number fell between those obtained from tests carried out between December 25 and 28.

The German investigation earlier identified a further discrepancy with the official online record of Djokovic’s test, a timestamp for which indicating the corresponding web page may not have been created until December 26.

Djokovic, who has admitted breaking quarantine rules by carrying out an interview with a journalist on December 18, had left Serbia for Spain shortly after Christmas before flying to Australia via Dubai.

Representatives of Djokovic and the Institute of Public Health of Serbia have failed to respond to repeated requests for comment on the discrepancies with his test and whether they were merely glitches.

Asked whether the tennis authorities needed to get to the bottom of the matter, McEnroe said: “In short, yes. I’d like to know.

“I’ll give you an example of something I don’t understand. Novak Djokovic, to me, is an extremely smart person. If he tested positive on – what date is it? – December 15th – I’m throwing in a date – why in the hell would he do an interview with a journalist on December 16th?

“That makes absolutely no sense to me. The guy’s not stupid. He’s smart. So, already, I’m like, ‘What?!’

“I mean, he wasn’t just sitting around going, ‘I hope I get Covid so I can get an exemption’. So that wasn’t happening.”

McEnroe, a pundit for Eurosport at the Australian Open, warned that the Serbian authorities would not investigate the matter themselves amid anger in Djokovic’s homeland over his deportation.

Speaking on the day the 34-year-old was declared an honorary citizen of Budva, Montengro, in one of his first public appearances since he was thrown out of Australia, McEnroe said: “I don’t think that you’ll be getting the Serbian authorities to try to figure out a way to make Novak look bad, if that’s what anyone’s thinking. That ain’t happening.”

The International Tennis Federation and Association of Tennis Professionals did not respond to requests for comment on whether they would investigate Djokovic’s test.

OK i think you'll find their Prime Minister is a no-nonsense politician and perhaps has the authority to initiate investigation.

Near February 10, I will try to drop FOUR CORNERS program a line and see if they are able to do expose on, not only Djokovic but Tennis Australia, Vic and Federal governments handling of the whole saga. Unfortunately Four Corners are not taking requests at this time.
