If it came down to a pissing match between the government and Novak's lawyers, it appears that Novak's lawyer have won.

OK, so he really doesn't have the right qualifications for medical exemption. A women's player and an official have been deported, after being let in on the same grounds. There is a question about the paperwork for the PCR tests that he took, even if that IS what they're letting him in on, and he made a false statement on his immigration form, even though that was due to "agent error." So Australia is fine with that?

To be fair Moxie, Hawke can still technically deport Djokovic even after the draw is out, I don’t expect him to be deported though.

Oh well, I hope Tiley is gone after this year. What a circus that he has created that could have been easily avoided from the start…

That official was an umpire from what I read.

The card would have been played, if it could have, and it wasn't. The fancy lawyers won. Tiley losing his job will be cold comfort to all of the Aussies who will see this as unfair treatment, which it is. Djokovic is in under false pretenses. His exemption shouldn't have been acceptable, but the court let him off on a technicality, not the validity of his appeal for a visa. Now the rest of us schlubs in the world choke once again on the proof that things are different for the rich and famous. This couldn't have been avoided from the start. Tiley was committed to getting Djokovic in, and he did. He may lose his job, but he'll find some retainer from the Djokovic camp.

Aren't most leaders around the world? After dealing with Trump for 4 years I can't ever criticize another country's leader, even Putin! :anxious-face-with-sweat:
I am not interested in Trump etc what Tiley pulled was disgraceful.I dont want to discuss it anymore. The draw has been done.Lets move forward

Is that also within the discretion (right of power) of Minister Hawke? PCR test, paperworks, etc?
Surely it's within the purview of someone in government to determine if someone has lied on immigration forms and falsified PCR tests.
