I think he'll be allowed play regardless but Australia are Draconian beyond belief because a person who has caught covid already has much better immunity than someone vaccinated. Absolute bs if others are allowed and he's not.
Good Grief!

Judge Kelly is a stickler for the 'law' he has also intimated he will not be rushed into handing down his decision.
I did read that he was not particularly interested in the timeline for the AO draw, etc. Rightly so. It's good if he's a stickler, and seems unmoved by events and politics around him. This could work in Novak's favor, if he makes a strong case. The judge won't care if his decision is unpopular.

No, not because he's Djokovic but because scientifically he poses way less of a risk than a vaccinated person so it makes absolutely zero sense to not allow him play and the talk in the media of him endangering people is ridiculous nonsense. A vaccinated person can be either asymptomatic and transmitting covid at any stage without even knowing it or just catch it symptomatically at any stage as Nadal did, for example. If you live in a country where they use these useless and discriminatory covid certs to allow entry and sit in a pub, restaurant, café or go to a club or any other indoor venue you can be unknowingly in contact with people who have covid at any stage. Going back to Nadal, he's now the safest he can be and way safer than he was before he caught covid 'cos there's no way in hell he's catching it again for quite a while now having had it recently. A bit different with omicron of course in how it evades the vaccines much more and I've read a post on local forums where someone boosted caught covid twice within 6 weeks but this isn't the norm and maybe that person's immune system is a shambles.
Good grief! SMH2

Personally, I don't think the tournament, per se, should take a hit, but I know there will be fallout in Oz, including politically, based on what you've said, and I've read. This went beyond tennis, internationally, a long time ago. Issues of privilege, how the vaccinated are getting fed up with the unvaccinated, issues on the other side, etc. And in tennis, there will a lot to be discussed about all of this, going forward, too.
The tournament is to blame if they misinformed the players regarding the government stance. This is the 2nd year in a row where they messed up in the communications department. Its because of their mistake that 2 players are locked up in a detention facility. No matter whom you support, no one will want wish this to happen to anybody. Those who do are insensitive people

They should take a hit and Craig Tiley should resign. TA will also take the hit because, in politics, the smallest fish is always the bait. TA is definitely the smallest among themselves, the state and the federal government. All 3 are to blame here

Personally, I still believe this was deliberately blown up by the federal government to gain political points

Well, if they don't allow the world number 1 to play just a make a point and let numerous nobodies play then I think people should boycott the AO 'cos that would be bs. Honestly, he made this hard on himself and created way too much negativity by not making it known he had caught covid within the past 6 months as that changes everything. Either his PR team are crap or he's a dope if he came up with hiding that himself till recently. I've seen people even post that Australia should no longer be allowed to host this slam over this mess.
Good freakin Grief!

Okay, again this is plain BS.

The requirements were spelled out and it included being able to play with a medical exemption. Tennis Australia were just wrong

Also remember, in his mind, he was following the law.

It is also strange that till Wednesday, the federal government did not follow their law. They allowed 2 other people to get in the country with the exact same documents
This is where it all gets ugly. IF TA was wrong, and since one or two people slipped in under the radar at the border. BUT. However much there is a misunderstanding between the Fed and the state of Victoria/TA, I still say the onus is on the traveler to be 100% buttoned up. Unlike most of us schlubs, Novak has a team to take care of these things. In my business, you imagine every potential pitfall, and prevent for it. If I had lawyer(s) on retainer, as Djokovic must have, I'd be pissed off. Yes, we think that Djokovic was following the law, as he understood it, but, come on...it's not his job to understand it. It's that of his lawyer. The ball was dropped somewhere on his side, too. No one gets to stand at the border and say, "I was misinformed." Border guards are not there to give you a hot stone massage and commiserate with you. They are there to hold the line, and they will turn you away.

I have said this from the start a lot of this Mess Up has started with Craig Tiley.....dont worry there are plenty of people calling for his resignation.
I recalled when Craig allowed Novak to get on the plane to Melbourne I said Craig Tiley was a Wuss and you quickly slapped my hand like "tough on AP only big Sis Moxie does quite often" by saying he was firm. Are you changing your opinion on TA Craig?;) jajaja

Try not to make this about you, AP. Do you really remember me or Margaret being soft on the issue? Please.

Do you know what time of day it is..?
Oh I am just kidding with you. Seriously. I knew Craig was going to mess this up when he didn't put his foot down to say ney to Novak. I wouldn't be surprised if he had been lied too by Novak's team in regards to having his papers in order

It is a complete Mess.....Craig Tiley has a lot to answer since last November giving players incorrect information

Have a great time with your family, that's the real Sport of Life. As for the debacy in AO, Novak's will still be held captive unless his punkazz Pappy takes him home.
