This is where being a fancy-pants, and being at the mercy of bureaucracy clashes uncomfortably. I'm sure he's unhappy with the accommodations, but if they let him go stay at the residence with his family and team, THAT would be a travesty and preferential. He is not, by law, in Australia. He's in immigration limbo. To allow him to roam freely in Melbourne, even under guard, would be to privilege him.
I would be happy to add Novak as a known user on my Netflix account. See I have empathy for our fella tennis brethren.:)

I'm very disappointed in Nole! Just heard he's gone to court to stop his deportation! WHY?? I guess his ego's as big as Fedal's! Shocking! :pleading-face:
Why would you think he wouldn't? And why would you be disappointed in him for that? If he thinks he deserves to be a the AO, with an exemption, why wouldn't he defend that?

Contrary to his wacky Pappy who said on Tuesday that his Son is "being held captive"! The government officials said Novak Djokovic is free to leave the country anytime he chooses! Jajaja

He knows he can leave anytime, but Novak's playing Hamlet and actually dividing the country from what I'm understanding in the news! There are 2 factions in the country, the tour, & technically people around the world who follow tennis! It would probably rival giving Borg the boot in Paris 1977 due to him playing WTT! I had forgotten until recently that it wasn't on him that he didn't play the FO that season! I thought he just left for Wimbledon early to get in extra practice defending his title! Normally Bjorn had less than a week to acclimate himself to grass! Maybe Tiriac helped so his charge, Vilas could be thrown a bone by taking that FO! He only had one more chance and that was in '82 against another freakin' Swede; a very young Matts Wilander! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :fearful-face:

Brother, I'm glad to see you've discovered the rotten truth about Novak. You've ditched Roger, and now you're ditching Novak. Welcome to the club - you're free to post here now...

Probably. But I know people who have flown into other countries and had to go to a quarantine hotel paid for by the state and the accommodations aren't that nice. But I'm a bit of a hotel snob, so anything less than 4 :star: would be a dive to me. :-)2
I don't mind how many stars it has, or even how many bugs, but a nice caff next door for cakes after breakfast and a boozer down the road showing Sky Sports and I'll quarantine there, thanks!

It looks like a set up to me. Djokovic is being made an example of. More fun and games... reminds me of the movie Idiocracy.
You think he's victim of a honey trap? How do you think that played out? And who set him up?

Do not underestimate the strength and wiles of a well-paid army of lawyers.
Most definitely. However this is trying to supercede a country's mandate that is being enforced by health standards during the most delicate pandemic EVER..A tennis s tournament entrance that may potentially put in jeapordy the health of their citizens. We shall see

Most delicate pandemic EVER? Really? In which sense?

I now understand how Jim Jones got his disciples... why 1930s Germany happened and also the mass slaughter that ensued after the Russian revolution. Mass psychosis. Fascinating to watch. The Pied Piper of Hamlin clearly wasn't a fairytale.
