Tennis Channel was saying, before the ab injury, that Matteo's image was all over Turin this week, and he was rather getting mobbed everywhere he went. Sinner's not quite there yet, so your point is well-made that they lost their top guy, which has to have been a disappointment. Sinner's message to him, which Carol posted above, (which TC mis-translated as a wish for his speedy recovery,) was actually to say "Matteo - you are an Idol!" Sinner knows who the Italian #1 is, and that he's not there yet.

That foot fault call was unfortunate, but it was early enough in the TB that Medvedev shouldn't have let it bother him so much. I thought he looked to be cruising in straights.

I just saw Toegate — it’s a difficult call, even after seeing the video review. It was maybe a foot fault, but it’s not 100% clear. Nevertheless, it was very early in the tiebreak (1-1), as you pointed out; it’s not as if it was set point.
