I'm starting to think that Stefanos Tsitsipas has something to prove - that he belongs in the same breath as Medvedev and Zverev, which isn't so clear. Not only has he won far fewer big titles (2 to DM's 6 and AZ's 7), but he's fared far worse in ATP finals:

Tsitsipas 7-10
Medvedev 13-8
Zverev 17-10

With hungry younger guys on the rise--Sinner, Alcaraz, even FAA--and a solid group of second tier guys--Rublev, Hurkacz, Berretini, maybe Ruud--Tsitsipas may be in danger of being pushed out of being a perennial top 5 guy, if he doesn't take a step forward.

Here's a random question: Who will have a better career, Berretini or Hurkacz? Despite the Masters, Berretini has the edge so far, but HH not only has the Masters but is a year younger. I'd throw Rublev in and make it a trio of solid "second tier" guys who are roughly similar in level, a bit below Medvedev/Zverev/Tsitsipas, but ahead of Ruud and the rest.
Hurkacz. Berretini is too bulky - see Safin.

Berrettini "chicken legs" is doing ok but nothing extraordinary. I think Zverev has option to do much better in this tournament. Meanwhile Tsitsipas "Chispitas" says he has some discomfort in his shoulder so who knows what he is going to do.

Meddy said the court is playing fast,he complained that in Paris he thought the courts were too slow?
I read the Young Greek had elbow problems?

Medvedev is complaing too much, he always has to say something. And true, Tsitsipas has some elbow problem and not the shoulder, my bad!

No worries about The Young Greek,he stated that before the finals in Turin, might be an excuse if he does not do well :)

Tight first set between Zverev and Berrettini. Zverev was the better player, though Matteo almost snuck it out.

Matteo had 3 BPs before it went to a t/break and could not convert, good tight 1st set by both players.

Oh No Matteo has retired due to an adominal strain,he did have the physio out.
Sinner is the alternative to play,I doubt Matteo will be able to play on in the tournament.

At least it happened early enough that Sinner can actually make a move! He probably wouldn't have beaten Sascha so "no harm, no foul" yet! :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

I though it was because his shoulder but in one way it's better an abdominal strain. Anyway what a shame because he was playing really well

I got on a work call (yes, on Sunday,) and I saw Matteo had the trainer out, then I got off and it was over! Hasn't he had an ab strain before? That's too bad, in lots of ways. It was a good match for a set. And yes, I saw that MB got a few bad calls he didn't challenge.

Berrettini was completely down and crying, It's really nice to see this from both players
