Cali is a mystery, and we should just ask him. Though we have, and answers vary. He's always hated Rafa, despite claiming (recently) it's the fans that put him off. I think it's style of play. While Fed fans like to say that, we know that the Rosetta Stone on that is really that Rafa is the only one that did Roger in during his prime years. Cali has a Platonic Ideal about Talent in tennis, and it is David Nalbandian. Somehow, Rafa's style seems to insult this ideal. I don't know that this is the "reason you're inquiring," but Cali's arguments against Nadal have gotten weaker and weaker over the years, which is basically because he absolutely refuses to acknowledge that Rafa is talented as a tennis player. Even Fed fans, some of whom hate him with a white hotness, will acknowledge his talent. Not Cali, and this is where his argument gets thinner and thinner, the more Nadal accumulates big titles. So he keeps reinventing scenarios whereby Rafa wouldn't/shouldn't have won what he did. It's rather a unique posture, but that's Cali!
