Let’s hope that Federer doesn’t choke again. But so far he’s playing pretty good :good:

I haven't seen the match from earlier, but I can guess Thiem's working the system like I said; either choosing his opponent or not needing it to be 1st in his group! I don't think they're still doing it, but the WTA's YEC would have the ladies skip that rubber match if winner of the group at 2-0! I can't wait for this other match! It's gonna be featured on ESPN2.@ 3:00 pm EST!  :yesyes:

Thiem not only knew he qualified, he also knew he would be the first in the group before his Matteo's group. There is nothing that Thiem could do to "choose" his opponent in SF.

But if Nadal wins his match then Medvedev will already know that he’s eliminated before his match vs Sasha. So basically Nadal would be waiting and hoping that Medvedev will give it 110% despite being eliminated.

Typically in view of this, they schedule the matches of the last day so that every match's outcome become important. I am pretty sure that
they will put Med for the morning and Ralph for the evening match.

Well deserved. Roger rock solid on serve.
Novak looks empty, this could be over soon .

Wrong — the schedule is the reverse of your predictions.

Yes, but they actually scheduled it using that principle only. They schedule the matches in such a way that the uncertainity (and hence the interest in the last match) prolongs. There is less uncertainty if Sasha wins the match and their match is scheduled first.
