Punt on the Bears?... got to say I was tempted but bottled it and went with the Pats.

Biggest surprise to me this week was Jacksonville losing at home to the Texans. Now their season is in jeopardy. Philly losing is big too. That division is awful, someone could win it with 9-7 or worse.

Raiders trade Amari Cooper to the Cowboys for a first round pick. Can't say I'm too disappointed.

Raiders will have 5 first round draft picks in the next 2 years... they'll also have 76 mill of cap space. Clearly, this is going to be a rebuilding transitional period before the move to Vegas and given that Gruden has a ten-year contract, he doesn't need to win in a hurry. I'm wondering if McKenzie will last as GM.

This is one of those rare trades that is probably good for both teams. Oakland is in full rebuild mode aside from a fairly young and still promising QB. With Cooper's inconsistent play I'd say getting a first round pick is very good. With Dallas their receiving core is really weak so this definitely helps. And it also will help show if Dak is worthy of a large contract extension. He had a very good rookie year but has clearly regressed since then.

Do you think Mackenzie will last? His draft picks have been pretty lame other than Carr, Mack and Cooper. Although, on the plus side he has turned that front office into a professional organisation rather than the basket case outfit that was a holdover from the Al Davis era.

I think he will last at least this season. If they have another terrible year after this then he's probably gone.

Isn't next year Amari Cooper's last year of his contract? So the Cowboys are going to have to negotiate for more money IF he progresses as opposed to staying stagnant as he has the last couple of years.

The Raiders get 5 first round picks the next couple of years, Chucky better start producing with that....

I don't think anyone is safe on the team. Chucky is going to completely rebuild it and anyone of value is on the trading block. Carr is safe in the short term because of his contract but he better start showing some more over the remainder of this season and next or he'll be gone too. Grudens got a 2 and a half year rebuild period and then he needs to start delivering.

Hard to believe it but the loser of Philly-Jags is close to done for the year. I won't totally write off the loser because both divisions are weak but certainly their year is on life support.

Note that the Philly-Jags game is in London, so it's not a real home game for Jacksonville.

I'm going to try to do a better job going forward of identifying all these London games, they keep having more and more there every year.

I really don't see the point in having more than one game in London. They'd be better playing it in China or India.

Or Mexico. Beside Mexico City, they would attract huge crowds in cities such Monterrey and Guadalajara. Becaue of close access quite a few hardcore NFL fans in Mexico.

My cousins just flew up to an NFL game in the States.
