I think you mean the same here and you would agree with me that race points should not be forgotten before WTF (contrary to what GSM said) but after WTF because they should also be used to track the YE rankings not just "race process" only.

I'll be honest, I'm confused now. I long thought that YE#1 was just who ends #1 and the end of the year. Then I was told on these forums that there are two different calculations. Now it seems I was initially right all along. Wikipedia seems to confirms that YE#1 is who just ends up there.

Your statement is true. Actually, things are simple these days as Davis Cup does not award ATP points. Before it was lot more complex as DC points were tricky to calculate (with bonuses, staggering drop offs etc).

If he can suck more than Fed right now then he deserves a medal. Reminds me of the Ministry album "Psalm 69 - The way to succeed and the way to suck eggs". Sadly, the latter applies to Fed for most of the year since Rotterdam.
