I just don't like dodgy ones where there's no apparent movement issue before or after ;) And also ones that happen when the person in question is losing :D

Since no one is opening special threads for SF, I make my picks right here.

Ferrer wins one SF. Kei is fragile, Ferrer does not lose often against players ranked
below him, this is clay, this is spain, case closed.

Agut is having good year overall and this tourney is not a one off,
Agut has a two handed backhand, Agut hits flat, this is their first match and so there is
a surprise element as well and so .......... :violins::violins::violins: Agut takes one set

I feel like Ferrer is the recipient of gifts these days! The way people are playing him is embarrassing; esp. when they have him on the run! They allow him to restart the point with some floating return because they're too gutless to volley the ball! :nono :s  It's frustrating to watch; all too often!

Well done to Kei, top ten! :clap

The Chang effect. Now Chang should jump ship like Lendl and keep his rep intact... :snigger

Rafa looks so much better this tournament. Hit some great winners. RBA is another late-bloomer; he'll be going into the 20s in the rankings for the first time at age 26.

Disappointing for Daveed. He was up 5-2 and served for the set at 5-3. He drops serve and Nishi levels the set at 5-5. In the TB Nishi would win it 7-5

Hey kids,
How long do we think this match will last?

I thought Kei was down for the count at 2-5 in the first, but bravo for taking it to a tiebreak, and winning it. :clap

I'm pulling for him to win the match. It's refreshing to see a non-Top 4 guy win a tournament, and not go out early in the next one. Two clay-court finals in a row would be very impressive.

Kei's up 3-2 in the second, but I'm starting to sense he's on the verge of going on walkabout. Hope I'm wrong.

He's hurting. He had the trainer out there massaging his back on the changeover. He then proceeds to dump serve. Ferrer serving for 5-3

EDIT: Daveed gives the break right back. 4-4

Kei had MP and Daveed saves it w/ an ace. He holds on what should have been a DF, but isn't called. Kei then dumps serve and now Ferrer will serve for the 2nd set at 6-5
