Again..blah, blah, Blah are nice to have but not the Goal..RG is the only thing that matters at this point in the season. IMO

Noticed no tiebreaks in Isner v Thiem. That's another shocker today!

Going to a decider between Garin v Berrettini.....bit of a scrappy match.Berrettini's serve 10 aces and counting giving him free points at crucial times in the match.
Garin's game imploded in the decider,Berrettini too strong defeats him 57 63 60.

If Rafa loses on Chatrier this year and Novak on Laver next year, this will be the change of guard many poster here are long waiting for.
It’s coming nearer and nearer.
I've been beggin' for it for years! I lean toward Nole as The GOAT though due to a more diverse championship winning trend and H2H leads over Fedal! In '90 there was something equivalent to Black Monday where The FO lost its top 2 seeds on day one; Edberg and Becker! They lost to 2 unknowns at the time, Bruguera & Ivanisevic instead of what we'd consider the "Next Gen!" Of course they did go on to win their own majors later, but that was huge even though expectations lower for those 2 top players on their least favorite surface! It got us a better Wimbledon so it all worked out with them competing in the grass final for the 3rd straight year! Lendl had made a push to win Wimbledon by skipping the FO and going all out to win Queens over McEnroe and Becker believe it or not! The older players have to make a decision when it comes to playing on clay; to play or not to play? In '89 it hurt Edberg to make that FO final losing in 5 to Chang! He had nothing for the Wimbledon Final against Becker going down in straight sets with a BAGEL in there somewhere! END RANT! (Was on a historic roll there) :face-with-hand-over-mouth:

Your assessment that Nole is the GOAT if you are weighing H2H over Roger is all due respect a bit skewd because Roger wasn't the Rog or at the height of his prime. Go check the stats..look at Rafa's H2H vs Roger pre 2012 and look at Nole's record. remember Rafa is only 11 months older than Nole and Andy Murray.

Here we go! Well when is Rog "ROG" when he loses? I seem to remember multiple MP's being held by Fed at Wimbledon in 2019! Was he Rog then? I guess Federer is only "the man" when he wins so it's acceptable to say Rog was Rog in 2017-early '18 even though Djokovic went "walkabout" for a season and a half! Cool! Again Nadal won most of his stuff while Nole on the shelf, then that changed in mid '18 so Rog wasn't Rog anymore and Rafa wasn't Rafa! Hmmmm! Ok!

Kudos for finally admitting it. Took courage. :thumbs-up:

TBH, it was hard to watch that 3rd set. Garin completely lost it, and Berrettini show what it means to have the experience at the higher tree level. Happy for Mateo, but Garin lost a match that was in his grasp. As to Rafa, oh, well. Madrid is never great for him. I couldn't watch the match, but it sounds like Zverev did what he needed to...had a game plan, and pulled it off. Not that easy. Good for him.

People are always willing to "go there!" No one actually beats Rafa! Something has to be wrong with him; even if they have to go to the "divorce card" of his parents! It's just so insulting to his opponents which is another good reason to dislike the guy!
Oh, get over yourself. Not every Rafa fan is an excuse maker, and certainly Nadal is not. Nadal is always gracious to opponents. You dislike him because you want to, full stop.

I think Ruud has taken the Rafa's body or spirit because after he was practicing in the Rafa's Academy he is playing even better than Rafa in this tournament and I hope he can lift the Trophy!

Semis,

Theim v Zverev
Rudd v Berrettini.
Someone back in the thread was saying that the SF in the top half would be the real final. You could make that argument, but I'm not sure.

Garin imploded,it wasn't good to watch.in the 3rd set.Rafa made some unusual UFE,he looked nervous to me at times,he played well in the opening set and then lost the plot serving at 4-2 and never recovered.

This lady is 95 years old and she is starting to suffer alzheimer so she asked her family that she would love to watch a Rafa's match live before she forget tennis and him who has been so important to her. So she went and Rafa after to lose the match went to meet her, is not it wonderful action by Rafa
