Speaking of Wimbledon, notice how there are more upsets at Wimbledon than at other slams? Even Federer, lost in QF 2010, QF 2011 and even earlier this year. And Nadal, early losses the last 2 years. And remember that year when Hewitt and Nalbandian met in the final? Nalbandian? Its crazy.

What's so crazy about it? Most people who follow the sport generally believe Nalbandian should have been in more major finals.

Were those people aware that Nalbandian wasn't fit enough to make it through 2 weeks of best-of-5 sets? Then again, Wimbledon generally has shorter points, so that suits Nalbandian (even if the surface isn't his best). He was ranked 32 at the time.

With Fed playing in Brisbane in 2014, I thought there is an early opportunity for
a Fed vs. Andy match. But, it is not going to happen. Andy is playing Doha instead
of Brisbane in 2014. But an Andy-Nadal match might happen there and of course
that is an eagerly awaited match.

Ferru usually plays in Auckland and Djokovic usually does not play in any of
these.

Does any one know where is Del Potro playing? Chennai May be?

a Fed vs. Andy match. But, it is not going to happen. Andy is playing Doha instead
of Brisbane in 2014. But an Andy-Nadal match might happen there and of course
that is an eagerly awaited match.

Hmm not sure Andy will play any tournament before the Australian Open. Even participation in Oz is not a guarantee as yet.

I think every player should make their acceptance speech in this way.

Iona, I read somewhere that Andy has already announced that he will be
playing in Doha in 2014 (of course, if at all he is playing somewhere that week,
that is just usual disclaimer to make it safe).

this week (nov 4th onwards)..andy says he is going out to a real tennis court (outdoor tennis is real tennis, no ?) and slap an actual tennis ball over a real net for the first time since mid September..

its the next step up with the rehab, he's been at Chelsea fc's Cobham hi-tech training complex, he has met jose morinho, i suppose he kept quiet about him going to watch arsenal at highbury. or was it someone else ??????????.

Sure hope he is. Tournaments need all the top guys out there playing well and injury free. I'd rather see Andy at the WTF than Gasquet or Ferrer but it is what it is and they deserve their places anyway.

It was nice of Chelsea FC to let him use their facilities. I'd imagine he kept quiet about Arsenal. Andy's on the Jonathan Ross show on the 9 November.

andy not attending bbc sports personality of year awards in uk to carry on rehab..and is on course to play exhibition on boxing day and then Doha atp250.
